Age of Adepts

Chapter 1505 - World Altar

Before the altar of molten fire.

Grim stood in silence.

He had a feeling that something unexpected might happen if he used this World Altar for the Higher Order Sacrifice. However, he also had a feeling that this unexpected might not be a bad thing for him.

Since it wasn't a bad thing, then it was a good thing!

With the odd idea of trying everything, Grim eventually decided to make a sacrifice here.

Sacrifice was actually a very simple thing to do!

Prepare a magical altar with which the sacrifice can contact an exceptionally powerful being. Preparing a few more qualified offerings would be enough to support the entire sacrificial process.

Whether or not that exceptionally powerful existence would have the time to respond to some 'Grylls' request depended on its mood at the time and the grade of the sacrifice. As long as the sacrifice was of a sufficient grade, even if the offerer was not that respectful, the powerful existence would not be too concerned.

As for the commoners in the world, they would always hold grand rituals when making sacrifices, selecting beautiful young girls to act as rituals, and slaughtering herds of livestock to accompany the massive blood meal, all for the sole purpose of pleasing that powerful being above them.

But to Grim, the sacrifice was just a 'fair' deal with another powerful being, and there was no religious superstition. It was enough for both sides to take what they needed and be happy with it, there was no need for all that fancy stuff.

Thus, after banishing the idle people around the Molten Fire Altar, Grim slowly arrived in front of the ancient altar that had been abandoned for tens of thousands of years.

Gently stepping on the stone steps that had been severely damaged, Grim picked his way up the steps with an emotion like admiring an ancient relic, and finally stood in front of that compass-shaped strange stone platform half a quarter of an hour later.

The stone platform was made of an unknown material, grey-white, simple and old, with all sorts of strange patterns and many odd runes of unknown use carved on it. Even with Grim's 'erudition' and Chip's 'omniscience', it was difficult to know everything about these ancient magic patterns that had been broken off from their inheritance for a long time.

But strangely enough, when his eyes drew near the stone platform, without anyone teaching him or communicating with anyone, the spell syllables of these strange magic patterns naturally surfaced in Grim's mind.

As for the specific function of the magic patterns and the meaning expressed by the incantations, there was still nothing known!

It's kind of interesting... Grim couldn't help but sigh under his breath.

"O omnipresent Great Flame Will, Grim hereby makes a request to you, please accept the beautiful gift I have prepared for you..." chanting those spell syllables out loud with his eyes closed, while chanting and silently communicating with that high and mighty Flame Will within.

But unfortunately, no matter how hard he tried, no matter how devout he was, there was no movement on the altar, not even a hint of the fire element flowing.

What was this, not spreading an eagle without seeing a hare?

Grim sighed inwardly once again, pulling out a Divine Grid Fragment from his bosom and gently placing it on top of the stone platform.

As soon as the shard touched the still warm stone platform, a dazzling golden beam of light penetrated out from inside the stone platform and turned into a huge pillar of light that reached the sky.

When the upper end of the pillar touched the vault of the sky, it exploded into countless beautiful and miserable golden rain of light that rained down from the sky, enveloping the entire molten fire altar and isolating it from the outside world.

Immediately, an incomparably large and indescribably great will descended from the void and firmly locked onto Grim's spiritual will.

All of Grim's spiritual perceptions and chip perspective probes were pressed back into his body by the matchless spiritual power. Other than simple sight, hearing, and touch being unaffected, it was as if everything related to transcendent power had been sealed and could no longer be used in the slightest.

In front of that mighty and matchless Great Will, it was as if Grim had become an ordinary person, no longer having any capital to be proud of himself!

"Human, is it you who will sacrifice this shard of the Godhead?"

It was an exceptionally grand and majestic mysterious voice that did not have the emotion and excitement that a life form should have, but only the ancient vicissitudes of an ancient atmosphere and endless majesty.

"Great Flame Will, it is indeed I who is offering you a sacrifice... Please accept my sacrifice!" As a 5th rank Grand Sorcerer, the various ritual processes Grim knew all about inside.

Communicating with such a sublime and great existence, any pretense or false concealment was unnecessary. The spiritual wills of both sides were connected to each other, and Grim's any true inner thoughts and valley owed hope could not be hidden from each other.

"I can take the sacrifice, speak your request!"

"I'm trying to raise my own flame levels, and their power doesn't satisfy me..."

"On you, I perceive two completely different flavors of flame origin, which one do you want to enhance?"

"Can I know in advance the true effect of their boost?" Grim tries to communicate with Great Will.

