Age of Adepts

Chapter 1478 - The Goblet Plane

Four months later....

While Grim was waiting for his turn in the Hall of Flowers, his first bit mission came unexpectedly.

"The Yunyang front line has been attacked, a number of Beast God genus divisions have descended on the Goblet Plane, and the attacking forces have suffered huge losses... Please send support from headquarters immediately!"

Inside the busy and noisy circular hall, a sorcerer suddenly shouted loudly, attracting the attention of all the sorcerers on duty. In the star-like bit offensive map above the hall, a star immediately exploded with a dazzling red mane and began to flicker rapidly.

The great sorcerers inside the guardian halls opened their eyes, receiving the battle situation reports from the sorcerer spirits while waiting for orders to be given.

As expected, 5 flexes later, the relevant battle orders were transmitted to the corresponding guardian halls.

This time, a total of three halls were selected, and the composition of the personnel for the battle was: one Grand Sorcerer of the 6th rank and four Grand Sorcerers of the 5th rank.

And the Grim's Flower Character Hall was allocated a 5th rank Grand Sorcerer slot.

The Grissom wizard's eyes fell on Grim.

"Grim, I'll leave this task to you!"

"Yes!"

Having been here for half a year, the first mission was the most dangerous combat mission, and Grim couldn't help but slander a little. But clearly still calm as usual, he stood up and arrived inside the teleportation formation that suddenly appeared in the corner of the hall.

In an instant, the teleportation light flickered, the light and shadow before him changed, and he had arrived within another, more spacious and busy battle hall.

Led by a sorcery puppet, he quickly joined up with the other great sorcerers who were fighting together.

The sixth ranked Grand Sorcerer was a male sorcerer named Wind Rage, whose entire body was made of a twisted and indistinct combination of dazzling black smoke, and his true face could not be seen at all. The other three great sorcerers were two men and one woman, also in different forms, and the rules around their bodies were so thick that they almost wanted to materialize.

After the five-member battle squad gathered, the castle witch spirit responsible for the battle mobilization immediately descended into consciousness and communicated with them swiftly.

"The Goblet Plane that you went to this time is a medium-plane, and the dominant player in it is an orc kingdom with a huge population and resources. Our advance troops have already established a firm foothold there, taking nearly ten thousand miles of the orc kingdom's land."

"Now, the other side has suddenly descended a large number of beast god bilocations, apparently wanting to annihilate our advance force and then kick us out of the Goblin Dimension. Therefore, your mission is to protect the advance troops and fight off or annihilate those beast god bilocations."

"Minimum mission requirements: 1) Protect the newly integrated orc city of Danmojo. 2) Protect the Wizard Gauntlet under construction. 3) Protect the 4th level core wizard Kurt in the advance force, who holds within his soul the spatial beacons needed for subsequent transports.... "

"The mission period is three months, after three months the construction of the Sorcerer's Gauntlet is completed and the Bitgate is successfully activated, your mission is considered complete!"

"Okay, mission briefing is complete. Now prepare to teleport you to the front lines, please prepare to teleport!"

After listening to the Castle Witch Spirit's introduction, a few of the Grand Sorcerers were able to get a preliminary understanding of the situation there. They looked at each other, suppressed the rule fluctuations in their bodies, and stood a little closer.

A few moments later, as a magnificent rune formation appeared on their side, terrifying spatial fluctuations were created. Not only was the distance of the transmission extremely long, but it also had to resist the interference of the opposite side's barrier, so the risks involved in the transmission were enormous.

However, these were obviously not a threat to the great sorcerers who were already transcendent.

Therefore, after a moment of dizziness, when the crowd opened their eyes again to see the surrounding scenery, they had already arrived at an exotic country with a very different style and shape.

As soon as everyone had stepped out of the light transmission array, countless chains of laws were twisted in the void of the surface. These chains of laws ignored the elemental protection outside of their bodies and penetrated deep into their souls, and if they weren't blocked by the layer of rule light, they would have been able to directly touch the origin of their souls.

Many of the great sorcerers frowned, and the energy atmosphere in their bodies that was originally soaring and berserk was also lowered in an instant. If it had been those low-ranked Sorcerers, they would have been suppressed by this malevolent bit of consciousness that would have made it difficult for them to stand up.

But the ones present were all great sorcerers, who were able to isolate the chain of laws from the bit surface consciousness with the light of their own rules. This way, their own suppression and influence would be much less.

However, in this hostile world, it would become extremely difficult for them to replenish any energy from the outside world. It was like being trapped in a vast desert, and they could barely absorb any supplement from the outside world other than the sorcery energy they were immersed in.

Under such circumstances, the risks and crises of trying to fight an enemy of the same level would undoubtedly be a thousand times greater!

