Chapter 416 - 217: Left Foot on Right Foot, Spiraling to Heaven
Although he didn’t understand the principles, he memorized all the design drafts for the complete Magic Array.
In total, there were about fifteen thousand blueprints...
The core section alone consisted of nine hundred drafts.
It was hard to imagine how this superhuman managed to construct so many spells in one go in just over ten days.
This "Continental Random Teleportation" was a Compound and Fusion spell.
Fusion Magic involved combining two different spells to create a new one.
Compound Magic, on the other hand, was like multiple interlocking gears, layering effects on top of each other.
Much like building a machine from individual parts, Compound Magic often used multiple, interlinked spells to construct a massive one.
This was an essential skill for a Level 6 Mage.
Level 4 Mages mastered Space Magic.
Level 5 Mages mastered Fusion Magic.
Level 6 Mages, in turn, mastered Compound Magic. This was the point where they gained the ability to construct massive spells with enough power to pose a destructive, continent-level threat.
Of course... Compound Magic wasn’t that easy to learn.
One prerequisite for casting Compound Magic was... the ability to cast multiple spells simultaneously.
And for the vast majority of Mages, that training alone was an almost insurmountable task.
Iz exclaimed in amazement, "How on earth did you come up with this?"
When asked, Lu Cang replied without batting an eye, "Inspiration and intuition, I guess. I just felt like this was how it should be."
’Intuition? You just felt like it?’
The three onlookers were stunned speechless.
’If magic is something you can just ’feel’ your way through, then what was the point of all our years of arduous training?’
’Lu Cang only awakened as a Mage half a year ago... He’d never even encountered magic before this!’
"Hmm! That really is some good intuition."
Iz believed him.
"Haha, it seems your talent for magic really is impressive, Lu Cang."
"Much higher than for being a Warrior!"
Lu Cang decided not to dwell on why Iz believed him; he had a feeling the answer would be rather demoralizing.
Instead, he casually drew from the stack of drafts piled to the side. The papers arranged themselves before him like a wall.
His eyes scanned over each Magic Array, one by one.
The complete version of this spell was a grand Space spell, composed of fifteen thousand individual Space Magic spells...
It was capable of teleporting an entire continent.
But right now, there were only three thousand drafts.
"Iz."
"Here, here, and this spot... What do you think of these changes?"
With a single thought from Lu Cang, his Magic Power flared. It surged across the drafts arranged like a wall before him. As the patterns on the paper shifted, he finished modifying each of the diagrams.
’Wait a second...’
’Dude, slow down! Those are the originals!’
The original drafts had only flashed before Lu Cang’s eyes for an instant. Dusk himself hadn’t even had time to figure out which sheet was which, let alone what effect each one produced.
The next thing he knew, Lu Cang flicked his finger.
WHOOSH—
’And he fucking changed them all!’
’Wait... what did you even change? What did the originals look like? I haven’t even processed it yet!’
Meanwhile, Iz was standing right beside Lu Cang.
His Perception swept over all the drafts. After a long moment, he nodded seriously. "Not bad..."
"These are all excellent changes, in fact."
Iz pointed to one of the blueprints. "This part here... if we base it on the geographical properties of Ruelun, the Elements will align perfectly."
He then looked toward another section. "Here, by inserting the concept of integrity from the Root Source, you’ll be able to maintain the entire spell’s wholeness to a much greater degree."
"Your other changes also account for the interconnectedness between each of the Arrays..."
"With these changes, the range of this Random Teleportation Magic can be doubled."
"If we add a few more Compound Magic Arrays, it might just be enough. We should be able to advance the timeline considerably."
’Double?’
’Huh?’
’Dude, you just got here. You haven’t even sat down yet, and you’ve already doubled the range?’
Lu Cang’s Perception swept over more of the blueprints, which rose into the air one by one.
At the same time, under the surge of Lu Cang’s Magic Power, various Array Maps began to appear on sheet after sheet of blank paper.
"Iz, my understanding of Space Magic has grown quite a bit recently. Now that I’m seeing the Magic Arrays you’ve constructed, I feel like the ideas are just flowing."
"It feels like the inspiration is endless..."
SWOOSH—
Blank sheets were filled with new drawings, one after another, while the already completed drafts were modified.
Right in front of everyone, Lu Cang drew the remaining twelve thousand uncreated drafts, one after another, all in one go.
’No way... Dude?’
’What in the world are you doing? A moment ago, when you made those few changes, I actually believed you were having a burst of inspiration.’
’But what’s this about drawing over ten thousand blueprints in one go?’
’Are you even pretending anymore?’
’Even if you were copying the originals word for word, you couldn’t possibly be this fast!’
