Age of Adepts

Chapter 5: Whispering Garden

While the monsters were deterred by the magic fire in their hands, Grimm quickly walked out of the trail, ripped the dirt off the foot of a killing tree, and forced the roots of a large tree with the magic fire, which saw the material that must be harvested today.

A thumb-sized, bulky root stem grows in the human skeleton of the murderous tree and the white flower, white, red, and purple. Grimm grabbed three purple beads with his knife and carefully placed them in his lumbar bag, which quickly retreated over the trail.

There's no way, it's one of the things that must be done on the tour, otherwise kill him and he won't even take the trail one step! Even though he was moving so quickly, those freshly fled monsters have come together again. And where he had just squatted, the blood-sucking vine parasitic on the killing tree had also dripped down the vine.

If he moves a little slower, I'm afraid it's hard to get away without going through a killing!

He had just found the one with mature stalks directly in a number of killing trees with elemental vision, and he usually needed frequent access trails to keep searching for gains. In that way, his dangers would increase dramatically with the number of entries and exits.

A hundred or two hundred meters along the shady path leaves the living area of the killer tree. A horrible ghost tree crossing the gravel trail appeared in front of him, and the branches of vines hanging from it were like living creatures, still moving in uninhabitable creeps.

Drawing the magic talisman from his neck, which represents his identity, Grimm softly recited the magic code that every wizard apprentice must have.

“Mu Han Tu Lia * Xin Luo. ”

When the magic code was complete, an invisible mysterious force burst out of the black cross-like talisman, quickly sweeping every inch of space around.

An urgent tone sounded quickly in Grimm's mind.

“Abnormal wave power field detected, chip function disturbed...”

The sound of the chip grew weaker and weaker, eventually simply turning into a noisy murmur, no more movement.

Grimm, however, did not feel comfortable walking forward with his witchcraft talisman. As he approached, the canes were also retreating and curling, eventually giving way to a desolate and cold road.

After touring the land of the Killer Tree and the Bloodsucking Demon Vine, you will enter the Gardens of the Baby Monsters. For there, Grimm's heart is filled with unseen fears.

Behind the shady ghost tree is a monster living area called the Whispering Garden.

On either side of the trail are rough gardens, large and small, and abandoned gardens filled with staring ashes and endless monsters.

The magical marsh's special climate makes it a place where baby monsters, witches and spirits can enjoy themselves, gathering together a large number of distorted monsters who only know how to satisfy their appetites. Every living person who breaks into this place eventually falls into the fertilizer of many special plants that like death and resentment, tempted by their incessant malicious contamination and illusion.

Groups of facial mushrooms clustered around the road, holding hands, singing joyful songs and warmly inviting Grimm to join their team. This little thing looks like a little mushroom with hands and feet, because the patches on the umbrella cover are especially famous for being like human faces.

Though these people's facial mushrooms grow hands and feet, and no one stands tall in their calves, Grimm feels a deep chill all over them when they come together and jump and laugh.

“WARNING… WARNING… It has been detected that special force field fluctuations are affecting the subject… Please leave the area in a timely manner…"

Grimm stepped back until he was a little further away from these people's mushrooms before the chills began to subside.

These people, while looking cute, are authentic carnivorous monsters, and they are brutal enough to spare even the soul of their prey. They are all white mushrooms contaminated with dark elements, and each individual has very little hallucinogenic power to capture “large” organisms like humans.

But it can't hold them. They're herds.

Hundreds of thousands of facial mushrooms gather together to form a mirror-like illusion field where bewildered creatures are intoxicated without knowing. So when a bunch of facial mushrooms poured on the victim, the victim was still smiling and immersed in an unknown fantasy space!

For official wizards, these facial mushrooms, which have only simple hallucinogenic abilities, are some good magic materials. But for a wizard apprentice like Grimm, every tour runs the risk of being lured by little monsters.

If Grimm can't hold the illusion of human mushrooms and get lured into the garden, the human mushrooms can be happy on the basis of no breach of contract!

So in the face of these insidious monsters smiling at him, Grimm smiled and pulled an egg-sized round stone out of his waistbag and threw it into their dense team.

The next moment, a light blue electric light flashed past and five clustered people's facial mushrooms fell silently. The rest of the facial mushrooms, which had not been struck by lightning, were frightened to run around, hiding in distant bushes, in shrubs and behind trees.

Grimm quickly walked up to the five facial mushrooms and threw them all into his lumbar bag, which picked up the roundstone and quickly retreated onto the gravel trail.

