Almighty Game Designer

Chapter 734: Extension of the Lost Treasure Offer (more)

On July 23, the Lost Treasure game version did not jump as many players had guessed, but promptly opened a trial.

GA has several experience stores in Europe and the US, and some older players are pre-qualified to pre-order and play in the game cabin, so domestic players can't participate.

This is also normal, the game is borderless, but the designer has a nationality, Chen Jiao made a new game, didn't he also take care of domestic players first?

Although domestic players can't play, it doesn't mean they don't pay attention. Many international students and Chinese expatriates from Europe and America are very active in going to GA's experience store to try it out, bringing first-hand information about the Lost Treasure game to domestic players.

At the same time, a number of trial videos about Lost Treasures appeared on video websites abroad and were moved to the country by some enthusiastic players.

The original trial date was July 23, while the official launch date was August 1.

But three days after the trial, GA suddenly announced that the launch of Lost Treasure would be postponed until September.

The players were not surprised by this jump, but rather thought it was sensible. The reason is simple, from the trial version, the game is simply not competitive compared to Mysterious Seas!

Not only did the players not feel sorry for themselves, they also had some misfortunes.

“Hahahaha I laughed so hard, GA made a game with normal progress, I still had to postpone the modification, it hurts! ”

“Yeah, Lost Treasure is already a quality game if you look at it by previous GA standards, there's no such thing as a bug, and the scene is nice, but who let it crash into Mysterious Sea? ”

“Hey, if Lost Treasure goes live in the morning and even goes live with the movie period, then the game could be a big sale, but now the Mysterious Seas Pearl Jade is in front, and the wrongdoer will spend $2,000 on Lost Treasure? ”

The quality of the Lost Treasure game edition came to a conclusion soon after many players tried it out.

The quality is good, it reproduces the content in the movie quite well, and adds a lot of extensions in the original book. Simply based on the standard of the movie adaptation game, it is very successful.

But compared to Mysterious Seas, the problems came to light all at once.

First of all, the plot.

The Lost Treasure game is based on the original book and the movie plot, with a slight expansion. It does attract Lost Treasure iron powder, but the problem is that the vast majority of people have seen the movie and the plot has lost suspense.

The reversal, the key scenario and the end result, the players had already experienced while watching the movie, losing a lot of divine twists and turns into a little bland.

At the same time, the dramatic rhythm of "Lost Treasure" compares with that of "Mysterious Seas", with a relatively obvious rhythm imbalance.

The Lost Treasure movie edition lasts just over two hours and has so much content, while the entire length of play of the game may have to be increased several times.

Of course, you can add all sorts of puzzle levels and complex climbs to the game, but how to do that, the short duration of the plot is still a hard wound. So the designer can only lengthen the plot, or add a few legs, but it loses the compactness of the movie.

And in terms of gameplay, the place where players throw up most is, how come there's so much loading???

In fact, The Lost Treasure is unjust at this point. It's not the only one who did the loading strip. Many other games have also done it!

Isn't it common practice to make a nice loading interface when switching scenes and then write a few more tips and tips?

Besides, Lost Treasure has been specifically optimized for performance, with just 5-8 seconds to complete each read, which in the view of the designer is already a very, very short time.

But players don't think so, after playing Black Tech without loading all the way through Mysterious Seas, this 5-8 second reading time is really too long!

Moreover, even if this time is shortened, reading notes is not really a matter of length, but mainly disrupts the player's gameplay experience and interrupts the player's emotions.

The last second the protagonist had just fallen unconscious, the player was still immersed in sentiment and grief, and the next second, a huge loading strip appeared in front of him, and all of a sudden he acted...

Also, the picture is not as good as Mysterious Seas.

Although the game is a comprehensive piece of art, it is clear that in adventure games, the picture is the most important link that directly determines how the game sells.

In fact, the Lost Treasure scene is pretty good in VR games, but the key is to see who it compares to, compared to Mysterious Seas, even if it's just a little too close, the players will feel it very acutely.

And most importantly, there are fewer exciting scenes and less daring ways to play.

This is not just a question of the Lost Treasure game, it's also true of movies.

In the Lost Treasure movie, the stimulus scene is not much, but mainly treasure hunting and riddle solving, only common sense joined some racing and gun theater.

And while the Lost Treasure game edition has been enhanced in these respects, it's still a bit daunting.

But the Mysterious Seas is different, with lots of racing, gunfights, building collapses, fights, etc.

Especially [Chapter 11 · Close to sight], Nathan first came to a bustling town and experienced the South American style; then entered the bell tower, solved mysteries, climbed gears, beat the body bell, demolished, solved the mystery again to get clues; and firearms battles with mercenaries, racing, jumping, fighting, gunfights...

In the wake of this tense and exciting racetrack, the Mid-Mind Seas drama also reached a small peak.

In Lost Treasure, however, this type of plot appears to be very weak, with many players saying that although it is a VR adventure game, it always feels a little sleepy to play, especially if you want to leave the archive as soon as you load it.

Players in Europe and America obviously feel the same way. After playing Mysterious Seas, try "Lost Treasures" again. This lag is so obvious that during the trial, "Lost Treasures" can be said to be bad reviews.

It's not the kind of bad rating that does nothing, but when a lot of small details accumulate, the players' opinions are huge. This trial play can be said to have not worked at all, but rather influenced the reputation of the Lost Treasure game version.

A lot of players rated Lost Treasure after playing: “To be honest, it's okay, but I chose Mysterious Seas. ”

And that's why GA can only relentlessly announce a postponement of the game, hoping to make the game better in a month's time.

Based on current player feedback, there is a good chance of losing money if it is released on schedule.

But can a postponement not be a loss? Many players are skeptical about this.
