All Things Wrong

Chapter 2267 Siege

The walls of the city of Hilletiles are now full of Secuthors, and, of course, most of the city's civilians are now standing on the walls. Yes, the church, of course, finally adopted the method of convening civilians to defend the city, and Sonia, of course, was temporarily persuaded by Li Wylin.

The idea of these civilians is simple, and in fact they have not experienced any war, and if they hear that the great Bayaki god they believe in needs them, then they come forward, and they don't think about the cruelty of war or anything.

After all, the city of Hilletiles was the main city, well prepared for armaments, and every civilian received a weapon, which was then sent directly to the city wall to stand. Those directly affiliated with the Church are now temporarily promoted to small officers who lead these civilians, after all they are at least militarily trained, and although they may be as good as these civilians in combat, they are at least able to carry out and deliver orders.

But most of them don't know what they're up against right now, and there's even people chatting on the walls of the city, as if they're coming to the suburbs. This relaxed scene lasted until Lee Wylin's troops arrived.

When the enemy forces appeared, the whole scene suddenly calmed itself down because there were too many enemies. They didn't need much eyesight. They looked out of the city from the walls and saw a piece of red torch, and it looked like it was even a fire. This feeling of soldier pressure weighs heavily in everyone's heart and, of course, can't tell the joke.

The siege began immediately, and Li Wylin's troops were almost unprepared to attack immediately. Seeing the flaming sea pouring towards their main city, Sectore civilians in the city hurriedly attacked.

As soon as the battle broke out, the civilians immediately realized the cruelty of the battlefield, which was no joke at all, and the friends who had been talking to them might have been directly shot by bows and arrows the next second, and then fell down the walls and turned into powder. There was chaos on the battlefield and civilians had no idea what to do. Fortunately, the immediate forces inside were still shouting at them to fight back, and they had to follow orders mechanically to find a way to fight back.

This way of fighting back is, of course, random. As I said before, the city of Hilletiles is still well equipped. Theoretically, it is of course sufficient for defense. But the question is, these armaments are for soldiers. For example, if you say bows and arrows, there are a lot of them, but the vast majority of civilians, do they use them? If you can't pull the bow, forget it. Even if you can pull the trigger, can you pull the trigger? That is why the civilian forces have responded with appalling inefficiencies. And the more reliable way they've come up with this is to smash things.

Yes, lifting something straight down is a lot more effective than using a bow or arrow or something harder to use, which is a lot less skillful than a bow or arrow. But the problem is... it's obvious that Hilletiles City's stockpile won't take this into account. They have a lot of bows and arrows, but stones and stuff...

Of course, the way people come up with it, what if there are no stones? All together, let's demolish the house. It's not so many houses in the city, it's not all stoned out. Now the church needs you to contribute your own house, so you have to get out of here and put on a sleepy gesture.

So the city immediately set up a demolition squad and a moving squad. This way, the house was demolished and moved over the city wall, and the soldiers below started smashing it.

Don't tell me it worked really well. It never occurred to anyone that such a defensive battle could still be fought in the same way. After several consecutive attacks by ethnic invading forces in the previous hours, they were all beaten back by this temporarily assembled civilian force, and so far no one has ever climbed the walls, let alone broken the city or anything.

The whole church would be thrilled to hear such news. I didn't expect it to go so smoothly. Didn't you say this unit was strong? You can destroy their third legion at random. What's wrong now? There's absolutely nothing wrong with this fighting power.

The news made Sonia look at Li Huilin next to her a little worried, but Li Huilin immediately gave her a reassuring look, as if everything was under control.

Yeah, that's all Li Wylin had in mind. Sektor's civilian defenses are so inefficient here, but where do you think Lee Wylin's troops will be able to strike more efficiently? In fact, Lee Wylin's troops have no choice but to take this wall now.