"Welcome, welcome! It was great to see the crowd! You've just arrived here, so why don't you all rest in the camp for a while..." as the several great sorcerers silently adjusted their state, several 4th rank sorcerers responsible for managing this huge outpost camp gathered around and bowed at the same time.

"I am Merola, the commander in charge of this attack on the Goblet Position."

"I'm Dutar, in charge of the Witch Beast Force..."

"I'm Kurt, in charge of the Witch Tower teleportation set-up..."

"........"

The people didn't really care as the successive few 4th rank heads went up to be introduced one by one. Instead, upon hearing Kurt's name, the eyes of a few great wizards turned and engraved this guy who was specifically mentioned in the mission.

This was a middle-aged male wizard with a modest appearance, long brown hair, a slim figure, and a body that was overflowing with an extremely strong wind particle scent. He was only a 4th level beginner, and his temperament wasn't tough enough, and he couldn't detect any traces of a powerful witch weapon in his body.

For such a guy to be able to set foot on such an important bit of the battlefield, it was obvious that he did not exist as a battle sorcerer, but relied on his special profession as a rune maker.

Almost instantly, several great sorcerers, including Grim, had already explored this Kurt's background. And this Kurt, who was being noticed by several great sorcerers at the same time, was also instantly bursting with pressure, and even sweat traces were hidden on his forehead.

"Go do what you need to do, you don't have to always be around us. Merola and Kurt stay here, and everyone else scatter!" The head of the 6th ranked Grand Sorcerer, Wind Knight, was also a capable fellow who sat in his chair and waved away those 'idle people', leaving the two most critical to this mission behind.

The Grand Sorcerer and his party, led by that Merola's chief commander, walked towards the city hall of this huge orc city. And taking this opportunity, Grim was able to examine this sturdy fortress filled with a strong orcish style with his own eyes.

Tall, rugged, savage, fierce....

These were some of the words and phrases that naturally surfaced in Grim's mind after mentally scanning this orcish city, Danmojo.

The entire city was made of a huge square rock stacked one person high, without the need to carve any solid witchcraft formation at all, and this stone material itself possessed an astonishingly terrifying sturdiness.

The tall and rugged city walls, the corner towers and prisms on top of them, the thick and sharp wooden stakes inserted on the walls and intersections, the broken but still fluttering banner of beast skin... It could be seen that this orc city had just fallen into the hands of the sorcerers, and many ornaments or symbols of the orc style had not yet been removed.

And right now, the entire city was like a big construction site in the middle of a busy day, with demolition sites of collapsed houses everywhere, and long lines of sorcery puppets cleaning up the ruins and wreckage under the command of the sorcerers....

In addition to the sturdy stone houses and barracks, the Orcs' buildings were many haphazardly built cowhide tents or wooden towers. From their crooked and crude appearance, you could not even guess what their original purpose was before the war.

Every corner of the city was once a battlefield where both sides fought bloody battles. As such, there weren't many buildings that could be preserved intact, and the City Hall could be considered the exception among the exceptions.

Along the way, Grim could completely see the smoky and knife chopping marks on the surface of every tall stone building. Some of the orc corpses that hadn't been packed out in time were lying in the street corners and alleys, vaguely remnants of the witch beasts that had gnawed and torn on them.

Strangely enough, although the intelligent races like humans, beasts, elves, and dwarves occupying the main position had slight differences and differences in each plane, they could still be distinguished at a glance by virtue of their strong racial styles.

At the corner of one of the streets that Grim and the others passed by, a huge wooden prison was filled with a large number of orc warriors captured due to their injuries. Almost all of them were big, muscular men, over 2 meters tall.

They had tall, strong bodies with light green hard skin. There were muscle masses filled with explosive power all over their bodies, with rough skin, large pores, and veins bulging like small snakes.

What was even more striking was their ugly and fierce faces, with their wide, bloody mouths, coupled with the sharp fangs and copper bell-like pupils of their angry lips... Such shapes made it difficult to think of them as intelligent beings, but only as some kind of modified savage ferocious creatures.

Such an ugly and vicious creature would probably only be acceptable to that Beast God A**!

The moment Grim and the others were about to arrive at the City Hall, a palpitatingly powerful rule fluctuation suddenly came from the far end of the sky. Immediately, the snake eye ring on that commander-in-chief Merola's body glowed with a dazzling green light.

Merola gently fought with the snake eye ring, and after a few moments of rapid communication with someone in the distance, she finally managed to sigh.

"My lords, it seems that those beast divisions are aware of your arrival and are already intensifying their efforts to clear out our outlying forces. Just now, a scattered out force was overrun by the other side again..."

"How much was lost?" The leader of the group, Wind Force, asked coldly.

"3,000... Containing the entire Wizard Force of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level intact battle strength, all of them were annihilated!"
