Chapter 412 - 216: Precise Prophecy (Part 3)
The fourth pre-enactment foresaw events up to March 25th.
It seemed Iz had decided to move up the date and kill An Zheng on March 25th.
On that same day, the light of teleportation flared across the entire continent, and all of the Ruelun Continent was transported away.
...
The events of the pre-enactment had undergone an earth-shattering transformation compared to before.
’It feels like destiny is starting to churn in chaotic turmoil.’
’I know more now, it’s true.’
’But the unknowns and doubts have multiplied as well.’
「March 7th—」
Lu Cang arrived in Tarabella. Most of this continent was desert, dotted with numerous ancient ruins.
It was said that a great number of these ruins had yet to be fully excavated.
The nations of Tarabella had built their fortunes on these ruins...
Rumor had it that Tarabella was the wealthiest of all continents, with each nation hoarding vast collections of treasure left behind from ancient times.
On March 9th, Lu Cang left, taking the treasures of those nations with him.
「March 11th.」
Lu Cang returned to Lorren, setting foot once more on familiar land.
WHOOSH—
"Sir, you’ve returned." Seeing Lu Cang’s return, a maid immediately approached with an elegant gait to attend to his side.
Lu Cang: "Mm."
The maid said respectfully, "Lady Kumironi came to visit yesterday. She was looking for you."
’Kumironi...’
Lu Cang: "Understood."
WHOOSH—
Lu Cang’s figure flickered slightly and vanished before the maid’s eyes.
When he reappeared, Lu Cang was already inside the Life Church.
The resplendent, jade-green hall.
It had lost its usual lively clamor, replaced by a silent and solemn atmosphere.
After landing, Lu Cang looked toward the young woman in green robes beside him.
"Sister Kumironi, I’m back."
Kumironi: "Little Lu Cang..."
Lu Cang’s Perception swept through the Life Church, and he detected many "unfamiliar" new faces.
’It’s not that I don’t recognize them, though.’
’I’ve seen all these people in the pre-enactments.’
WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH—
One figure after another gathered before Lu Cang, their tall forms seeming to loom over him and block out the light.
One of them, a muscular man with black hair, looked at Kumironi and asked, "He’s this generation’s Prophet?"
Lu Cang: "Yes, I am the Prophet."
The man continued to question Lu Cang directly. "You’re the one who said the Secret Sea is going to be destroyed."
He stated bluntly, "Kumironi reported this a few days ago."
"But even our Church’s highest-level Divination Masters haven’t divined the Doomsday you speak of."
"An event as major as the complete destruction of the Secret Sea would surely make massive waves in the Destiny of all things. And yet, right now, no matter who it is... no matter which Church, not a single person has foreseen any omen of the Secret Sea’s impending destruction."
"So, I’m very curious..."
"How can *you* be so certain of the Secret Sea’s destruction?"
"Did *you* witness the scene of the Secret Sea’s destruction? And what prophetic evidence can you produce?"
"This matter is of grave importance. Level 1 Prophet, are you aware... that spreading panic-inducing rumors in the name of prophecy is a serious crime?"
The man’s tone was serious.
It carried a heavy, underlying threat.
Lu Cang met his gaze calmly.
’In truth, I’ve never witnessed the destruction of the Secret Sea firsthand. During this time, I’ve pre-enacted many different versions of the Future.’
’But on April 1st, I’m no longer in the Secret Sea.’
Lu Cang had considered the idea of ’staying put, not going anywhere, and seeing just how the Secret Sea would be destroyed.’
But even with that thought in mind, when he foresaw the Future’s Destiny...
...he still saw himself having already left the Secret Sea, appearing in various places around the world.
And appearing in those other regions alongside him was the entirety of Ruelun.
From the results of the Future, it seemed Izparut would teleport the entire Ruelun Continent away. If he didn’t leave with this mass teleportation, he would be separated and end up a vast distance away from Ruelun.
The destination of the teleportation wasn’t fixed.
It could be the Moon Sea, the Boundaryless Mountain, or the Muddy Sea. Sometimes, he appeared directly in a barren stretch of deep space, much like the cosmos of his previous life—empty and vast, where one could see distant planets.
Lu Cang had pre-enacted that particular Future as well.
In that pre-enactment, Lu Cang left the teleported Ruelun Continent and flew toward the nearest planet.
But after flying for a full twenty-four hours, he failed to reach any planet. The only things close to him were mere meteorite-like fragments.
’Appearing in this place, I can’t help but feel this might be the universe from my past life.’
’Perhaps my hometown is out there somewhere. But unfortunately, that pre-enactment failed to uncover any information about this place.’
The Future was constantly changing, but there was never one where he stayed behind to witness the destruction of the Secret Sea.
’What I’ll do in the future does, to a certain extent, depend on my current thoughts.’
’But thoughts alone aren’t enough.’
’If you want to change the future, you need resolve in addition to ideas.’
’And given my personality, no matter how much I might think about staying...’
’...when the day of danger actually arrives, I’ll still choose to leave.’
Leaving with the entire continent would, at the very least, guarantee a relatively safe environment.
Besides, the people he knew would be by his side.
But if he didn’t go, he’d have to stay and face the destroyed Secret Sea. And who the hell knew if he could survive a catastrophe that terrifying.
