Age of Adepts

Chapter 90 Breaking Out the Outer Rim

In the shadow of twisted darkness, canine teeth staggered with asparagus, rock peaks and rock bumps occupy most of the field of view, and empty, silent caves can transmit far and away along curved pits with a hint of noise.

Grimm hits the back of the Demon Alligator Hunter, and the blue flashes beyond his eyes.

Though there was silence and no half-sound, Grimm's dangerous intuition had sounded. Looks like a lot of enemies have arrived!

His eyes rang slightly and a brilliant red flame shield appeared, beginning to spin continuously around Grimm's body. The chips in Grimm's mind are busy, and countless real-time images are constantly matched and contrasted, and a tiny difference in the indistinguishable naked eye is identified one by one by the chip of the fire-eyed gold eye, and then they are sequentially identified on Grimm's retina.

Grimm turned his head to a low-hanging milkstone on the left side of his route, where a shadow was slightly thicker than it had previously been. As Grimm stomped gently, the native hunter in front of him single-handedly held a sharp earth spear of earthen yellow in his hand.

Twisting his waist, under the powerful projection of the native hunter, the earth spear turned into a yellow lightning bolt that instantly stabbed him in the shadow.

In Grimm's sense of sight, there was nothing there, no elemental response, no breath of life. But with the spear penetration, first a nail penetrated the “puff” of the flesh * body, followed by an awesome and tragic hiss in the space of total silence.

The shadow boiled, a human creature covered in fine blue and black scales suddenly appeared in shape, and the earth spear just passed through his chest and nailed it over a stone column.

Warm blood flows out along the spear tickle, and that human creature begins to struggle desperately, and the bigger it struggles, the bigger the spear tears the wound, and the fiercer the runoff of blood.

Pu.

The second spear came across the sky, and a straight hole penetrated its head.

The humanoid creature stopped the motion instantly, and the immobile nail hung on the stone column, leaving only the crisp and pleasant sound of blood dropping down the floor in the cave.

And the next moment, Grimm looked up at the dark top of the wall.

Twelve or three meters above the ground, even Grimm's vision is blurred by the slightest light interference. But as the native hunter threw two spears, another lean human creature fell from it.

The two spear holes just now penetrated its right chest and left leg and did not take its life. Yet just as it struggled to die lying in pain on the cold floor, the crocodile's giant toenails suddenly widened in front of its eyes.

Knock, knock, squeak in the hole when the tomato watermelon is trampled.

The crocodile continues to admire the slow march, until its toenails are lifted again, leaving only a piece of muddy sauce that is difficult to discern form, race, and gender.

There was a sharp whistle in the dark.

When whistleblowing thoroughly dissolves the cave, in the darkness of the distance, countless shadows of darkness begin rapidly approaching in the direction of Grimm, and there are probably more than a hundred people to look at.

In the darkness, the explosion of bowstrings continued, the sharp burst of air coming from all sides, pointing straight at a flaming grime.

Oh, get ready for a gang beating!

Grimm didn't dare either, instantly scattering the flame shield of his body, and then sinking into the giant, fat body of the crocodile as if he were in a swamp.

pū pū pū...

Grimm just disappeared, and his formerly grounded alligator's back was covered in dense numbness and arrows like a wheat field. All the arrows flashed with lush fluorescence, apparently quenching some unknown toxin.

The following native hunter was also stuck with arrows, but he did not care. His hands could not be held over his head, and each time he automatically condensed a spear of one and a half meters of earth elements. And it opens the bow to the left and right, throwing it at the distant lizard hunters.

Some were dodged by lizard hunters and assassins, some were blown up on obstructed rock shoots, and others were directly targeted, instantly wiping out an enemy in the shadows.

It has to be said that the lizard's body is still too weak and thin. In order not to affect the flexibility and speed of movement, they do not evolve in vitro into solid, hard scales like large monsters, but rather grow a layer of fine, thin blue-black scales that serve only to insulate body temperature from leakage.

This evolutionary direction gives them unparalleled potential for darkness in shadowy caves, while leaving them vulnerable to defense. The thick earth spears in the mouth of the cup, no matter where the holes penetrate their bodies, are a terrible and deadly creation. Their slender bodies are simply not enough to counteract such attacks.

