Almark – Northern Sword, Southern Wand
Auditorium
Whatever he meant to say, thanks to the words of the torque, Almark regained a little calm.
The next day, when I went to school, Wendy felt sad, as usual, but there was room for me to try to look at it calmly.
Then I saw something I hadn't seen until yesterday.
When Almark spoke to him, Wendy, who was in trouble and had few words, often stared at Wendy standing still when Almark was not paying attention to him.
When Almark and I were about to meet, we turned our gaze away, but when we looked at Wendy's Almark, it looked very sad.
Wendy seems worried about something.
Almark knew that, too.
It looks like you're worried about me, too.
Otherwise you wouldn't look at me with such spicy eyes. [M]
Is it related to the letter that arrived at the dormitory?
Torque was right, was it a letter from the bride of forgiveness?
Or is the torque completely out of line and a letter from someone else?
Torque said it wasn't from his father.
Other than my father, is there a man who writes such a disturbing letter to Wendy?
Maybe he's here.
I know very little about Wendy until I meet her.
What kind of person is that?
Almark imagined that the nobles he had met since coming to the academy, Eston, Polois, and Ain's face, were just blurry and did not have a concrete image.
Or is it that the letter is the cause that is out of the question? Is Wendy's concern completely unrelated to it?
After all, Almark didn't know how to think about it.
However, Wendy's eyes looked very sad while pretending not to look, and that was what Almark was sad about.
There must be some good reason why you can't talk to Almark.
Wendy would have told me if she could.
Almark was so sure.
Trust that has passed through danger together.
It was in Almark without shaking even now.
That's why Wendy thinks that not telling me right now is something she shouldn't tell me.
Then we have to wait.
Almark got angry.
Wendy told me.
Until then, I hope you have my heart. [M]
I also think about such a weak thing.
Wendy, will you follow me?
I was thinking of saying the words that were advised by the torque, but when I saw Wendy's sad eyes, I didn't know what to do to take her out to the forest or the sea right now.
Wendy and I will not be alone on the way back to the school building.
The time passed without even saying it.
Still, most classmates never noticed the invisible walls between Almark and Wendy, as the very superficial conversation was plump.
"Lilty's voice is too low."
Wallis twisted his neck.
"Dialogue does not reach the audience seat at all. Especially if it sounds like a performance."
The magic festival day was approaching.
Today is my first practice in a live auditorium.
That way, you can see that there are various problems that you could not see when you were practicing in the classroom.
There is little movement to do on the big stage, or the position of the actor is too skewed to the edge of the stage.
Among them, the small voice of Lilty once again emerged.
The little voice can finally be heard by the fellow players acting together, but it's not very close to the audience seat.
"Lilty"
Wallis waved from the center of the guest seat.
"I can't hear you at all. [M] Could you keep your voice up a little bit?"
Lilty nodded with a bright red face and shouted a little louder.
"Not yet."
Wallis shook his head.
"I only know what you're talking about."
Lilty shouted desperately and managed to reach the audience seat.
I can hear you now.
Wallis tells the next buyer.
"You don't look like a princess when you shout so desperately."
That's right.
The buyer put his arms together.
"When you sing, you make so much noise."
Ah.
Wallis agrees.
"That's a great song. That would be a gift from heaven."
Then, look at Lilty's performance and look down.
"Oh, let's stop it. The way you make that voice sounds like you're gonna hurt your throat before you sing."
Wallis waved loudly.
"Lilty, my throat hurts. Just keep your voice as loud as it used to be."
Lilty nodded and coughed small.
"Well, what's going on?"
Wallis put his arms together.
"Is this going to cut Lilty's dialogues to the extreme?"
"No, Wallis."
A contemplative buyer took his arm off.
"Let Lilty keep his voice down."
"But"
Wallis frowned.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Let's cover it with a show."
Buyers smile.
"Bring Lilty's voice to the audience seat with the magic of the wind. That way you can hear that whispering voice properly."
I see.
Wallis nods.
"And that little voice."
Wallis takes over the buyer's words with a smile.
"I don't think you have such a wonderful voice. In the last scene, that gap will live."
"Exactly. That's a quick guess, Wallis."
Wallis shakes his head as the buyer nods.
"No, you're holding back. I'm counting on you."
Say that and get the script.
"Alright, let's review Lilty's performance. I'll be in charge of carrying her dialogues on my own. Her last song is worth it."
From the beginning, I try to play the entire play on the stage.
Everyone was practicing enthusiastically a long time ago, and regardless of the production and placement problems, the progress of the play itself proceeds smoothly.
The interaction between Nelson and Norrish also seemed to be natural, with each other losing power.
The story progressed, and Almark finished playing Nelson without hesitation, making it a farewell scene for Wendy.
Nelson and the others leave, leaving Almark and Wendy on the stage.
Almark saw Wendy.
Wendy also looked into Almark's eyes.
It's been a long time since I've stared at each other like this.
Almark felt something coming up inside him.
But I can't put it into words.
Wendy doesn't say anything.
Aren't you going to say it or can't you?
I don't know, but Almark knew Wendy's eyes were moist.
Time passes while remaining silent.
I have to say something.
Almark opens his mouth, but he can't find the words to say.
Oh, shit.
At that time, Wendy began to slowly fade.
Of course, this was a play in which Galaine, the person in charge, magically gradually made Wendy's appearance transparent, but Almark felt that Wendy would really disappear for a moment.
Almark, who was supposed to have been fatally wounded, rushed to Wendy.
It's an impossible move to play and Wendy opens her eyes to surprise.
I saw tears accumulating in the eyes.
"Wendy"
When she finally squeezed out that much, Wendy closed her eyes.
Two, tears spread across his cheeks.
I'm sorry, Almark.
Just before she disappeared, Wendy said so.
What do you mean, I'm sorry?
After Wendy disappeared, Almark was stunned and heard Wallis shouting from the audience seat.
"Cursed Swordsman Almark. I want to move on to the next scene, so I think it's time for you to die."