This is the thunderstone he bought from the apprentice Rex at a high price, and after vibration he was able to release a fork-shaped lightning bolt measuring 5 points around it, which is perfect for dealing with facial mushrooms with weak vitality. After all, his own burning hand was not suitable for capture, so he had to think of something else.

The mushrooms never showed up again after they were frightened. But countless Dawson's cold eyes and whispering whispers were always accompanied by Grimm, creeping him out.

These mushrooms are also the material that must be harvested for each tour, so as soon as Grimm completes this task, he continues along the sheep's bowel trail and does not dare to stay here.

To be honest, this is also the most dangerous area of witch apprentice mortality!

Leaving the garden where the human facial mushrooms were grown, Grimm soon returned to the area where the baby monsters lived.

Baby Monster, it's a little monster that's dried up like a human baby and dragged strange things like an umbilical cord behind it. They crawl to the ground, they crawl fast, and the sound of speech is a sharp, stinging baby.

These baby monsters are not real babies, they are more horrible monsters, born with instincts like "spells”. In other words, part of what they say becomes a reality with the resonance of a strong will. This is an unlimited prayer technique.

Only unfortunately they are evil creatures with extremely distorted hearts, filled with vicious curses and resentments, so don't expect them to send you any good blessings, all you can reap is a monstrous curse and a vicious curse.

When dozens of baby monsters gather to cast the most vicious curse on a target, that is, a terrestrial bear is also maliciously infected into a soft foot crab by a layer of overlapping, and then left to slaughter.

Walking in such a bunch of lunatics really needs a super strong heart and will, otherwise they will be skinned and torn apart in minutes, and the soul will fall into them, becoming one of the many lost souls in this whispering garden.

These special types of monsters all have their own territories, which cannot easily be overcome, otherwise it is not impossible to provoke wars between monsters and monsters.

So when Grimm walked fast on the sheep's bowel trail, the surrounding desolate garden bushes were filled with weird squeaking noises. He did not dare to stay here, but held the talisman in his chest firmly with his hands and walked forwards with his head down.

Finally, Grimm had rushed out of the whispering garden and into another trail before that sharp, stinging baby's cries filled her ears.

As a daily task of visiting apprentices, master the movements of monsters near the tower every seven days and properly harvest some of the witchcraft materials, which is almost the whole of Grimm's journey.

And the area he's visiting now, in fact, still belongs to the enchanted swamp, and very few outsiders are able to break into it. After all, the monsters cultivated by the wizards are extremely dangerous. The wizard apprentices do not always wear their witchcraft talismans to ensure their safety. Normal humans who want to dive in here and steal the resources of the wizards are in luck with their lives.

To be honest, mortals like this are hard to get through even the periphery of the magic swamp.

However, it is known to Grimm that, at times, the towers of wizards deliberately unblock some peripheral restraints and even proactively lure some mortals into the depths of the swamp. And at that time, it was usually a carnival moment when these inner monsters were able to feed themselves!

The Wizard's Tower is a huge circular tower with an extremely complex geographic environment surrounding the base and an even more erroneous distribution of monsters. Therefore, at least two Wizard Apprentices are required for each tour, one in turn and the other, along a fixed route through most Monster Living Areas. From the main gate of the tower, meet at the back door and complete such a closed loop, even if their tour is almost complete.

Each tour brings them 4 knowledge points and several gold coins. Compared to other tasks in the tower, the rewards for the Knowledge Points are already extremely rich. But even so, many wizard apprentices who yearn for knowledge points still look to patrol missions to avoid them.

Without it, the death rate of the patrol mission is absolutely the highest in the Tower mission! Not one of them.

On this tour, Grimm walked in a reverse ring, passing through areas such as the killer grove, the human facial mushroom farm and the whispering garden. And another Wizard apprentice, Tony, walked in a positive ring, and it wasn't much safer than he was here. After all, those swamp crocodiles, old hag wives, parasite mothers aren't vegetarians either!

Especially when harvesting crocodile eggs and cocoons, you need to go deep into their nests, which makes the hazard factor for the tour task soar in a straight line. So when Grimm saw Tony at the back door of the tower, he was very pleased with his luck.

Neither did they have much conversation after the meeting, and a faint nod went into the tall tower.

Waiting for them here was Padawan Anxo, who was completely free for the next six days after handing over the items of the mission. As for the point of knowledge, the apprentice, Anxo, also recorded in a special way the witchcraft talisman of the two.

For the Tall Tower apprentices, witchcraft talismans are actually equivalent to their identity tags.
