Chapter 449 - 231: Miselux - Atlantis City
"But is it really safe in Lorren?" Yuna asked, her tone serious.
"Hmm..." Lu Cang murmured.
’I really can’t guarantee that.’
’I don’t know how much continent-destroying power the Moon Sea possesses, or what its attitude is toward uninvited guests like us.’
Lu Cang replied, "Actually, there’s no need to decide so hastily. We still don’t even know where Iz and the others are."
Lu Cang thought for a moment before adding, "However, there seems to be a continent nearby called Miselux."
"I might not be able to bring you along forever, but it should be fine to go explore the continent of Miselux for a while."
"Miselux?" Yuna asked.
"Yes," Lu Cang said. "It’s a continent with a lot of Beastmen, though it also has many human city-states."
"Using the Miselux Continent as a reference, we should be in the southeastern region of the Moon Sea. The Land of the Moon is at the center of the Moon Sea, so to get there, I’ll need to head northwest."
"So, I think it’s a good idea to check out Miselux."
During one of his dry runs, Lu Cang had bought a map of the Moon Sea in Miselux.
That one map had cost 150 gold coins.
It could only be purchased from a highly specialized cartography shop and was an extremely expensive item.
When spread out, the entire map was large enough to cover the floor of a 500-square-meter house.
It detailed islands of all sizes, shipping lanes, continents, Demon gathering spots, suspected deep-sea Nest locations, Life Forbidden Zones, ancient ruins, primeval forests, and hazardous waters...
...all meticulously marked out.
The map was rumored to be the masterpiece of a Level 8 Observer. Apparently, the condition for a Level 8 Observer to advance to Level 9 was to create a complete map of the entire world.
For some unknown reason, this map of the Moon Sea created by a Level 8 Observer had found its way into circulation, eventually... becoming a commercial product.
Still, 150 gold coins for a single map was certainly a bit steep.
The map was huge, but it was ultimately just a replica of the original.
So, the 150-gold-coin price tag also included special annotations from the shop owner.
The map was already many years old. Over that long stretch of time, the seas around Miselux had undergone many changes.
That’s why the owner would add his own annotations to the map based on his experience.
That was what made it worth 150 gold coins.
The Moon Sea was just too vast. Even a continent as wide as Miselux—which from the west of the Lorren Continent looked like an unbroken line on the horizon—was just a tiny dot on the map.
As for the other islands near Miselux, they looked like mere sesame seeds on the map.
After he bought the Moon Sea map, the owner had also thrown in a complimentary local map of the Miselux region.
On the local map, Miselux finally looked like the behemoth it was.
Of course, Lorren, having only just been teleported into the Moon Sea, was nowhere to be found on any map.
Lu Cang continued, "Miselux shouldn’t be too dangerous. If the Moon Sea proves to be a real threat, we can decide then whether to travel together to the Tree of the World Center or the Land of the Moon."
’I’ll have to leave Lorren sooner or later anyway,’ Lu Cang thought.
’I can’t stay here and guard this continent forever, nor can I guarantee anyone’s safety indefinitely.’
’Besides, Yuna is the source for some of my Scholar abilities.’
’Without her help, my ability to process knowledge would slow down considerably.’
’There’s also the matter of helping Yuna advance. To ensure that happens, it’s better to bring her with me. Otherwise, who knows when I’ll be able to return.’
’The Secret Sand Archipelago isn’t exactly a central region of the Secret Sea, either.’
’If I had to make a comparison, the Secret Sand Archipelago is probably like a remote mountain village within the Secret Sea.’
’I’ve never even seen the truly prosperous continents of the Secret Sea.’
"Okay, I’ll go," Yuna responded immediately.
Lu Cang sighed. "Yuna, before you make a decision, you should really ask your parents first."
’Letting such a young child run around all over the place with a stranger...’
’Can her parents really be okay with that?’
To his surprise, however, Yuna replied immediately, "I already asked them. They said that if you agree, I can go with you."
The corner of Lu Cang’s mouth twitched.
’What kind of parents are these?’
’If I had a daughter and found out at eight years old she wanted to run off to the ends of the earth with some little boy, I’d do more than just stop her—I’d probably break the boy’s legs.’
’As expected, the values in this Otherworld are completely different from those on Earth.’
...
「March 25th—8:00 AM」
’Iz and the others should have taken care of An Zheng by now, right?’
’After that, they have to ambush and kill that Executioner from the Death Church before they’ll teleport.’
’When that happens, I should be able to guess where they’ve teleported by watching for a change in the Life Pointer.’
’Boundaryless Mountain is in the western part of the Moon Sea.’
’Although I can’t confirm they’ve reached Boundaryless Mountain just because the Life Pointer is pointing west.’
’But as long as the Life Pointer isn’t pointing west, they’re most likely still somewhere in the Moon Sea.’
’Even if I really can’t tell, I can always contact them later using a World Dove or a long-distance communication Ritual.’
As Lu Cang mulled over his next move—WHOOSH!
He used Space Magic and appeared in Lu Luwei’s room.
"Er... Lu Luwei, what a coincidence."
Lu Luwei’s fist clenched.
