Age of Adepts

Chapter 309: Ancient Castle Exploration

Thirteen days later...

Alice drove to Willic Castle in a cloudy rain.

Many servants, including gardeners, cooks, handymen, waitresses, guards, butlers, etc. are waiting for the black carriage as it passes through the spacious moon-shaped doorways, crosses the narrow stone-paved roads, bypasses the immense Mermaid Fountain and docks in front of the castle's three-storey main building.

Their expressions were gloomy and awkward, and their eyes were more overshadowed with panic.

All that stayed was a contract with the castle, so they were counted as part of the castle's wealth.

When people came down from the carriage, they were relieved.

It was Kerr, Warren, and the four sorcerer apprentices, all “old men” who had served in the castle for five or six years. People are relieved to see them.

And when Alice in a light yellow dress appeared in front of the crowd, they were confused and then officially greeted by four wizard apprentices.

“Come on, break it up!” Alice waved impatiently: “Give me the place to settle down, I'll take care of it later and report back to me. The rest go ahead and finish your work! ”

Everyone hastily complied.

An hour later, after a brief bath, Alice met the castle butler in the second floor bedroom.

This is a scrupulously dressed old man with a pair of golden wire glasses on his nose and white hair, and he is the same old housekeeper who served more than fifty thoughts at Willic Castle. Of course, he has the privilege of serving a wizard master, who also holds the title of nobility.

Lord Wizard's private industry employs a large number of low-ranking aristocrats, which is also the norm!

After all, there are too few ordinary people who can read and write and who can understand calculations.

“Come on, what kind of industry does this Willic Castle have? I want to hear it carefully!” Alice is wrapped in a soft silk robe, reclining in her seat, looking old and autumnal.

Her long blonde hair is still wet as she has just bathed, and from time to time the water drops onto the carpet. She brought the silk robe herself, long enough to pass the knee. As she grew tired in the seat, the robe was tucked away, revealing her snowy white shiny calves and thin bare feet, while the ten small, beautiful toes blooming like petals were noticeable.

In addition to the old butler who came to report, there were four witch apprentices who had just “leaned in", two senior and two intermediate, all with the same low head, who dared not peek at the unique Alice.

Alice pulled a silk robe that slipped off her shoulder, covering that brightly colored magic tattoo. Whenever I see this mysterious tattoo that stretches through my entire upper body, Alice can't help but recall lying on the alchemy bench and being burned through the horror of her skin.

Grimm is tattooed, which Alice already knows.

She even knew that the magic tattoo on Grimm worked wonderfully.

The previous version of the Flamethrower Transformation is capable of doubling its physical qualities, and although it is not long enough, it is enviable enough. And now, with the integration of the knowledge of the otherworlds, the new version of Flame Demon can even achieve a power increase of about three times, which... this is inevitably too counterproductive!

The new version of Flame Demon Transformation gives Grimm a powerful and ruthless Flame Demon body, while the transplanted Flame Demon Heart provides constant flame energy, combining the two to create a super horrible Flame Demon.

As the host's personal maid, Alice now knows exactly what Grim is really capable of.

So when Grimm took her to the secret room and asked her solemnly and mysteriously if she was willing to accept such a magic tattoo, Alice's whole body was boiling.

The answer, of course, is yes.

Being an extraordinary power owner, you will not be excluded from any kind of knowledge and technology that can enhance your abilities, so Alice has no doubt in her response.

But when she lay on the alchemy table baptizing her magic tattoo, she couldn't help regretting it.

It hurts so much!

Is this a magic tattoo? No, it's definitely not.

What's the difference between those alchemists etching magic patterns and witchcraft arrays on witchcraft? It's just a cold, painless thing, and she's a living person!

Burning rays burn flesh, not deep, not shallow, not large, and the thin, silky meat grooves are filled with special alchemy materials in a timely manner. There are obviously special substances in the material that inhibit the regeneration of the flesh and blood, which is the only way to prevent the magic lines from failing due to good health and premature wound healing.

And this huge magic tattoo is almost all over most of the upper body, inevitably passing through some of the more sensitive areas.

When a little bit of burning radiation travels in sensitive areas, Alice must have a strong will of twelve points to control the muscle skin from shrinking due to irritation such as pain or itching. After all, the process of drawing magic marks is rigorous and precise, and any deviation of the position of the lines may cause the magic tattoo to fail.

