Age of Adepts

Chapter 1530 - Alice's Pain

Wizarding World, Witch Territory of the North.

Destiny Gauntlet.

A daily Fate prayer ceremony had just ended, and dozens of Fate Witches were exiting the Astrological Hall in an orderly manner. The presiding Alice was still standing silently in the center of the starlight witch array, feeling the power of fate that was integrating into her like raindrops.

"Teacher, you seem to be a bit preoccupied today..." a clear and sweet female voice came from behind, it was that Lucia.

After years of not seeing her, this Lucia with the title of 'Daughter of Destiny' had grown from a girl into a beautiful young woman. Her round face, straight nose, thin lips, large eyes as bright as black grapes, and youthful hot body posture all showed off her beauty and delicacy to the fullest.

However, what was a bit strange was that she was not wearing the starlight robe that the Fate Witch often wore, but a simple and extremely simple arcane robe. Only to show her identity as an astrologer, she had drawn magic lines representing the sun, moon and stars on the corners of the arcane robe.

Alice turned around with a sigh, looked Lucia up and down, and said grudgingly, "What? You still plan to go the arcane route?"

"Yes!" Lucia said softly, but the determination in her eyes was evident: "I am convinced that only the arcane arts, painstakingly studied, represent the truth of the world! And yet the power of destiny that we pray day and night to obtain is always given by outsiders..."

"Power is power, is there a difference?" Alice's eyes were full of covert spoiling and appreciation.

"There! Fate is able to give us strength, and it is able to take it away. When Fate no longer favors us, we will have nothing and become truly useless. But the arcane arts are different... no one can take away the arcane arts we've drilled into them, no one!"

Alice sighed again, reached out and gently fondled Lucia's silky smooth hair, and said in distress, "Little girl, you know, if you keep thinking like this, you'll never make it to the 4th level of astrology! Destiny requires wholeheartedness, not double-mindedness!"

"I know, but I prefer to believe in the power I really have!" Lucia, despite her youth, already holds the rank of third-ranked Olympian and third-ranked Astrologer.

The profession of the Olympian requires one to open one's eyes, embrace the reality of the world, and reject all irrational and non-knowledgeable content, while the Astrologer requires his followers to close their eyes and devote themselves to the bosom of fate, listening wholeheartedly to the guidance of fate....

In essence, these two ranks were completely opposed to each other, to the point where they were incompatible!

But surprisingly, they blended perfectly on Lucia!

"What are your plans for your future?" Alice inquired curiously.

"I'm going to try to improve and then go to the Abyssal Realm..." said Lucia through gritted teeth.

"Go to the Abyssal Realm for what? There are evil, ugly demonic creatures all over the place that would not welcome a beautiful woman like you!"

"I have to be there!" Lucia said seriously, "Because I've made inquiries, and many of the remaining Aurors have fled into the Abyssal Plane, where they are struggling to survive. I...I want to fight with them!"

Alice sighed once again and said softly, "The demons of the Abyssal Realm don't care if you have ideals or not, they will only bite your flesh and eat your soul... Those partners of yours have survived in the Abyssal Realm for more than two hundred years, are you sure they are still the same people? "

"I don't know! Maybe most of them have been infested and tainted by the will of the Abyss! But even so, I want to go there...even if there's only one partner left there, I want to pull him out!" For some reason, when Lucia said that, a holy light of the purest and purest nature appeared on her soft and glossy face.

"Then try your best, a 3rd rank arcane master is definitely not enough, you need to have at least 5th rank power to make your way to the Abyssal Realm."

"I know, so I'll work even harder!"

"Now I finally understand what you believe in! You're not a faithless person, except that what you believe in isn't something external, it's your heart...and that may be the biggest difference between you and me!"

"Alice-sensei, you... you're feeling so much today, could it be that you're missing that Grim again?" Lucia finally asked curiously.

Alice's identity creation that was compassionate a moment ago and looked like a benevolent elder immediately fell apart.

She gave Lucia a glance with a hateful voice, "Since you don't intend to become a Fate Witch, stop calling me teacher and just call me sister!"

"So... Alice-san, were you just missing Grim-sama?" Lucia was clearly not going to let the other woman off the hook on this one, still smiling and asking after him.

