Age of Adepts

Chapter 295: Everyone Is Powerful

What is Void Stone?

Most wizards are too poor to be able to see the true face of an empty stone in their lifetime!

In introducing the Vacant Stone, the book simply describes it as the core material for building a cross-faceted ultra-long teleportation array.

Such descriptions cannot be miscalculated, but they are not accurate.

Without a void stone, you can actually build a cross-faceted teleportation array, but you need a wizard tower to serve as a space-time beacon for space transfer, and each transmission needs to wear out a lot of magic crystals.

And that means a lot of money and resources, and a long construction cycle.

The construction of cross-faceted teleportation arrays would be acceptable if they were for joint use in peacetime. But if it's for that kind of momentary battle, it's too slow!

You know, in a bloody brutal frontal war, it's highly likely to change the outcome of a frontal war if you build a transmission array one day and transfer more of the past frontal forces. Once the speed of transmission is too slow and the positions established by the wizards in the earlier period are swallowed up by the local indigenous population by virtue of the advantages of the number of people, all previous inputs are considered to be soup.

And what's even more terrible is that the sorcerer who used his family for the war was defeated on the ectopic plane.

This is a tremendous creation that no family of wizards can bear!

Like the Sarubo clan, it clearly won a situational war, but because the number of wizards damaged in the battlefield on the opposite side has approached the threshold for the clan to maintain the rule of all sides, it has caused instability in the dominant clan forces.

If not for the timely return of the main family forces such as Kogan and Grimm, I am afraid the Sarubo family will have to lose 30% of its influence on the Wizards' mainland to regain stability. While these losses can be recovered as the family flourishes in the future, fatigue in the short term is inevitable.

At the beginning of a confrontational war, if the Salubo family had empty stones in their hands, there would be no need to be so excited about the construction of a war witch tower. Find a wild mountain ridge and build a teleportation array with empty stones, so that large numbers of people and supplies can continue to move into the exotic surface.

Until the exotic Aboriginal discovers something wrong and accumulates a large army to come, they will no longer be faced with a handful of witches, but with a formed legion of witches and squadrons of witches waiting for them.

Moreover, a long-range transport array constructed of void stones automatically absorbs the space forces in the void, thus reducing the need for magic crystallization. This saves the wizard family a lot of money.

But precisely because of these superior qualities of the Vacant Stone, it has also become a strategic resource that the aspiring wizard family must accumulate. The appearance of any void stone triggers an open competition among many wizard families, so it rarely occurs in the circulation areas of every region.

Essentially, they have been searched for by large families or organizational forces, and ordinary small families and wizards have no chance of getting to know each other.

Therefore, when the head silver robe enforcer, Randolph, spoke out of the "void stone," the Byron family wizards gathered in the compound were forced to shock themselves and stare at the fist-sized grey puffy stone in Grimm's hand.

Is this the Vacant Stone? Isn't this amazing?

At a time of uncertainty, Grimm grabbed the limestone's right hand and swayed slightly, a strange silver line appeared on the limestone's trajectory, and there was a slight spatial distortion around the limestone.

The sorcerers are frightened!

Without any form of witchcraft and magic, the void can be distorted so easily by its own characteristics alone. It is indeed a famous empty stone!

After the surprise, the wizards' eyes shone greedy and deplorable colors.

Good stuff, really good stuff! Too bad it's in front of everyone! If... if only I knew the news, wouldn't I...

One woman, two men and three silver robe law-enforcers looked at each other and made an immediate decision.

Randolph the Wizard went one step further and shouted, “Lord Grimm, in view of the extremely dangerous space experiments you conducted in the Sky City without permission, I have decided, on behalf of the Space Committee, to seal your space laboratory supplies first. You can go to the Space Committee within three days to file a complaint, when the Federal Parliament will make a fair ruling! Now you can hand over your laboratory supplies...”

“Wait a minute…”

A suddenly loud voice interrupted Randolph's speech, and everyone went according to their reputation, and it was actually the Red Witch Nanali.

“His Excellency Randolph, carrying out dangerous experiments in the Sky City without authorization does indeed require discipline. But if I recall correctly, as long as such experiments do not endanger the City of Sky and the safety of its members, discipline may well be carried out by way of a fine. And Lord Grimm is a guest of our family, so we Byron are willing to pay for his fine! ”

“You…” Randolph glared instantly at his moustache.