The walls of the city of Hilletiles are a little exaggerated, a little bit of a heartbreaker. Li Huilin actually thought the wall was still easy to solve. If you can't, find yourself a dragon to shoot it anyway and it's over. But then I realized it wasn't that simple at all.

Here's the giant black stone column that appeared after the last clearance of a copy on the Chinese mainland, which is obviously what Bayaki created to contaminate the mainland, and that black stone column has been spraying black smoke. Someone said that destroying this black column directly would be the end of it. Someone did say that, but they tried it. The black column didn't know what the material was made of. It was really unusually hard. Don't say it was anything else. Find a sword and come directly at this column. There was no reaction.

It's obviously almost indestructible, but why talk about it, because the walls of the city of Hilletiles are made of this material. According to the Sektor Star Monster themselves, these Sektor people were weak and uncivilized when they followed Bayaki, and even self-preservation was problematic on this dangerous continent. It was then that the great god of Bayaki, who understood their suffering, stood up and gave them such a fence and shelter. It was only then that they built cities inside the fence that they slowly developed. And what we see now is a wall of stone built on the walls of that year, and that's what happens now.

Of course, it's a legend, and I don't know exactly what happened that year. According to Lee Wylin, it's presumably Bayaki who wanted to build a base here to protect his defense facilities, or something, and he misled the Secutor people into thinking that he was a blessing. But the question of authenticity, Li Wylin has asked Sonia to prove it, and the walls are really hard to do.

Lee Wylin's troops don't really have a solution to this wall right now. The biggest problem is that they don't have any siege gear. They caught some simple siege gear when they were at war with the Third Corps. But those siege gear were carried by the Third Corps to support the siege troops in the east. That was prepared for the city of Willings to that extent, and what are the consequences for the city of Hilletiles at this level? To give a simple example, the ladders in their hands, two front and two rear, could not reach the top of the wall under the city of Hilletiles.

So don't look at Li Wylin's troops attacking the city so fiercely now. A soldier carrying this bridged ladder doesn't have to rush to the wall. In fact, even if they rush to the front of the ladder, it can't be erected, it's not long enough.

So Li Wylin didn't want them to shoot down the city in the first place, which is basically impossible, unless all their soldiers can fly. And Li Huilin, of course, did this just to pretend. In fact, the soldiers carrying the cloud ladder were going to get smashed. Even if they were lucky enough not to get smashed, they would go to the city wall and lie on the ground themselves, as if they had fallen injured, and then climb back slowly. Anyway, now that the battlefield is so chaotic, no one will care if these people are hit or not.

The sieges appeared to be huge. In fact, they were all just pretending. Li Wylin's side did not do everything possible to fight them. The troops in these attacks were basically reserves, not major forces at all. Casualties are also very limited. You look like people in the city smashed it very effectively. You hit the attacking troops back several rounds. You feel the loss of attacking troops is very similar, but in fact, Li Wylin's troops rarely go near the city wall. How far can you throw things? In fact, many of the people who fell were running and falling somehow, as if they had been badly hurt. And of course, it did get smashed and wounded again, but it certainly didn't look that much.

Lee Wylin had the troops pretended to be something else, of course, so he would come to the church now to continue "reporting secret information."

After hours of fighting, hours after hours of fighting, Sectore civilians on the walls of the city were almost exhausted. Even if their ethnic talents are strong, they can't play like this. How tired are they of throwing stones? But it seems to them that the current situation is not bad, at least they didn't call at all.

And now the battle seems to have stopped, the other side did not blow the horn of the attack again, and now the troops are slowly retreating. It feels like they are ready to take a break first, which also allows them to breathe a little. After all, the battle is too hard.

On the other hand, Lee Wylin's commando units are already preparing for the raid.

“Your Majesty, will they really open the gates? In this case?” MacKen couldn't help but ask.

“Don't worry, I've made a deal with the other commander. I'll drive in a minute.” Li Huilin nodded.

“Huh?” McKen's still a misty face. I don't know what to say.
