Age of Adepts

Chapter 344: Witch's Secret

Time is almost up.

Whether Alice is afraid or expecting, the day when the Tower of Destiny opens is approaching.

Considering that there is no direct access to the North from the scattering Tallinn region, the only way to pass through the tens of thousands of miles of black forest is to follow a large merchant fleet that has travelled to both locations over the years.

These merchant teams are usually inextricably linked to a faction of Northern Witches and are protected by their own forces, so security is guaranteed.

However, considering that it takes up to two months to pass through the Black Forest, Grimm decided to leave early, well over half a year before the battle for destiny.

So on an ordinary morning, Grimm set out with Alice. And there are only three people in the family who know where they're going.

The journey to Mota City was peaceful, where they took a floating boat all the way north, and in only nine days they arrived in Ibes, a public city in the northernmost part of Jan Di Tallinn.

As soon as he got off the floating boat, Grimm was attracted to the noisy city in front of him.

Compared to other places, it may seem a little messy, but it has a vibrant vitality that is elsewhere absent.

Rushing through the city's long merchant squad with giant beasts, strong barbarians wearing animal skins, huge axes, a half werewolf with a werewolf's head, and mercenaries with lots of backbow and crossbow swords calling friends...

To be honest, Grimm has never seen so much interracial life in a single geographic area.

They all seem to belong to robust and robust warring species and possess minds and wisdom that are no different from those of humankind. Plus, they're also half indigenous in the Black Forest, so almost every merchant team that needs to cross the Black Forest hires them extensively as a guard.

“Let's go, find a place to settle down and then consider which merchant team to join!” By the time we got here, the director was no longer Grimm, but Alice.

Though she is not too old, she has walked through this black forest twice, so she is more familiar with the number and rules here than Grimm.

Led by her, the two men walked out of the floating boat berth through a bustling trading market, which allowed them to enter Ibes City.

Compared to the rest of the scattered Tallinn, Ibes City has far more witches than the Association manages witches stationed here due to its proximity to the North. So with the exception of the tower of cloud-high wizards in the heart of the city, almost all the rest of the city's buildings are built from large logs, giving a feeling of ruggedness and haughtiness characteristic of the North.

Alice didn't take Grimm to visit the Wizard Tower here.

While most traveling wizards are bound to do this, it is easy to draw the attention of witch forces. Especially at this critical juncture, any strange face trying to get in and out of the North will attract special attention!

Originally Grimm thought Alice would take herself to the Moyas' quarters, but who would have thought to go around, Alice actually took Grimm to a business called The Dark Night Rose. And this‘ Dark Night Rose 'is an affiliate of the Dark Witch.

After a skilful and comptoir bargain, Alice successfully booked two accompanying positions at a cost of 200 Magic Crystals per person. And the identities she reported were two ordinary wizards traveling to the North looking for special resources.

The departure date was set to 3 days after all the merchant's supplies had not arrived, so the two had to find a hotel near the merchant's office to stay.

When the two left, the owner hesitated for a moment and reached out to one of his men to greet the store for himself, and he rushed into the backyard.

Here, a large golden tent sits on the grass in the backyard, and the only one who can get in and out of here is a trainee witch in an apprenticeship robe.

After a series of communications, the owners finally met the real leader of the convoy, the Dark Witch Cora of the Second Order, in a golden tent.

The space in the tent is not small and the layout is extremely gorgeous.

The sophisticated, elegant, soft carpet with intricate lines lays at the foot, while the embroidered golden curtains hang all around it, each of which is incredibly refined. It is embroidered with many strange creatures, most of which are special monsters only found in the North.

And a posture, a lazy woman, sits behind a translucent curtain, following a small wooden table, reading the book quietly.

“Oh, you mean, two more strange wizards from our merchants? ”

“Yes, my lord, this has been the third call to the accompanying wizard. As you ordered, I sent them away and came to report it. ”

“What did they start with? ”

“They say they are looking for resources in the North, but they say nothing else. ”

“And women!” The Cora witch behind the tent smiled softly: "There have been more women witches going to the North than ever! ”

“Sir, you mean them too...”

