Age of Adepts

Chapter 399: Sick Wood Forest

With a clear subordination, the Geg Witch is naturally no longer as lazy on this trip as before.

With the special abilities of his pharmacist, the little monster smells the herbal bag hanging from his wand and immediately hides as far away as possible. This also allows the expedition to avoid many senseless fights!

But Grigg's magic potion obviously works only on monsters, and not on ordinary jungle beasts. And this is the moment to reflect the value of these mercenaries.

Ordinary beasts, the Lovey Three plus Neil, the half-hanged hunter, can handle it. Sabrina, a mechanical girl, will be completely released if she is attacked by a massive herd of animals. The more horrific beasts in her hands are just pieces of meat that can be slaughtered and dismembered at will.

Sabrina could have slaughtered an entire pack of wolves of more than 200 by herself if it hadn't been for the purpose of disturbing an overly powerful monster.

Sabrina, guardian of witchcraft power, is already a near-divine horror in the eyes of the adventurer, but in front of the two witches, she often dares not breathe, and listens to them gently. Even if the figure is thin and dry, it is as if the wind can blow down the Grigg witch, driving the mechanical girl to the same kind of fingering and unscrupulous.

With the full cooperation of the Grigg Wizard, the team naturally travels countless times faster. It only took three days, and they were led by Lowell and others near the destination of the trip.

At first arrival, there was no rush, and the team planted a camp near a hidden canyon.

Sword Shield Warrior Lowe climbed a small slope with two Grimm and Grigg wizards, looking remotely at this mysterious area half a mile away through a gap between lush woods.

Sick Wood Forest!

This is also what the locals call this area of the Black Forest, which covers 50 miles.

The only reason we get this title is because the trees here all seem to have a strange disease, and all the leaves are dead and faded, and they look like sickness.

In all seriousness, the forest is actually a small hill, up to 200 meters. The top of the mountain is flat and soothing, not too harsh a peak. The whole mountain is filled with skinny old trees, leaves half yellow and half green, which look strange.

Ancient trees on earth mountains are not very tall, and thin layers of earth from time to time reveal large pieces of metal rock, reflecting the light of star spots in the sunlight. The roots of ancient trees stretch hard between the earth and the rock, and many places have been exposed to the earth.

The dusty brown soil on the dirt hill carries a hint of scorched yellow, as if the ground was slowly releasing an infinite amount of heat, turning it into a small oven. And the ancient trees on the dirt mountain are baked half-jouled cheese. If this heat is not intermittent, giving them a chance to survive, I'm afraid the whole hill will be bare and barren!

Grimm and Grigg looked at each other and nodded silently.

The morphology revealed in this area of the woods suggests that there is indeed a source of heat underneath. The only way to find out exactly what caused the heat is to risk exploring it.

“There, there is a hole there and there, both small and small enough for an adult to bend over. And in that direction… there is a slightly larger hole, but there are horrible bats everywhere, and it is difficult for outsiders to get inside without shocking them…" Lovey is an adventurer who has lived here for years, even in dangerous areas like the sick woods, he twists abnormally.

Obviously, however, his understanding is also confined to the shallow surface of the woods, and the world beneath the hills is no longer within his reach!

Fortunately, Grimm has obtained some information from the Lin demons, otherwise he will have to venture under his scalp. Even with Grimm's confidence, if one of his blackened eyes crashes into the scorpion lions, the grey face is light. Without paying a price, even with his strength, immortality will be peeled off!

By the time we got here, the Adventurer Squad had actually completed the commissioning mission that Grimm had released. As for deep underground exploration of the underground world, this is not a task that ordinary adventurers can accomplish. Even with Grimm offering more magic crystals, Lowell won't be foolish enough to lead his teammates into the nest of a bunch of monsters.

The magic crystal is good, but the flowers of life are really good!

Grimm did not insist on this, but merely asked them to maintain the temporary camp on the ground. The real members of the expedition remain Grim, Grigg Witch and Sabrina.

In the evening, when the sky darkened again, the crowds gathered in the camp suddenly heard strange noises.

Huge numbers of nocturnal bats flock out of a huge melting hole at the foot of a diseased woodland mountain, shielding even the nearby sky. They circled around the sky, left and right, and suddenly burst into the distant mountain forests like clouds when enough had been gathered.

