* * *

This world was not yet a time when man had completely overcome nature. There were more undeveloped areas than people, most of which were forests.

Albrecht led the knights with Rosamund and quickly met the forest. One of the knights was from nearby, so he was leading the way.

“Your Majesty! ”

You hear a call from a very long distance that you would not have heard had it not been for Albrecht's abnormal hearing.

I turned around and saw Einhardt racing from afar with his clumsy riding skills.

Albrecht looks back and everyone, including Rosamund, looks back to see what's going on.

“That guy's gross. ”

Carpen smiles in a playful manner.

Einhardt arrives after waiting a long time. After riding his horse to the weight of the day, he had a pale face and a slightly paralyzed face.

“Haven't you had a break in a long time? ”

Einhardt was close to 24 hours apart except when Albrecht was sleeping and taking care of business, so there was no time to rest.

Einhart forcefully loosened his facial muscles, expressing a strange look.

“Phew!”

Rosamund can hardly stand the thought of a smile bursting out of his face.

“Oh, yeah. Haha. What's the need for a writer to take a break? I just sit there and write. Hahaha.”

It was not a period in which mental labor was respected. People used to swear at people who were literally writing what Einhardt just said. You're just gonna sit there and make fun of a pen? Is that a fart?

Albrecht simply joins Einhardt in silence and travels through the forest.

I stepped into the woods and looked around. Snow was piled up in the forest with large, thick conifers unique to the north. As I was crunching, I could hear the sound of the tree branches dropping my eyes because they didn't weigh much.

I walked through the field and into the forest, but I felt a little warmer. It is because the green fir trees always block the wind no matter the season.

“Rose, don't you remember when we went to hunt dragons in the North? ”

“Yes, it is. ”

Despite Albrecht's intent to open his mouth, Rosamund replied briefly. It was a little awkward that there was nothing to be nervous about between the couple. Albrecht scratches his forehead with his pinky face.

Randolph, Hermann and the knights were merely silent horses, and Einhart stared at the king and queen as if to keep them in his sights. Carfen glances back at the queen.

Albrecht was a bit of a talker, and he wasn't much of a talker. So I couldn't lead the conversation anymore. The group is silent.

The successor problem is that we don't talk about it on the outside, but we all know it. I just couldn't say it out loud because everyone knew how much I loved Albrecht's wife. I didn't know how to advise her in the first place.

Albrecht simply watches the snowy forest. The snow is shrouded in silence and pressing against the forest. Some say winter is the season of death, but Albrecht liked winter.

Even before the memories of the modern people came into existence, winter's quietness used to calm the mind.

The group's horses groan slowly, or the knight's equipment groans. The sound echoes quietly through the forest with a steady beat.

Albrecht cleared his mind for a moment, and emptied his mind to allow nature inside him. I looked at the scenery with blue eyes, my ears focused on silence, and I felt cold but cozy air with my skin.

The sun travels diligently on its promised path, and the group arrives at noon for a simple meal. I drank hard bread and cold wine.

Einhardt looks a little painful as he enters the boat with something cold.

We set off again and reached the castle of Wrightingen at dusk. The town below the castle, including the castle, was generally in a wide elevation compared to the surrounding area.

The river flows to the side, and just a short distance north, the Buzzer River bends down and then climbs back up and heads east. It is in shape with rivers on both sides.

The walls were not merely wooden, but plaited with planks of wood.

The villages beneath the castle were not subject to exhibition, but it was hard for people to understand whether winter was short of food.

They stare at the horrified hordes of knights.

Albrecht was so contrary to the poor, in rare silk, in black silk with a tunic embroidered in gold thread and a fur cape.

“The King in the North! Be respectful!”

A knight exclaims, threatening people.

People had no idea Albrecht was the reputed King of the North, who destroyed the Central Alliance. I was furious, and I fell flat on my face to see if he was dead.

“Done. Rise and shine. No harm will come to you. ”

Albrecht says that and enters the castle of Wrightingen. The villagers just roll their eyes and keep an eye on things.

The Lord accompanied his family and followed Balthazar, and it was such a pity that Vin Castle swept away everything, no matter who it was.

It wasn't surprising. The knights enter a one-story, elongated castle built of stone, and take the firewood to the central brazier and set it on fire.

