Age of Adepts

Chapter 1494 - Rule Infiltration

Until long after Hegel had left, Grim was still standing in his spot, thinking silently.

Driven by the Embers Web Spider Mother, all the busy flame creatures avoided Grim's position, not daring to disturb him in the slightest.

It took a full half a moment for Grim to break free from his thoughts and return to his normal state once again.

It was surprising, yet not so surprising, that the other man's arrival seemed logical.

Just coming so early was a bit surprising!

Want to be a Flame King? The way to get there is simple... pull a large bit into the fire elemental plane and have it merge into part of the fire elemental plane, and that's it!

But Grim was well aware of the true value of a large bit....

The Sorcerer's World is a large bit, and although the qualifications are older and the power levels are higher, the bit level is an undisputedly large bit....

The arcane empire that Grim had invaded and witnessed the destruction of was also a large bit, but that enormous size had almost given birth to a huge arcane empire that could rival the sorcerer civilization!

Even in the multiverse, where material planes were as numerous as stars, there were only a handful of large planes, and they were all the cores of wars coveted and fought over by those cosmic powers.

With Grim's current power, invading a small surface was still not much of a problem. But trying to invade a medium dimension became extremely difficult, and often times it would end in failure.

For example, that Dragon Country Lance Plane that had long since fallen into the hands of the Crimson Family, the witches were still in the middle of a difficult opening and pinch. Once they provoked those 4th level dragon lords, even the steel city with astonishing defensive power would be miserably pressed and rubbed by the dragons.

The Crimson Family has made a huge profit from this medium-sized surface, which is still in the process of being explored, not to mention the large surface. Then the profit that can be gained from ruling a large surface alone... that's something that makes one's eyes flutter when one thinks about it!

And the most direct and simple way to become a king of the fire elemental plane, to be recognized by the consciousness of the plane here, is to pull in a large plane and have it assimilated by the fire elemental plane....

The simplicity and brutality of this simply left Grim speechless!

If that's a good thing, why not just be the king of the world? Why trade a large throne for a king of the fire elemental plane?

But when you think about it, a World King of a large bit might really be inferior in power and strength to a Flame Monarch of a Fire Elemental bit. And this was determined by the equivalency and power ceiling of both sides of the seat.

The four elemental realms of Earth, Fire, Water, and Wind combined together, but it was a super-giant bit, two orders higher than the large bit. And on its own, the fire elemental plane also belonged to the mega-plane, which was one step higher than the large-plane.

Therefore, it was understandable that the Flame Monarch's identity was more noble!

However, as noble as the Flame Monarch's status was, Grim still didn't think it was worth it if he traded it for a large bit of his own control. However, if it wasn't a large seat of his own, sacrificing it to the Fire Elemental Plane might be worth considering.

Of course, that Hegel had traveled all the way to the Altar of Molten Fire for more than just telling Grim about this way of becoming a Flame Monarch, but to demarcate the boundaries with it.

King Zetas' territory was 7,000 miles to the northeast of the Altar of Molten Flame.

According to the agreement between Grim and Hegel, before he became a monarch, his immediate territory could not go beyond a thousand miles around the Molten Fire Altar, and he could not have more than three of his 4th rank subordinates. In the event of a violation, the surrounding Flame Monarchs had the power to banish him from the Fire Elemental Plane at any time.

Of course, the reason for such an agreement was most likely a rule made by those Flame Kings for the sake of protecting the native creatures of the Fire Elemental Plane. It was also the only way to prevent exotic powerhouses from wantonly hunting and plundering those wild, high-ranking Flame Lords.

But then, Grim's desire to make a big impact on the Fire Elemental Plane would be somewhat shattered. Instead, he would have to calculate and carefully plan the allocation of the quota for the three 4th rank underlings.

After pondering for a while, Grim put all these bad things out of his mind and instead concentrated on the strange way that Hegel moved as if he were a ghost.

He had a feeling that the other party's movement style did not rely on any props or spells, but was a pure technique of using rule power. This was also the future direction that Grim had been unable to enter.

Grim stood there silently, the chip in his mind replaying the stored images of Hegel over and over again. The playback speed was even slower to a certain extreme, almost breaking down every tiny movement he made into countless tiny displacement topographies, then studying them in detail frame by frame....

In addition to that, it also contained the various subtle changes in Hegel's internal energy that the chip had seen.

Once the two were combined, Grim had finally found some clues.

Rules....

As a rule shaman, the so-called source of power must always fall on the rules!

As the chip slowed down that Hegel's every movement to an extreme, Grim finally saw how the rule force inside him was coupled to the outside world's rules, thus incorporating his entire body into the bit-rule system and then the entire process of breaking free in a specific location.

Using the bit plane rule system as a bridge of passage for short distance transmissions....