These day-to-night little guys are finally on the move!

Shortly after the nocturnal bat was out, the newly silenced cave suddenly burst into a loud wind.

With a strange howl, a head as big as a rhino, a frightening scorpion lion in a stunning position flew out of the cave. They circled a half-gliding coil in the sky and landed on a tall pillar near the hole.

The lions have a magnificent body and head full of brown hair with a pair of leathery dark red manta wings behind them and a terrible scorpion tail with a limb behind them. The scorpion tail poison needle rose high and the limbs flashed with a strange glow of blue, which at first glance was no ordinary toxin.

Compared to the size of a scorpion lion, the manta wings on its back appear thin and thin. Obviously, this size cannot hold them up to high altitude, nor can it fly rapidly, but the scorpion lion doesn't care.

After all, a scorpion lion is a rare monster that has lived in the underground world for many years, where the geography is narrow, the terrain is rugged and the wings are simply too big to unfold. So all it has to do is glide halfway down through the wings of the manta, so that it can dive down to the prey.

One, two, three, four... nine...

The three Grims hid in a stone crevice, using powder to remove the odor from their bodies, and watched the movements of the scorpion lions up close.

There are nine scorpion lions, many large and small, but all adult and young scorpion lions capable of working as hunters. It also heralds the presence of two underage scorpion lions in the Scorpion's lair beneath the cave.

After a moment of ‘quarrel’ and ‘disturbance', the Nine-headed Scorpion Lion split into three groups, howling in different directions. They are underground creatures, but the underground world is too food scarce, so they also need to come to the surface every once in a while for a massive hunt to meet the aspirations of the newborn scorpion lions in the community for a lot of blood!

“Go! Let's go meet those two little scorpion lions!” When the Scorpion Lions' figure disappeared completely into the dark night, Grimm waved and walked the two of them to that huge melting hole entrance.

And this departure shows that Sabrina, who exists as a struggle, is carrying a giant cloth pocket with a creep inside that seems to be some kind of living creature.

At first entering the cave, the stench of the pungent nose burst into the air, strong enough to suffocate.

Thousands of bats thrive here, tarnishing the air in the cave, and the floor and stone columns are covered with thick layers of bat dung, leaving no foot in sight.

Grimm stood in the hole and his eyes slowly swept through the interior of the dark painted space, quickly locking an area.

The humid, cold air comes out of it, and behind that intersecting stalagmite of canine teeth there must be a hidden passageway leading to the lower layers.

In Grimm's elemental vision, infrared detection, microlight vision, and hyper-tactile alternation, complemented by the witch's spiritual perception, the darkness in the cave is rapidly retreating and peeling. A wolf-toothed, sharp stalagmite, a stone column leading straight to the top of the hole, hidden cracks between the rocks along the way… all this grim-centered, slowly emerged in his mind.

Multidimensional Scenario Build!

This is also a step by step enhancement of visual perception as Grimm's strength grows stronger.

Previously, Grimm could only see those objects within linear vision, not those hidden behind walls or columns. But now, as his abilities improve and his mental perception grows stronger, his gaze can even bypass obstacles to see what he wants to see.

Of course, provided there is no energy interference, or the walls are not too thick!

And the birth of this capability means that there will be no blind spots in his future battles. Whether the enemy attacks him from any direction or angle, he is able to react in the first place, or attack, or defend, or evade, each time responding more fully to his interests from a more holistic perspective.

“Lean closer, I'll take you in! ”

Grimm whispered and waited until Grigg and Sabrina approached him and grabbed their arms, then his body slightly stopped and disappeared into a sudden burst of fire.

The next second, in a melting hole, the bats dared not approach the dark corner, and the fire rushed to the sky, and the three Grimes emerged.

It doesn't matter, the Grigg wizard, with his strong spiritual strength, held up the sudden shifting feeling of vertigo in space. And Sabrina, as a quasi-witch apprentice, was obviously the first to experience this weird witchcraft of 'flame transmission’. For a moment, she only felt her voice dry, the scene in front of her eyes was confusing, and she took two steps. Her hand held Shizhu's breath for a moment before slowing down.

“Come on, there are two little babies waiting for us inside! ”

Grimm laughed softly and burst into a dark underground tunnel.