“Whether they are or not! Now that they've found our merchants, they're our guests. Let's just get them safely and safely to the place. You can ignore anything else! ”

“But if they did come for that, would they cause some trouble for the merchants?” The business owner couldn't help but hesitate.

“It would have been troublesome if it had been placed a few years ago.” The Cora witches smiled softly: "The fraudulent witch gangs have gone too far, causing several witch chiefs to join forces in questioning them in the witch council, forcing their chief Angelina to swear that she would never kill another candidate for fate again. So... the trouble you mentioned no longer exists! ”

“Got it, my lord, I know what to do. ”

“Well, go down! Remember to inform them that they will leave on time in three days, if they miss out, they will find another team..."

“Yes, yes...” The manager of the merchant firm lay down on the ground and respectfully gave a big gift to the witch in the tent, which slowly retreated.

Throughout the North, witches have a great reputation!

They possess not only powerful powers, but also owners, guardians and founders throughout the North.

To be polite, the whole of the North is a race from wild monsters and jungle creatures, led by these witches by many followers, every inch of land.

So in the face of any Northern witch, the people of the North feel loved and admired from the bottom of their hearts.

From this point of view, the relationship between the people of the North and the witch community is one of the closest and most harmonious of all witch forces.

…………

And at this point, Grimm and Alice have settled in the hotel.

In the room, Alice is serving as Grimm's temporary teacher, telling him all about the Northern Witch.

Before coming, of course, Grimm had a simple understanding of the origins and ruling structures of the Northern Witches through various channels and books. But it's all scratchy boots, and you can only get a blurred impression of the Northern Witch on the surface, far less than Alice, the authentic witch, explains it more thoroughly and deeply.

It is no longer necessary to dwell on overly complex histories, which Grimm can obtain through books. So Alice focuses on camp relationships and camp characteristics among the major witch factions.

Yes, on the face of it, the Northern Witch is a huge witch force in a huge huddle. But if they are truly thoroughly researched, they will find that the factional relationships within them are complex enough to be suffocating.

If they are as united as a sheet of iron, why are there only seven of the thirteen witch branches left?

Although the ups and downs of each witch faction have their own specific number of lives, six witch branches have weakened to the point of breaking their inheritance. In any case, this situation cannot be explained by the number of fatalities that have plugged the past!

The seven remaining witch factions are fraud, pallor, pain, death, winter, darkness, and hypocrisy, among which the fraudulent witch is good at deformation and lies and is Alice's primary enemy at present.

The White Witch, on the other hand, has a concomitant spirit that is closely related to her life, is immune to most of the physical damage and has the ability to administer it. So getting into a white witch is like getting into a powerful witch and a powerful spirit at the same time, two to one, but they're the best at it!

Agony Sorceress is good at cursing and is one of the most prolific sorcerers.

Dead witches are good at poison and pestilence, and have special skills in making dead spirits.

Rin Winter witches are good at the power of ice and snow, and due to the harsh cold and harsh environment in the North, they are also the best of the seven witch factions.

Dark Witches possess strange abilities that enable them to create a special pool of energy and then preserve their own soul branding. This makes them the least afraid of dying in battle. Even if the battle of glory dies, it will not take ten days and a half months to come back to life in the Pool.

As for false witches, their gifted witchcraft is illusion. Hypocrisy witches are a mysterious group, even within witches, and few have ever seen their true faces.

As for the last witch who went outside Federnand to sneak up on Alice, she was actually a deformed, fraudulent witch. The deformation technique of a fraudulent witch does not seem as simple as a shape-changing disguise, and once it is successful, it can also possess some of the specific abilities of the deforming object.

This is actually the most powerful place for a fraudulent witch!

Alice chose the Dark Witch-led merchant group this time, not the Moya family of the White Witch faction, in order to avoid suspicion.

Alice was also heartbroken by the performance of the family last time!

She doesn't want to be betrayed by her family again.
