Age of Adepts

Chapter 1460 - Outlander City

After disciplining Ivana, Grim was just a little bit more relaxed now.

"Chip, how long do I have..."

"Drip, eviction countdown: 11 minutes and 28 seconds..."

Sheesh...only 11 minutes to go!

Grim's heart was slightly shaken, and an inexplicable emotion washed over him.

It was finally time to leave this familiar world completely... There was both reluctance and uncertainty at the time of parting.

He turned around to take a look at the Northern Witch who was scattering the field and was staring at him with all sorts of unfriendly gazes, and with a single stroke of his hand in front of his eyes, he tore open a small crack in the void and lowered his head to enter it.

And when he reappeared, he was already back in the towering family witch tower of the Crimson Wing in the middle of the continent.

Within the hall, the blackness was packed with Crimson Sorcerers from all directions. They silently watched the sudden appearance of Grim, bowing in unison and bidding a final farewell to the legendary magical patriarch.

Grim stood frozen in mid-air, his gaze slowly sweeping over them, and there was still a hint of reluctance in his eyes as well.

Out of so many Crimson Wizards, he could recognize only eleven of them. Even within those crimson 'old men' that he knew, many familiar figures had been lost and many new faces had been added.

And this going of his would mean forever!

Perhaps by the next time he was lucky enough to project his soul back, there would be few acquaintances left here. And yet this was almost the norm for the great witches.

Even Meryl, a female disciple he had trained himself, would only have a lifespan of 600 to 700 years if she couldn't advance to the 4th rank. And yet such a 'short' life only accounted for a small portion of Grim's long lifespan.

Perhaps by the time Grim had settled into the out-of-territory territory and turned her attention back to it, she would have disappeared.

It was because they didn't want to give and lose too often that the great sorcerers were accustomed to using indifference and reason to control their emotions, while keeping overly extravagant things like love, family, and friendship on the back burner.

It wasn't that they were cold and heartless, but each was in a different dimension and it had become difficult to maintain relationships like a mundane family!

After looking around the hall, Grim's gaze penetrated through the stone walls and the protection of the Witch Tower and landed on the place at the end of the sky. There, a Central 4th Order stood silently pinned, gazing in a complex manner at the vast burning will that stood proudly beneath the vault of the sky.

Although Grim was leaving, the momentum of the Horton Witchcraft Academy was unstoppable. As long as the Crimson Family was rooted within the academy, with Grim's remaining power, it would be able to ensure that it would flourish and grow in the next few hundred years.

Moreover, there were still Mary and Alice left in the family, and with them sitting in charge, the development of the family and the academy would not deviate too much.

Thus, after nodding in greeting with the crowd present and absent, Grim's gaze swept around again on Mary who was standing at the forefront, finally turning around to enter the ultra-teleportation array that connected the extra-domain space.

"Wait there for a few hundred years and I'll come to you!"

Before the figure disappeared, Mary's slightly hoarse voice reached straight into Grim's ears.

Grim smiled happily, and his heart immediately relaxed a lot.

................

Light and shadow shifted, time and space shook.

After experiencing a moment of dizziness, Grim appeared inside a teleportation array in front of his eyes.

It was a teleportation room forged purely from steel magic weapons, and the room was a thousand ping in size, while the teleportation array only took up a small portion of the indoor space.

At this moment, outside the teleportation array, Brain Splitting Sock was waiting there with a flattering face, offering a smile to it remotely.

"Welcome, Master!"

Grim didn't pay any attention to it, instead silently stretching his spiritual will.

Inside the bit plane, he was as uncomfortable as if his hands and feet were tied and his eyes, ears, mouth and nose were blocked. Every move had to be made to try to gather power, lest it draw the suppression of the bit surface consciousness.

And now at the moment, outside the domain, the body and soul had lost their restrictions, and could finally stretch and expand comfortably. That kind of freedom and casualness even made him feel upside down and enchanted, somewhat oblivious.

The fusion of spirit and rule power of the 5th Order had formed a unique 'will'! His thoughts, words and actions were like adhering to some kind of law, capable of coalescing into a will of rules in the territory his consciousness extended to, thus replacing the laws of the ethereal bits .

His thoughts were laws, and his will was the rule of the world....

All spirits in his rule-controlled space are subject to his will!

This sense of manipulation that seemed like a deity holding the heavens and controlling the earth made Grim swoon for a full half hour before he slowly converged.

Just a moment ago, Grim's spiritual consciousness had transformed into a sprawling net that stretched out in all directions, exploring the teleportation chamber and extending to every corner along the internal passageways and various tunnels and ducts of this steel capital.

During this time, it had also collided with the mental consciousness of the ectoplasmic Ghazluvi.