Using an empty kitchen, slice the finely ground flour and pickled meat, put it in boiling water, and stir until the meat soup is complete.

As they swept all the way to the table or chair, Albrecht and Rosamund and everyone else were just gathering by the fire and eating on the floor.

After a long meal, Karfen looks back at Rosamund with a depressed expression and says,

“My queen, have you always been so worried about your children? ”

It was a very sudden, random, rude question. It was a sensitive matter that everyone knew, but didn't dare to take it out of their mouth.

Albrecht's impression frowns. Hermann is merely silent, and the knights inside the intestine turn to Carpen in astonishment. Einhardt breathes his last and watches.

Before Albrecht can say anything, Randolph grabs Carpen first.

“Are you photophobic again? Watch your mouth. ”

Karfen glances at Randolph, ignores him and continues to tell Rosamund. Rosamund is ashamed, unable to lift his head, but he looks only at the soup.

“I'm not saying I've never been married, but it's not just children. I think you deserve to be loved. When I took care of the injured soldiers without hesitation, I felt natural goodness. That's not for everyone. ”

Randolph's eyes are frozen with surprisingly healthy words. So was Albrecht. Karphen continued, not caring about their reactions.

“Even though I ran out of the monastery, I've been eating at the monastery for quite some time, and I know a bit about couples. ”

In this world, it was the power of the Church to govern the marriage. Carpen was also an investigator, so he seemed to have read quite a bit about what it was like to be married while studying theology.

“Married couples are those who are joined by love, who trust and depend on each other and live together for the rest of their lives. Don't you think it's most important that she loves you and you love her? Leave the baby to the gods. The queen needs to keep her strength up, because she's perfectly normal. ”

Albrecht didn't know if it was insulting or advising him. But I was not offended by the fact that I was able to see through the nature of it and comfort Rosamund.

Rosamund wept silently. Randolph, Hermann and the knights look to Rosamund with pity.

Rosamund was naturally kind enough to take good care of his subordinates, so he was hopeful for his commanders, knights, and soldiers. But the issue of the king's successor was a slightly different realm.

In this era, even the commoners were sensitive to royal affairs. Perhaps it was an age where transportation and communication had not developed, and many of nature's things were full of unexplained unknowns, so they tended to rely mentally on the monarch who ruled them.

That's why I was sensitive to scandals like government or bastard children, and I needed an authentic successor to find peace of mind.

Therefore, the special couple, the king and queen, could also see that it is a duty to have an authentic successor, not a personal domain.

Rosamund was well aware of this. As a woman living in this age, as the wife of her beloved Albrecht, and as a queen, I felt that I was not fulfilling my duty.

Rosamund glances at Carfen with tears in his eyes. As the beautiful queen wept bitterly, everyone watching her seemed to be heartbroken.

“But, but, Detective, I failed to fulfill my duties. As his wife, as his queen, he couldn't do the most basic thing. ”

Even Carfen loses his grin and looks at Rosamund. Then he tried to smile and said.

“When I saw you leave the Divine Constabulary and leave, I didn't think it was normal. I don't think I'm in a relationship with a better king or anything. He just felt like he was doing his job. ”

Karfen, who is not confident in himself, speaks to the queen with all his heart.

“Then, just love your master. It's not a crime, it's not audacity. A couple loving each other is the most dedicated act toward God. If you don't stay away from your husbands and love each other because of your children, it's backwards. It's blasphemous to God. It's just making each other unhappy. It's foolish.”

A line of wise horses line up from Karfen's mouth. Albrecht was really surprised and saw Carpen again. I just thought he was a weirdo with a geeky personality and good skills, but I didn't think he'd be so thoughtful.

Randolph looks at him with a look of what Carpen ate wrong. Hermann and the knights were just listening solemnly, and Einhart observed people.

Rosamund leans back against Albrecht with tears pouring out. Albrecht wraps his arms around her shoulders and hugs her.

When Rosamund felt her husband's loving touch, he stopped feeling overwhelmed and burst into tears, burying his face on Albrecht's chest.

During that time, I felt like the snail had cleared up while I was moaning alone. It felt like I was being forgiven for my sins. Can I really love Albert with all my heart? Do I deserve it?

Albrecht hugs his wife into his arms. The knights simply stared at the furnace without saying a word. Only the sound of the burning firewood and the queen's mourning cry echoes through the bowels.