This method of teleportation can ignore any magical shields or spell barriers, as well as walls, earth, trees, rocks, and other obstacles, and as long as the laws of the seat extend, you can come and go as freely as you wish....

The only thing that could block this kind of teleportation would be a Law Barrier or Rule Protection!

But how many people could have such high end protection within the bits?

If the Sorcerer Tower held up all the protection, isolating all the connections inside and outside, it would be possible to block the rules from penetrating. But this kind of closed state is also extremely energy-intensive for the tower, and it will last for ten days and half a month, but the energy pool will be depleted over time.

At that time, what could we rely on to stop this kind of rule infiltration?

The more he analyzed and thought about it, the more powerful Grim felt this rule utilizing technique became. If it could be applied flexibly in actual combat, then his enemies were going to be in big trouble!

"Chip, establish a new research project immediately, and do your best to push the higher-order use of the flame rules and the compatibility of the coupling between the flame rules and the laws of the seat..."

"Drip, the task has been created... The derivation task model requires the collection of relevant rule information... The task has been broken down in detail and needs to be completed by the subject for the correlation rule experiment to proceed to the next step ......."

Brush up....

The light screen projected by the chip in Grim's mind was immediately swept with a massive amount of transport data. Densely packed data of various sorcery formulas and calculations rolled down from the top of the screen like an avalanche, piled up at the bottom of the screen, and stacked higher and higher, threatening to drown the entire screen.

"Chip, there's no need to show these intermediate processes in the future, just show me the final results!"

"Drip, order accepted..."

In the next moment, the entire light screen was instantly cleared, leaving behind only three flashing green prerequisites.

"I. Ruleized Body (78% complete)..."

"Second, condense the will to flame (currently at 0% progress)..."

"Third, complete the correlative coupling rule fusion experiment (not expanded)..."

Grim swept his gaze slowly over the three prerequisites, mulling over them.

Ruleizing the body, this was something he had been doing ever since he became a 5th level sorcerer. Only before, it had been using the rule energy radiating the body within the Fire God Pearl to adapt it to the intensity of the flame rules.

Now, on the other hand, it simply required completely regularizing the entire body in order to reach the point where it was completely integrated with the rules level!

Having completed the first step, Grim actually had the foundation to integrate into the rule system. But the second step of Flame Will was also essential. Otherwise, without the Flame Will to harness, it would be easy to blend in, but it would be difficult to separate out.

After all, Grim only wanted to borrow the rule system, not to give away what he had. If there was no self-will, then the so-called incorporation of the rules would be rather like being swallowed up by the rules yourself.

Therefore, condensing the will of a flame that surpassed the rules level was of utmost importance!

Just how to gather the will was also an exceptionally ethereal question. If Grim wanted to start working on it, I'm afraid that he would inevitably have to visit the old powerhouses of the various facets or the old shamans of this camp.

Such things couldn't be rushed, so one could only take one step at a time and explore slowly.

Anyway, with the 10,000 years of life of a 5th rank Grand Sorcerer, there was still plenty of time for him to squander at will later.

As for the third item, he would be able to start some relevant experiments in advance.

But it was too risky to rashly conduct such experiments if the Rule Transformation Body wasn't completed. Thus, it seemed that the matter of the Rule Incarnation Body would have to be grasped.

And just as Grim was preparing to return to the Giant Rock Castle after taking care of some business on the Fire Elemental Plane, Fractional Brain Sock did receive an interesting message from his side.

The message was transmitted from within the Wizard World bit, and the content of the message was very simple, just one sentence.

"The demigod Wraith Kangonas has returned to the Corpse Plane and is said to be hitting the 5th level..."

To be honest, Grim wasn't surprised to receive this message.

In terms of aptitude and strength, the Demigod Wraith Kangonas was no inferior to him in every aspect. In particular, after acquiring that Harsh Winter Casket, its basic strength had increased by leaps and bounds.

It had survived for so long before it began to prepare for its advancement, not because of its poor qualifications, but because of the peculiar nature of a creature like a Witch Demon!

Wraiths belonged to the undead, and were a typical undead creature.

There was no flesh and blood in their bodies, no veins and bones, and they did not possess the life energy to nourish their souls. Under such circumstances, their advancement relied almost entirely on soul leaping.

Soul leaping might not be the most difficult, but reshaping the Witch Demon Life Box so that it could accommodate new souls... this was the most difficult part of the Witch Demons' advancement.

And if they failed to advance and endangered the life box of the Witch Demon, it could be a terrifying Demigod Witch standing at the peak of its position one moment, and the next, it could be ashes and ashes with no soul left.

Therefore, the difficulty and trouble of a Witch Demon's advancement was several times greater than that of a human Witch.

They would not dare to attempt it until they possessed absolute certainty!
