Age of Adepts

Chapter 34 Task Selection

After so many years of knowledge and death experience, most wizard apprentices have long realized that there is no such thing as a way out of the sky. There must be a trap in there!

For these suddenly open apprenticeship-level assignments, there must be a cat in them.

If not, most of the jumping green text on the light screen disappeared as Anderson's wizard waved his hand, replacing it with a generically dangerous orange task and an extremely dangerous red task.

“Those are the apprenticeship tasks that you will be able to undertake in the future, before which each of you will have to complete a mandatory task! You have three months to complete this mandatory task slowly, but if the task fails, you will face the punishment of losing your apprenticeship! ”

Until this moment, the faces of the apprentices really changed.

For apprentices who have confidence in their strength, it is undoubtedly a feast to acquire knowledge points and resources, and for those who are weak, it is probably a death screening that pushes them off the road.

Everyone's eyes cruised quickly on the Mandatory Tasks List, and very quickly, one of the few green tasks at the bottom of the list appeared in the curtain.

Swamp Tower Manned Mission:

Ten apprentices are required for this assignment, including one librarian, one laboratory administrator, one apprentice instructor, and two out-of-town inspectors...

Hope reignited on the faces of several underpinned junior apprentices, forcing them to look at Alan, the promising apprentice elder. And the four “buddies” surrounded by Allen were even more proud and high-toed.

Grimm's eyes quickly moved away after stopping on the only green task and began to scrutinize this list of mandatory tasks.

He was well aware that, with his strength and qualifications, it was simply impossible to squeeze into that poor list of ten. I'm afraid after today's adjournment of the meeting, a private deal that threatens me with fraud will immediately burst into flames, and I'm afraid there are not a few who sneak up on that apprentice Ellen to make up for it.

After all, of the 57 formal apprentices present, only 4 were senior apprentices, 21 were intermediate apprentices and 32 were junior apprentices at the bottom, including Grimm.

Against the mandatory task list, the orange task is that advanced apprenticeship participation can be dangerous, and the scarlet red task can only be safely accomplished, I'm afraid!

It is no wonder that many high tower apprentices, when they see the list of compulsory tasks, are saddened and show extreme pessimism.

“Hmm, I'll go find that Allen and get you a spot. If he dares not give, I...” Mary now doesn't know why she always has a fiery temper with tiny tiger teeth. She always gives Grimm a lovely, sweet feeling, even though she makes a fierce appearance.

Grimm grabbed her wrist.

“Don't go! You have to have faith in me. I can handle these orange tasks!” Grimm's eyes at this moment are firm and calm, with a glimmer of wisdom characteristic of the Wizard Apprentice.

“Well, since you're confident, focus on a good task!” The expression on Mary's face is changing quickly: “Oh yes, my skin is not tender, not slippery? I feel like my skin has been getting better for a while! ”

Watching Mary lick her red lips with complacency, Grim Spirit fought a cold war and quickly let go, trying to focus her mental strength on the task list.

(The area is famous for producing dark grass, ghost mushrooms and night stones, and all harvests during the mission belong to individuals)

……

One row, one column, covers almost all hazardous areas in the periphery of the Sandtalin Association.

In the central part of the Wizard Continent, in order to protect the native ecological warcraft resources, all major wizard organizations and associations strictly forbid high-ranking wizards to engage in the exterminating development of wild continents everywhere. So the more active colonies of humankind collectively account for only 35% of the total area of the area, while the rest are wilderness or primitive forests with vast numbers of hidden warcraft and monsters.

For ordinary jungle beasts and warcraft, local mortals can also rely on powerful armaments for resistance and expulsion. But there are also countless examples of small villages living on the edge of populated areas being slaughtered overnight once they encounter demons with horrific powers.

So every time this happens, the local mortal armament will have to rely on powerful and extraordinary powers to wipe out these terrible monsters that have invaded the human world.

