Age of Adepts

Chapter 17 Different Trillions

Still the fixed process, or the familiar route, Grimm embarked on the tour again.

Today, however, it is clear that there is something different.

As soon as I stepped into the gravel trail, Grimm noticed something strange. Today… these monsters seem to be very excited and behave differently, one by one.

The first stop of the tour, killing the woods.

Grimm was frightened by today's battle before he approached the killer forest.

Skinny, wrinkled and murderous trees, dense and numb standing full of rotting crows. They stare into the eyes of a gorilla, unable to hold their head to measure the grime, but rather eccentric peacock silence, nothing like they usually do.

To be honest, being watched by hundreds of corrupt crows at the same time, even the bold wizard apprentice has to feel creepy. What surprises Grimm even more, however, is the silence of these corrupt crows. If, in normal times, a dozen rotten crows have a loud and deafening voice enough to stir up chicken dogs within a mile of each other.

But today…

Look at their momentum and wait for the feast.

The knowledge in Grimm's mind tells him that these rotten crows will only be so quiet and patient while waiting for food. In the wilderness desert, these guys are said to be able to follow the dying traveler for days and nights, waiting for the moment when they don't fall.

Grimm slowly walked down the gravel trail with hundreds of corruption-eating crows “welcoming in the clip”, while his side was surrounded by evil people with bad intentions.

“Chip, can you scan for ambient changes? I want to know what happened here!” This almost solidified atmosphere of low repression was unbearable, and Grimm finally gave the chip a secret order.

“Drop, the immediate scanning mission begins... establish dynamic monitoring of the surrounding environment... Drop, drop... discover the source of an unknown odor... southeast direction... distance 500 meters..."

Unknown smell?

Grimm was reminded to take a deep breath and take a slow taste, finally discerning a hint of blood in the stale, damp mist of water. No wonder today's monsters look so excited! Even the bloody smell that you can detect is ten times more sensitive than you are, and they are certainly more agitated by the stirring.

There is no monthly “open day” today! Did an outsider break in?

Grimyan swallowed a bottle of Alan water with his belly full of doubt and pulled his hood and rushed to the southeast.

Alan water, a special witch potion made from Alan grass, effectively closes pores all over the body and eliminates breath leakage. But the statute of limitations is only two minutes short.

…………

Whispering Garden.

Once in a quiet abandoned garden, the moment has become an alarming battlefield of terror.

Not even close, the dreaded Baby Monster Points and Dead Soars, as well as the loud curses of human mercenaries, have spread far into Grimm's ears. Of course, he was more attracted to the intense smell of blood. Grimm approached the battlefield little by little through the cover of trees and wild grass, and soon he found a great spot to see everything up close.

Two teams are fighting on the field.

The attackers are, of course, terrible baby monsters and spirits hoarding here, while the defense is a team of mercenaries of 17.

This is a brilliant and skilled mercenary team with healthy and powerful individual members. Their gear is pretty good, with a solid shield made of hardwood, a small arm shield and a round shield, and almost a pair of bows and arrows to hunt ordinary monsters, of course.

Unfortunately, surrounding them today is Baby Monster, the most terrifying monster in the whispering garden.

Baby monsters don't have feet, they crawl on the ground with a pair of sharp claws, and behind them they drag a long umbilical cord. They are evil twisted, their bodies resemble human babies, but their faces are covered in piles of dead skin, squeezed together by the five officials, and they look ugly and messy.

These tiny monsters kept drilling around in the tall, kneeless, deserted bushes, and the curse of the stinging ears cursed each other upside down. And every sound of babies triggers a scream of horror from human mercenaries.

Don't look at these babies. They're small, but they all have less than 5 o'clock power, which is equivalent to that of a grown man. And their sharp claws are even worse, leaving deep claw marks every time they fly over and are blocked by a shield.

But the worst part is their baby curse.

When Grim arrived, the baby monsters were trying to break through the human mercenary's shield defense with their bodies.

A baby monster used his claws to climb fast in the grass, and then used a blast to crash into the shield that the mercenaries wanted to surround him, but each time he was blocked back by the mercenary's arm shield that he was waiting for. Even a baby monster could not escape and was nailed to the ground by arrows saved by archers.

The baby monster, whose chest was nailed to the ground, remained fierce, digging the dirt with his fingernails wildly, while half his body rose against a nearest human mercenary.