The quenching arrows they routinely use face the life of a mud-sculpted indigenous element puppet and have no half-wire effect. These lizard hunters had to pull out their daggers and fly between the rock walls and the stalagmites to the giant crocodile that was still on its way.

At this moment, there is no doubt about the flaws of the absence of magic weapons.

While sharply abnormal, most of the weapons grinding underground special metals tend to be thin and thin, and such weapons are simply not enough to break the glowing mud on the alligator surface. Many lizards continue to attack around the crocodile, plunging the mud slag that was cut into pieces. But a moment later, as a yellow halo flashed through, the mud recovered as new.

They can't touch the crocodiles, but the crocodiles can.

Crocodile attacks are slower, but every large-scale spear puncture can take 3—5 lizards' lives. The crocodile is like a giant tank bursting forward, and the lizards are a bunch of ignorant earthlings carrying bamboo spears and carrying bamboo arrows. The power gap between the two sides is by no means one-and-a-half stars, and the resulting massive casualties are within reason.

Finally, after more than half of the lizard's injuries, a terrible whistle sounded again in the darkness in the distance.

The lizards began to retreat with a low roar.

Until calm is restored around the crocodile, Grimm's body slowly emerges hidden under a thick cloak. He hesitated for a moment and did not drive the crocodile to pursue these enemies.

As you can see, the idea of the territory of the subterranean communities here is very strong, and it is probably too close to their habitat that they have been violently attacked. At this point, they have suffered so much that they appear to be retreating into the nest to defend themselves.

Yet as Grimm drove the crocodile forward, his acute hearing perceived the tremendous screams of distant lizards, as if a new war had begun in the dark.

Grimm was not interested, however, so he stood on the crocodile and looked away to continue his journey.

In the dark shadow, the old Jackal leader hid behind a stone column, remotely measuring Grimm, the grey pointed face full of unseen surprise.

Behind it, a stature correction, in the dark and rugged cave, the flying Jackals are rapidly pounding back to the team of lizards, both sides chase each other in the dark shadow of rocky peaks and stone shoots, sharp daggers throat-splitting constantly in the ears.

If this raid goes smoothly, maybe the bloody lizard tribe will be driven out of the area, and the interests in the ruins will all belong to them.

However, Grey still has concerns about the apparent apprentice who suddenly broke into the ruins.

As he waved, one of his men appeared in the shadow behind him.

“Go, notify Lord Fallen Wizard of the cleft teeth of the City of Los Angeles, and someone else wants to enter the ruins. Let's say our Grey Ear clan can't stop the enemy, the losses are heavy, and the Dark Lizard clan is exterminated by the enemy!” In the darkness, the blood eyes of the old Jackal gorilla blew out, and Moringa's fangs palpitated.

“Yes, subordinates go now! ”

With a slight bow of salute, the shadow turns into infinite darkness.

…………

The further we move forward, the deeper Grimm's worries become.

Behind the front, to the left, to the right, and even below the top foot of the head, the metallic composition of the rock formation is getting higher, and the mud that Fruit is exposed to is getting smaller and smaller. It also means that, once a terrible enemy is encountered here, even he will no longer be able to flee as easily as he used to.

This is really bad news for him that he doesn't want to hear.

Grimm, however, also has to admit that this is indeed a very suitable area for building a city.

In the underground world, the most important consideration for building a city once and for all is the stability and solidity of the geological structure, in addition to considering the surrounding biological, mineral and cited water sources. It's surrounded by metal deposits, and rocky, solid areas are scarce.

The presence of minerals means that there are constant resources here to attract stray merchants, and the availability of water means that there are more lives to feed here than there is a solid “sky”. No one wants to be crushed into meatloaf by tens of millions of tons of dirt and gravel in their sleep!

So Kabi points out that this is the ruins of the last city, and judging by the terrain alone, it makes sense.

Successive passages through the habitat of several underground races may have been affected by the disastrous defeat of the lizards, all clustered in distant darkness, without impulse to rush forward.

So in a crisis scene, the crocodile finally reached the end of a long journey.

As Grimm rode the crocodile through a huge arch, the unprecedented sky in front of him suddenly became empty, and a dark, fantastically colorful, giant melting hole appeared in front of him.