"Ahem..." sighed Alice as she took Lucia into her arms and ghosted, "I'm not missing him... I'm worried about him! "

"Isn't missing and worrying the same thing?" Lucia popped a head out of her arms and asked, appalled, "Besides, I hear that Grim is doing pretty well in the mix! There were some goodies brought to that Mary from out of the region a while back... Boy, those things make my eyes water! Sister, you're not mad that he didn't bring you a present, are you?"

Alice was so overwhelmed by her that she could only press its tiny head into her arms again with hatred.

"Ah... Sister Alice, are you going to suffocate me? You...you seem to be getting a little bigger there!"

"Bad guy, you're becoming just as bad as him now!" Alice's face immediately turned scarlet, but it was swiftly covered by an intense wave of sadness.

"Sister, what's on your mind?"

"Such is the woe of us as the Witches of Destiny!" Alice, for some reason, was growing more and more fond of sighing, "I see destiny, I know what is going to happen to my lover, but I can't say it."

Lucia was startled.

This time she was good and didn't ask questions, but listened silently.

She also had the identity of a 3rd rank astrologer in her, so she naturally knew the taboo of the Fate Witch. There were many things that could not be declared, and once they were exported, they would form a disturbance to known destinies. At that time, there would be more unpredictable and uncontrollable tributaries and bifurcations of fate.

So many things that Alice was willing to say and could say, she would say herself. And what she couldn't say, Lucia asked instead to her detriment.

"Lucia, maybe you're making the right choice! The longer you walk the path of destiny, the lonelier you are. Even if you see the great horror that lies ahead of your lover's destiny, you cannot say or do anything."

"If I say nothing and do nothing, maybe he will have a chance to live. And if I say and do, maybe he won't even have that last chance..."

"I...I'm really in pain and powerless...I really hate myself for this ability sometimes...perhaps, blissfully unaware of the fate of the Arrangements, living each day of the present happily is true happiness!"

Alice in one breath to finish the words of the heart, tightly embracing Lucia, puffing tears finally no longer cover up the trickle down, wetting the other hair.

The first thing you need to do is to take a look at the newest addition to the list.

.................

Fire Elemental Plane, Throne of Flame.

When the towering tower of the Sorcerer's Tower blossomed with a brilliant and beautiful luminescence, the ten-mile radius surrounding the Altar of Molten Fire ceased to be a masterless object and became the earthly residence of the Crimson Great Sorcerer Grim.

It was reasonable to say that using the body of a human sorcerer to occupy the land of the Fire Elemental Plane, this would ironically trigger a riot on the Fire Elemental Plane, which would then lead to the intervention of higher-ranked flame creatures.

However, Grim, who took the upper-tier route, had already made good relations with several of the surrounding Flame Kings, and had cleaned up the few thorns near his territory one by one.

Thus, when he showed his flag and circled his territory, not only did he not trigger a riot from the local Flame natives, but a number of monarch ambassadors came sporadically to congratulate him.

Naturally, Flame Monarchs Zetas and Thanos couldn't come in person, nor did they care to pay attention to Grom, a foreign visitor. However, in the face of Flame Monarch Gromus, they still sent their own emissaries and sent some gifts, which was considered a greeting.

After all, Grim was able to enter the Fire Elemental Plane and follow the Gromus route, thus being considered by outsiders as a Gromus line.

To this point, Grim neither acknowledged nor denied, but rather vaguely responded to the past!

It couldn't be helped, for the Fire Elemental Plane, Grim was still an outsider after all. Although he had already tied up with the bit consciousness here because of the World Sacrifice, he wasn't a native creature of the Fire Element after all.

Therefore, there was nothing one could do to pull off the tiger skin to block the natives' mouths!

But the good thing was that Grim's identity as a fire witch still fit into the spatial environment here, which did not trigger any serious rejection from the local natives.

After the Fire Throne Witch Tower began to operate, Grim also ended his days of wandering or being a parasite, and finally had a 'home' of his own.

After successively dealing with some of the affairs of the Wizard World and Camp Esoda, he also took it seriously and secluded himself in the Flame Throne Witch Tower to begin his next step in increasing his strength.

The bite of the Battle of the Felling Beast had made him eat his fill.

The fragments of the divine grid were temporarily sealed away to wait for him to uncover the greatest use of them. The large amount of divinity was absorbed directly by it, part of it being used to improve the basic body data and part of it being used to nourish the increasingly powerful star beast bloodline.

And Grim's basic strength had changed drastically with each passing day!