A sharp thrill fell into someone else's ears, perhaps just a loud murmur, but it fell into the ear of the mercenary with the big shield and immediately plunged him into a horrible "spell” effect.

The strong mercenary forsake his shield, his hands tightly against his ears, shouting in horror: "Help me... I can't see anything...”

As he screamed, his closed eyes suddenly left two lines of blood tears, which were alarming to see.

Two more baby monsters burst out of their shapes, ugly meatballs full of smiles, open their crippled mouths, and spike at the “blind” mercenary.

Blind, crazy, confused!

Even the official wizard apprentices have difficulty resisting the curses of the baby monsters, not to mention the human mercenaries from these mortals. Instead of waiting for the mercenary's companion to knock him out, he had crazily knocked over everything in front of him and ran out of the shield wall.

“No...... Bazar, come back......”

It was too late for a middle-aged man dressed like a mercenary captain to cry out behind him.

If someone looks up from above, you can see the grass trembling around the mercenary squad, and a fast, tumbling grassline target points directly at the mercenary who is running away.

“Bazar!” A tough man dumped his big shield and copied the battle axe and tried to rush to rescue him, but the captain stopped him alive.

“Don't go, Tucker! It's too late...” The captain grabbed the strong man's arm and looked away at Bazar's distant figure, full of sorrow and helplessness.

Needless to remind him, soon, in the distant grass, Bazar, who was running around, was thrown down by the baby monsters who kept coming. Only a dozen of the finest were sustained by the terrible and painful hissing, leaving only the horrible sound of the baby monsters biting the flesh wildly.

Though rough grass shielded the mercenaries from feeding the baby monsters, watching only the constantly shaking dead grass and the horrible sound of their teething feet is still enough to make up for the more horrible images. Therefore, the determination and the will to fight the monsters to this day are inevitable beginnings to fall.

Woo……

Suddenly, a head-sized white fireball lashed out of the center of the mercenary army, dragging a long black smoke tail, and shells landed in the area where the baby monsters flocked.

The next second, accompanied by a deafening burst, the terror element flame swells and devours the surrounding space of about 10 meters, submerging everything in a wave of flames.

With just one blow, the unprotected baby monsters will lose more than twenty. Fourteen baby monsters at the center of the element fireball burst instantly turned to ashes, while more or less at the edge of the blast area were burned by flames. At one time, the baby monsters screamed awesome!

Fire magic?!

Hidden in the dark, Grimm watched in silence, his gaze swimming fast, and soon discovered three shapely outfits and several suspicious targets of his own kind in the middle of the mercenary corps.

Black hooded cloaks cover their bodies tightly and firmly, with no inches of skin exposed, but looking at their skeletons, they should be two men and one woman.

Three wizard apprentices on the move?

Due to the inability to visualize each other, it is also impossible to estimate specific strengths. Grimm does not dare to move lightly, sneak out the witchcraft talisman and report the situation to the Wizard Tower.

And just for a moment, the baby monsters who had lost so much money summoned the spirits who accompanied them.

Dead spirits living with monsters, of course, are not low-end creatures like dry skeletons, but bodies of consciousness that are aggregated by strong resentment and horror. They still retain the shape of human beings, but do not have real bodies, and the gifted characteristics that can be arbitrarily transformed between falsehoods allow them to ignore most of their physical attacks and defenses.

In appearance, they are a hazy fiction. The head is relatively clear and gives a clear view of the human face contour. The arms are a pair of sharp ghost claws, like substance, while the lower body is a blurred piece that looks far like the legs have been blended into the void.

As soon as these guys rushed out of the jungle, the sky rang with a thrilling ghost, and the temperature on the field suddenly cooled by a few points.

With these dozens of horrific spirits that almost shield the sky, the defensive circle that was just able to hold on to collapsed instantly.

The dead spirits who falsified their bodies rushed into the crowd uncontrollably, ignoring the sword contradiction in their hands, and caught a horrible bloodstain on them with cold ghost claws. Some more horrible death spirits rush straight into the bodies of mercenaries, occupying their bodies alive and turning to attack their rising companions.

With the gaps they open, evil baby monsters continue to break into the circle, destroying the will of the mercenaries with their own horrible spells, and then dragging them one by one to feed themselves in the desert grass.

The scene became more chaotic and bloody.