"Human, one of your flames has a hint of 'indestructible' flavor in its origin, and I can raise it to 'Soul Burning'. From now on, your flames will have the ability to burn souls directly... The other flame has a 'mirror image' flavor and can be raised to 'parting', and from then on, these phantoms will have the ability to About 30% of your own body's attack ability now..." as if it was the first offering of benefits, this Fire Elemental Plane's Flame Will seemed especially gentle and friendly.

'Indestructible' to 'Soul Burning', this seemed to have raised the level of flame rules, making Grim's attacks even more formidable!

'Mirroring' to 'Splitting', on the other hand, improves Grim's ability to control the battlefield and stay alive. With three flame bilocations that could fight and fit together, Grim would be able to play more trick combinations above the battlefield.

Grim licked his lips lightly, and was hesitant for a moment.

"Human, I can sense that there are other shards of the Divine Grid in you, might as well sacrifice them all so you don't have to worry about choosing!" The Flame Will was sweetly prompted.

Fuck, this Flame Will also had a dog nose and could even smell this!

It really is the old man, the old ghost can, any kind of intelligent life that has existed for a long time, can become so cunning and deceitful that it knows how to market hunger....

While angrily slandering the Flame Will's 'belly', Grim pulled out another shard of the Divine Grid and placed it on the stone platform, he said, "I choose to raise the split! As for this one extra fragment of the divine grid, I would like to ask you to do me a favor?"

"What's the rush?" It seemed that the Flame Will was in a good mood after seeing two fragments of the divine Grid.

"Help me fuse these two things together!" After saying that, only then did Grim carefully place the fragments of the Flame Glyph and the Fire God Pearl that he had carefully prepared on the stone table.

"The request does not exceed the value of the sacrificial item, the request is established... The sacrifice will now begin!"

After the grand and majestic voice of the Flame Will sounded, golden flames immediately ignited on the stone platform. In the flames, the two fragments of the divine Grid that Grim had placed on the stone platform were immediately scorched and melted and softened, then disintegrated into countless sparkling and enchanting fireflies that scattered into the endless void.

This was the Flame Will taking away its own sacrifice!

In the next second, two more golden pillars of light were cast into the void, one enveloping Grim and one enveloping the fragments of the Flame Goddess Grid and the Fire God Pearl placed on the stone platform....

Countless mysterious and mysterious flame runes condensed out of the void, pouring into Grim's body like a weary bird returning to the forest. Grim immediately sensed that a mysterious force within his body was transforming the 'Flame Illusion' in his soul consciousness, and a lot of past knowledge about the origin of flames that was difficult to understand suddenly surfaced and became part of his spiritual consciousness.

In another place, the fragments of the Flame Goddess Grid shrouded by the golden pillar of light were also melting and softening, turning into a strange liquid-like existence that merged into the Fire Goddess Pearl.

The Fire Goddess Pearl shone brightly in an instant, as strands of golden light flames and dense morning star-like flame runes intertwined, transforming the internal structure of the artifact on a large scale. In the void, the roar of the Flame God filled with anger and tyranny vaguely resounded, and a stream of bright yellow flames even spewed out of the Fire God Bead resisting the transformation of the flame runes.

If it was Grim who handled the transformation, it would have been difficult to resist the Flame God's flame riot that was comparable to the punishment of the world. However, in the Fire Elemental Plane, even the 7th Stage Flame God Sinai could not resist the divine Great Flame Will.

A roar of anger and reluctance gradually faded away, and the Fire God Pearl shone like a small sun, undergoing an unprecedented great transformation. The one guiding this transformation process was the Great Flame Will that had taken Grim's benefits.

I must say, every penny counts!

With Flame Will at the helm, from now on Grim would never have to worry about the original owner of the Fire God Pearl. Because all traces and fragments of Sinai's soul left inside the Fire God Pearl had been erased by the Flame Will, leaving Grim with a new artifact that was in desperate need of claiming ownership.

And this artifact's level was Level 5 Advanced, which was a small step up from before the transformation!

But what excited Grim the most was that the 5th level divine technique 'Scorched Earth' that was originally stored in the Fire God Pearl had also turned into 'Raging Flame Blitz'....

This was a true 5th level flame spell with a complete spell model and initiation spell. As long as Grim was willing to carefully comprehend and learn, he would definitely be able to master such a super violent flame attack skill from scratch.

And these benefits were only part of the Vulcan Bead's transformation.

After the Fire God Bead re-claimed its mastery, it also became Grim's exclusive origin sorcery, and never again had any relationship with that Fire God Sinai. What could be more delightful than being able to completely subjugate a high-ranked witchcraft that was in tune with the origin of one's soul!
