All My Professions Have Divine-Level Talents

Chapter 418 - 218: Don’t Ask, the Answer is Inspiration (2)

I still have today’s second simulation.

I’ll just wait until tonight.

Because it’s uncertain where I’ll end up after April 1st.

The future has become extremely chaotic.

Right now, there’s no way to know the specific events I’ll encounter in 30 days.

But fortunately, I can leave messages for myself.

It’s like summarizing the insights and experiences of the last 30 days all at once, right on the 30th day.

Unfortunately, I can only record things that can be written down on paper.

Some special insights, however, can’t be recorded.

Root Magic can’t be learned just from notes.

"Oh, right, Iz..."

"A few days ago, I met a friend from another continent. He’s a Root Mage, and I plan to bring him over now."

Iz said, "Hmm... Since you have something to do, go ahead."

"I was hoping to discuss the future evolution of these Arrays with you..."

Lu Cang gave a wry smile. "Iz, to be honest, I only drew these Magic Arrays based on intuition. I can’t really explain the principles behind them."

"If you want to discuss it with me, I really can’t say much."

Iz held the blueprints of the Magic Array, lost in thought.

"Intuition..."

"Speaking of which, it’s true I’ve been relying too much on logical thinking."

Iz stared at the blueprints, murmuring, "Knowledge is the rehearsal of the known, using what you already know to deduce the unknown. But premonitions and intuition... they allow you to directly perceive realms you have never known."

"Perhaps I should try to feel it with a pure heart instead of relying so much on current theory. That makes sense. The Root Source is incomplete, which means our theories are incomplete too. Logic alone can’t possibly fill in the gaps."

"Magic is incomplete. There must be theorems within it that are absolutely unprovable yet might actually exist. Since they can’t be proven with logic, the only way is to feel them with your heart..."

’What is he muttering about?’

’Is Iz about to go off the deep end with this?’

’Should I give him a heads-up?’

’Otherwise, he might walk into a dead end and not be able to get out.’

But on second thought, Lu Cang decided against it.

’It’s a bit much for me to be worrying about Iz’s magical research.’

’Besides, I’ll see if it’s useful or not after tonight’s simulation.’

Iz slowly closed his eyes, emptied his mind... and tried to feel with his heart.

Dusk and Jie Zhu stood off to one side.

The two of them exchanged glances...

’Seriously, is there any reason for the two of us to still be here?’

’He’s done all the work by himself.’

Dusk was doing okay. He specialized in Space Magic, so he had at least offered one small suggestion for a change.

As for Jie Zhu, he had pretty much no insight into Space Magic.

As a Root Mage, his understanding of Magic was, after all, a cut above that of an Ordinary Mage. Given enough time, he could probably understand Space Magic and make himself useful.

The problem was that almost everyone participating in this magical research was a monster. Jie Zhu, a once-lofty Root Mage, now felt like he was just there to fill a quota, completely out of his depth.

He was just standing there, not knowing what to do.

He finally had a small idea, but before he could even sort out his own train of thought, the others had already completely revised the entire plan.

And his own little idea couldn’t even keep up with their rapid progress.

"Dusk, do you think... we..." Jie Zhu started to say something.

But Dusk’s expression suddenly turned serious. He clapped Jie Zhu on the shoulder. "Brother Jie Zhu."

"Actually, I just had an epiphany."

"Say no more. I’m going to go advance to a Level 5 Mage right now..."

’Huh? An epiphany, my ass!’

’Didn’t you just advance to a Level 4 Mage last March?’

’It’s been less than a year and you’re leveling up again?’

"I’m off."

With that, WHOOSH, Dusk vanished on the spot.

’No way, you’re really going for Level 5?’

’I used to be a higher Level than you, and now I’m really the weakest one here?’

Jie Zhu had always considered himself one of the top Mages; he was a former Chief Mage, after all.

And his Root Magic was "Magic from My Heart."

It could seize Control of any Ordinary Magic of an Equal Tier or lower.

It was a trump card against nearly any Mage of a lower Level.

And yet, he had somehow become the weakest of all the Root Mages in Ruelun?

Thinking of this, Jie Zhu laughed out loud.

Dammit. It was so infuriating it was funny.

...

「Kernoya—Bishi Tavern」

A white-haired old man sat alone at table number 14 in the tavern.

The tavern was a cacophony of noise, but he remained immersed in a white-covered book.

He had reserved table number 14.

He had paid the high price of 100 Gold Coins to reserve it for an entire month. No matter who came or when, no one else could use this table.

Because Lu Cang had left him a message, telling him to wait here.

WHOOSH—

Suddenly, his Perception stirred.

A rather small figure emerged from the crowd.

"Tang Rui."

Lu Cang spoke.

The child’s figure was starkly out of place in the tavern, yet strangely, no one around seemed to notice his presence.

"Are you the person I’m supposed to meet?"

Lu Cang nodded slightly. "I am."

"The one who brought me out, was that also you?"

Lu Cang said, "Regarding that matter, I think it’s in the past and there’s no need to discuss it further..."

"What I want to understand is about your Root Magic."

Tang Rui smiled faintly. "So, you’re after my Root Magic."
