She glanced around, and Lann Zhen’s appearance was slightly better than Jiangg Yao and Yuling.
Jiangg Yao’s spirit looked sickly and emanated an unpleasant odor. Yuling seemed like a farmer’s wife who had labored her whole life; her skin was coarse and dark, her gaze was dull and fierce. Just looking at her made Baozhu feel disgusted.
Though she had been embroiled in constant struggle all her life, she had been pampered. When her life reached its end and she died, the marks of time on her face were not too many. Standing here, she was particularly conspicuous, like an aristocratic lady among commoners.
Lann Zhen appeared quite old, dressed simply. Except for her tears, she actually seemed much calmer overall, and at least not as detestable.
In Baozhu’s view, Lann Zhen’s changes seemed smaller, faintly revealing traces of her youthful self.
Thinking of this, Baozhu couldn’t help but be taken aback. After all these years, Lann Zhen still showed shadows of her past, which was somewhat unexpected.

Jiangg Yao utterly resented Cui Xinyi, that heartless man, who feigned being an honest scholar, yet inside was unbearably vile. She was simply blind.
She also deeply hated Qiann Yan, who clearly knew the brothel girls faced miserable fates but mercilessly left her there; it was too cruel.
Even if she had a little bit of immortal power, she wouldn’t later have had to depend on men for survival.
More hateful was that Mr. Lee, who promised to treat her well, yet after she merely met Cui Xinyi twice, he constantly snubbed her, showing no regard.
Her life couldn’t be described as anything but bitter.