As soon as the latter recognized Grim's spiritual consciousness fluctuations, he automatically retreated, which was tantamount to surrendering control of the Steel Capital.

Grim just stood still in the teleportation room, and in a flash, he touched the huge Steel Capital that covered dozens of kilometers, including one hundred and three floors above ground and seventy floors underground.

Even the many hidden passages and spaces were swept away by Grim's mental fluctuations and projected onto the three-dimensional terrain map in his mind.

It had to be said that while Grim's attention was focused on the interior of the bit plane, this different brain that he had sent to the 'barbaric zone' was indeed developing well.

Because when he mentally scanned, he had already discovered that thousands of extra-territorial creatures or star realm nomads were living in the hundred or so layers of the surface. And inside the city, Grim had also discovered auction halls, amusement parks, casinos, taverns, inns, blacksmith shops, demon possession factories, alchemy labs, magic weapon recycling workshops, and many other odd places.

It seemed that in the one to two hundred years that he hadn't been paying attention, the Iron Capital had truly become an extra-territorial metropolis, as well as a huge camp for many aliens and starlings to rest, resupply and exchange information.

The reason why the Ectobrain Ghazluvi was able to support such a huge extra-territorial city was not by itself, but by the number of up to 6,000 regular magic weapon legions, as well as the 13,000-odd magic weapon reserve legions hidden deep underground.

It was estimated that maintaining these 6,000 regular Magic Armor legions was already the limit of Ecto-Gazluvi's control, otherwise it wouldn't have let so many Magic Armors sleep underground.

The transmission room was on the minus five level underground, while the Iso-Brain Ghazruvi's residence was on the minus fifty level underground. From here to there, it could be described as a gateway that was full of devices and traps, with many areas and defiles guarded by high-ranking Magic Armament Guards.

After Grim instantly grasped the overall situation, he also slowly withdrew his mental energy, leaving the actual control of the Steel Capital still to the xenobrain Ghazluvi.

"Take me to Ghazluvi!" Grim was indifferent.

With the strength of his and the ectobrain's mental fluctuations, as long as he was within this steel capital, he could communicate without any obstacles at any time. However, communicating remotely was one thing, and communicating face to face was another.

Therefore, Grim did not hesitate in choosing to meet with the xenobrain!

Seemingly not at all surprised or hesitant at Grim's request, the split-brain Sock hurriedly side-stepped and said, "Master, please follow me!"

Ten high-ranking Demon Armor Warriors in front of him opened the way, and Split Brain Sock led the way, Grim passed through one spacious and flat steel passageway after another, through one metal defile after another heavily guarded by the Demon Armor Warriors, and through one metal gate after another that was several meters thick, before he met the ectobrain Ghazruvi at the minus 50th floor underground.

Compared to the last time we met, Ghazluvi's brain had doubled in size, and the brain floating in the turquoise nutrient fluid was like a mountain of soft flesh when it squirmed.

Seeing Gazluvi, a smile finally appeared on Grim's face.

Since the other party was willing to let him go deeper into his 'brain chamber', it meant that it hadn't changed its mind or force field and was still willing to focus on him.

This was especially important!

Although Grim was still able to perceive the brand of flame he had planted previously on Ghazluvi's mind, he also knew it by heart. Such a tactic was simply unable to completely bind the other party.

Knowing that the other party was willing, it was not impossible to be able to shed part of his brain and remove the brand of soul that Grim had left behind. And now, the fact that the other party was still willing to serve him as his master, exposing his weakest point to him, showed his sincerity.

Grim naturally smiled happily at this.

"Master, I didn't expect you to move so quickly... It's now at the 5th level!" Ghazluvi's grand voice rang in Grim's head, the words filled with infinite emotion.

When we first met, Ghazluvi had leapt to a 3rd rank Brain Monster with the help of the Eternal Life Ritual. At that time, Grim was still an inconspicuous human 2nd stage sorcerer.

But now, even though Ghazluvi is several times stronger than before, he is still trapped at the peak of Level 3 and has yet to advance to Level 4. The previous 2nd rank master had left it far behind and had become a noble and honorable 5th rank sorcerer.

This earth-shattering and tremendous change made even a strange monster like Ghazluvi feel a thousand times harder to accept, and even somewhat began to doubt his own intelligence and ability.

Moreover, on this 'young' master, Gazruvi felt two extremely powerful scents of power. This indicated that he was carrying at least two rank 5 items on him!

The strength might have come from a bump of luck, but that 5th rank item could not have been obtained at the spur of the moment.

This also fully illustrated the young master's true terrifying strength hidden behind a 'harmless' exterior!