As an impartial enforcer of Sky City, he certainly knows that Lord Nanali's rules are in place. If you put it in the past, with the help of a second level wizard, he is naturally willing to send a favor and make things smaller.

But... but this involves a void stone!

And looking at that piece, it's way beyond the standard amount of building a cross-faceted ultra-long teleportation array. If you let something like this go through your eyes, I'm afraid you'll be blamed by all the Alliance MPs when you get back.

“Lord Nanali, you are just talking about the way things are handled in general. And he was conducting an extremely dangerous space experiment, so it couldn't be replaced in this way.” Randolph's righteous interpretation, and his low voice and full of power, amply demonstrate his determination.

Unfortunately, in the face of a void stone that could bring tremendous benefits to the family, it is clear that Nanali Wizard, who is happy to see him, is also reluctant to give up easily.

This group of silver robe law-enforcers is certainly unwise to offend in the City of Sky, but if the price paid is to be able to harvest an empty stone, it becomes untested. As long as the family converges in the Sky City in the future, this group of guys who will only act according to the rules and the law will not be able to deprive the Byrons of their rights at random.

What is before us is clear.

Once this void stone has fallen into their hands, no one will believe such a ridiculous thing, although the other has repeatedly shown that it can be reacquired by complaining to the Federal Parliament.

These stubborn brains aren't very good at fighting, but they're equally capable of turning over the text and deducting "Sky Code” word for word. The ghosts know what they're going to find out from that thick, three-meter tall Sky Code and swallow this empty stone.

Of course, the forcible seizure will not happen, and those Alliance MPs will definitely buy this void stone for a generous and heartbreaking price. But what price can you compare to a sublevel that you can easily get?

Seriously, almost every old wizard family on the mainland will have an unconquered ectopic signpost. One of the most important reasons why they have not yet been conquered is the excessive depletion of resources and personnel for the opening of exotic wars.

Every old wizard family needs a period of time to accumulate. When the resource reserve reaches the minimum level of frontal warfare, and the training of family wizards also has a new blood input, this is the best time to consider initiating a frontal logging.

The only reason I dare not get hungry is because I'm afraid of choking!

But if there's an empty stone, sneak in, sneak up on the transmission array. The influx of large numbers of family wizards and formed witch guards is constant when the indigenous population has not yet reacted.

Is there room for resistance to the subordinate level being targeted by the dreaded means of the wizards?

All you need to do is build a teleportation formation and a complete war witch tower, and the easy gap in that determines the success or failure of a war!

So in the absence of the family being pinched by the silver robe law-enforcers, strive for this empty stone is what the Nanali Wizard must do.

The family interest involved in this treasure is too great for her to fight for!

As law-enforcers in Sky City, Randolph and the others, although usually more powerful, were unable to do what was forcibly seized. Neither could the Sky Guard prevail over the Nanali Wizard, and Randolph could only declare helplessly that he would lead Grimm immediately to the Union Council.

What happened today, it seems, can only be decided fairly by the members of the Federal Parliament!

As the supreme authority governing the City of Sky, the Federal Parliament has 97 deputies (rank 3). Most of them are high-ranking Olympic wizards trained by the Silver League itself, although some of the best-known non-Silver League wizards have also been recruited.

Its parliament hall is one of the most important magical buildings in the entire Central Rim region.

The area governed by the Silver Alliance is also extremely vast, with human settlements in the entire south-western region of the Wizard continent under its protection. A total of 15 regions, large and small, and countries were divided, each requiring the presence of parliamentarians from the Silver Coalition for permanent management.

Moreover, in order to facilitate connectivity and trade, the Silver Coalition also maintains members of the Coalition in various geographical areas such as the Diaspora Tallinn, the Northern Witches and the Wizards' Association. So 97 3rd class senators sounded like a lot, but such a dispensation made them look overstretched and unsuitable for use.

Thus, in the Federation Parliament of Sky City, only 30—40 members of the Federation are truly exercising their authority. And they can't be in the parliament hall all the time, so general matters are decided directly by a rotating five-member parliamentary panel!