So Alice has to turn herself into a numb human object when she's sober, so that she doesn't interfere with the drawing of the magic tattoo.

So the four hours of painting a tattoo is a terrible endless torture!

Alice couldn't even climb out of the alchemy table for an hour when Grimm lay down in her ear and announced that the magic tattoo had been successfully completed. In the end, Grimm, the owner, knowingly took her back to her home and settled for half a day before regaining all consciousness.

Grimm specializes in fire lines, so what she paints herself is a demonic transformation of flames, while Alice awakens the blood of the Destiny Witch, and she is good at space talent, so Grimm paints her...

And this, obviously, is also tailored for her!

“In addition to the castle itself, the industry of Castel Willic includes a small estate responsible for providing daily food and drink to the castle, including xxx slaves, xx buildings, xx parcels of annexed land…

There is also a secret cottage, two blacksmith's shops and two bakeries in Van Deere...

Inside the castle, there are xx buildings, xxx rooms, xxx servants, xx barrels of wine cellar, gold coins in stock... "

Alice finally waved impatiently interrupting the noble butler, tired of listing all the castle industries.

“These worldly riches, you form words, just submit them to me. All I want to know right now is, does the dead Sark wizard have any private treasures or collections?” Alice has a little smile on her cute little face like a fine porcelain doll: “You guys haven't disposed of these things already, have you? ”

The faces of the four sincere apprentices revealed a frightening glimmer, and the noble butler pinned his head even lower.

“No, Lord Alice. On the third floor of the castle, the Sac Wizard has his own collection room, laboratory and study, which is strictly closed to outsiders, i.e. the former Miss Celia was not summoned nor allowed inside.” The aristocratic butler had an embarrassing smile on his face: “So there's something inside that we don't know! ”

“Oh, and this?” Alice's eyes lit up immediately.

To be honest, as a sorcerer apprentice, who is not curious about the sorcery lab established by an old wizard? It must be fun to be able to find treasure there!

Immediately after Alice swept back into the screen like a cyclone, when she reappeared in front of the crowd, her tailored grey robe, a short, sophisticated magic wand, a golden birdcage, a smart headband, a neat glass tube lined up across the waist, and Alice's white, delicate fingers were almost filled with magical rings that sparkled with mysterious fluorescence.

Even on Alice's pointy deer leather boots, the magic flashes.

“Okay, I'm ready!” Alice shouted excitedly: “Let's start exploring the Sark Wizard's lab now...”

“We?” The four Wizard Apprentices brushed their heads up, showing ominous signs in their hearts.

“Of course it's us!” Alice is holding her fist tightly and has become desperate: “You are all here to protect me, and of course you are going in with me! ”

The faces of the four Wizard Apprentices instantly became pale.

…………

The Sark Wizard's Laboratory is located on the third floor of the castle's main building.

Along a wooden spiral staircase, Alice and four apprentices successfully set foot on this strange territory.

In front of them is a dark, quiet corridor.

A small candlestick was placed on the walls on either side of the corridor every other section of the way, perhaps sensing a breath of life, and one of the candles closest to them lit silently as the scratch rang. Then a candlestick lights up, a little bit extending deep into the hallway.

The candlelight is dim and just half a metre away from the candlestick.

Bean-sized dusk candlelight jumps, adding a hint of strange mystery to the dark corridors!

Everyone swallowed a sip.

Magic Chamber, Witchcraft Authority, Witchcraft Guardian, Mysterious Weird, Terrible Witchcraft Radiation...

When you think about these creepy things, everyone has to turn their legs and stomachs. If Alice hadn't been watching them in the back, the four wizard apprentices would have split up and fled.

Explore the lab of an old wizard? It's no safer than exploring some ancient ruins!

As an elite wizard, Sark's witchcraft lab doesn't have a vigilance mechanism in place, and I'm afraid no one will believe it if he cheats on children.

This damned Alice was arrogant just before she left, but as soon as she stepped on the third floor, she rationally shrunk to the back of the four Wizard Apprentices, and was upright and supposed to be like this.

“Will, you're ahead!” Alice waved her little fist and commanded.

The guy named Will is just an intermediate apprentice, the worst of the four, no doubt. At this moment, Alice named me and looked back at the eyes of the three companions, knowing that this was inevitable and that no one would help him.

Will could only bite his teeth and remove a white phalanx, adding a white bone shield to himself, which cautiously stepped into the corridor.
