Chapter 674: Stay Out of the Fairy’s Business (33)
"Eldest Sister, the Demonic Qi in the Demon Abyss is about to be gone."
The rapid decrease of Demonic Qi in the Demon Abyss surprised Xuan Shuang; she hadn’t expected that Demon Stone to be so powerful, absorbing all the Demonic Qi in just a few decades.
Xuan Shuang whispered, "Those Star Officials have returned to their posts."
She wasn’t sure of the specific reaction. She merely sent a message to the boys in the Immortal Grass Garden to inquire about the situation. These boys couldn’t get too close to them, so all they found out was that they had returned to their posts.
Qiann Yan: "Once the Stone is done absorbing, we’ll return to the Heavenly Realm."
Half a month later, with no Demonic Qi left in the Demon Abyss, Mo Yuhuai emerged from it.
He wore white as pure as snow, free from even a speck of dust, with no trace of Demonic Qi emanating from him. His eyes were clean and bright, appearing more like a celestial being than a demon.
Upon seeing Qiann Yan guarding the exit of the Demon Abyss, a hint of delight flashed in his eyes, as he instantly shifted beside her: "Little Grass, all the Demonic Qi in the Demon Abyss has been absorbed by me."
"Are we returning to the Heavenly Realm?"
Qiann Yan: "We are."
"What do you plan to do?"
Mo Yuhuai asked, as the usual procedure would be to first seek the Heavenly Emperor’s judgment on how to handle this matter.
The scheming of those Star Officials regarding the Immortal Grass Garden can be unearthed with even a minimal investigation, and cannot be concealed.
The Heavenly Emperor, aware of this, would surely symbolically punish those Star Officials — stripping them of immortal power and banishing them to the Mortal World to suffer for countless lifetimes.
Hasn’t it always been handled like this over the years?
"If you consent to Zhang Jinghao’s handling, then we won’t be together." Mo Yuhuai had pondered for many days. In truth, the deep enmity with Zhang Jinghao was his, and Little Grass had no reason to oppose Zhang Jinghao and the Heavenly Realm for the sake of a few Star Officials.
Being hunted by the Three Realms, living in constant hiding, is not a pleasant experience, as he knows very well.
Qiann Yan didn’t answer but asked, "Why did the Heavenly Emperor scheme against you?"
"I was once a Chaotic Spirit Stone, excellent refining material; even now as a Demon Stone, I’m still sought after by everyone." Mo Yuhuai answered without hesitation, puzzled by why this Little Grass asked such strange questions.
Qiann Yan: "We are all Innate Spiritual Objects; if he schemes against you, why can’t he scheme against me? If I’m guessing correctly, he might be facing a bottleneck, urgently needing something to break through with. I, as Innate Spiritual Grass, should suit him perfectly, right? Didn’t you speculate on this before?"
"Your strength is good, not under the jurisdiction of the Three Realms. It’s easy to hide and cultivate; once your power reaches its peak, he wouldn’t dare target you."
Qiann Yan: "I dislike hiding; why should I hide? If he dares to scheme, he must bear the possibility of being struck back by me. Hide? It’s cowardly and stifling."
The gap between her strength and the Heavenly Emperor’s isn’t large; resigning before even fighting is most demoralizing.
"Stone, why are you so cowardly."
Mo Yuhuai was anxious: "I’m not cowardly!"
"You ungrateful Little Grass, I’m merely suggesting you hang on a bit longer. Being pursued by the Three Realms isn’t pleasant, Zhang Jinghao is very wicked with countless allies and adept at scheming. Let me try and fight first; if it doesn’t work, you still have other options."
The sacrifice of becoming a road stone was enormous, and this Little Grass actually called him cowardly.
Unbearable!
Mo Yuhuai was extremely angry, deciding not to speak to her today.
Qiann Yan glanced at his infuriated expression, saying, "Are you not going with me to the Heavenly Realm?"
Mo Yuhuai followed, yet showed no intention of speaking, having said earlier he wouldn’t converse with her today, as a Demon Stone, he would uphold his words.