Of course, high wizards don't travel the mountain for this trivial matter, so most of the extraordinary power is contributed by many wizard apprentices. Through these tasks, they acquire resources, grind themselves and, in turn, safeguard the tranquillity of human society.

So this is the lowest level of the wizard system in the ruling architecture of the Wizard Continent.

Grimm looked carefully and meticulously at every piece of information on the Mandatory Tasks list, while the chip that shut down the Active Detection feature was responsible for organizing and summarizing the piece by piece and quickly populated all the information into the database.

Of these many mandatory tasks, Grimm is also limited to the Orange Mission, which he dares not touch.

Orange assignments are labeled externally for advanced apprenticeships only, and there is a certain risk of apprenticeship participation below the advanced level. As for the red task, it is only for the prospective witches, and even the senior apprentice is probably involved in nine deaths and one life.

But after all, this is a fantastic and creepy world of wizards, where there is also great uncertainty about simple tasks marked with security.

Like the largest number of investigative missions, it is certainly risky to go deeper into hazardous areas, but the ones marked in safe areas are not always easy. It is highly likely that some low-risk muddy monsters, earthlings or mosquito manta streams emerge in the vicinity of mortal villages, so that a junior apprentice can wipe them out easily.

Bad luck, or horrible guys like Wing Long, Leg Stone, or Jungle Fairy. We're really going to meet them, and the senior apprentice is also in danger of life.

So picking a task is like gambling, and a bad one could win a grand prize. Every year, 13 per cent of the total number of apprentices are apprenticed to witches who die on mission. This is already a horrible number!

After a quick retrieval and screening of the chip, it quickly listed an orange task for Grimm. These were picked out only after it removed some of the instability.

……

Kragger Alchemy Apprentice Trial Mission (13) Orange Mission

Task Content: An Alchemy Apprentice in Krag is completing his Trial Mission and urgently needs 3 Wizard Apprentices to escort him into the Treasure Well to complete the Trial.

Trial mission completion is considered mission completion and the mission statement is issued by the Alchemy Apprentice.

Mission Reward: 20 Knowledge Points, 3 Magic Crystals, 1 Bottle of Tranquillizer and Invisible Potion

……

This task is not very dangerous. The treasure well is a place of trial that all alchemy apprentices must go through, hiding the "little things” that countless alchemists have kept there for thousands of years, waiting for the later to dig.

Though it is a small object, it comes from Master Alchemist's handwriting and has great research value. Even the heirloom of the master alchemist may be buried in some of the alchemy.

So the treasure well has always been the place for the Alchemy Apprentice to try and find treasure.

But for any alchemy apprentice, access is only allowed once. Inside, you can take a piece of alchemy, and you have to leave a piece of alchemy, which is what the treasure well is all about.

Due to the wide variety of alchemy items in it, there are some dangers. If the alchemy apprentice who enters wants to take away an alchemy puppet, the only way is to beat it first. Most alchemy apprentices were too weak in the early days, which is why the Alchemy Association allowed the trial apprentice to hire three helpers to enter together, although the three helpers were not allowed to take any of the alchemy inside.

Orange missions like this are quite comfortable. The task was well accomplished as long as the trial apprentice was not too greedy and delusional in challenging those who were too dangerous.

Also, tranquillizers in mission rewards are attractive, and can directly improve by 1 point for apprentices with mental strength below 10 points. It's the best babe in junior apprenticeship! (Elevated items only have one effect, multiple uses are invalid!

After deciding on the idea, Grimm quietly told Mary about her choice, and after reviewing it, she also thought Grimm's choice was appropriate. Mary herself, on the other hand, simply chose the red task of exploring the dark hole.

With the properties that vampires can fly to make up for, even if she encounters some of the more dangerous monsters, she has the confidence to save her life, so she chose this task for herself most likely to encounter Fae monsters.

It can be seen that she is extremely thirsty for the blood of powerful creatures in a period of surge in strength!
