Chapter 1420 - 370: Requiem XX
The nearly three-meter-long claws were all composed of a grey horny layer, with honeycomb-like holes clearly visible. Brand knew that those fine cavities were filled with demonized worms that would infect wounds whenever King of Chaos, Messika attacked.
He remembered when the TRS guild took down this Hell Demon King, they specifically had Heresy Judges and Witch Doctors to purify the parasites, but he didn’t have such luxurious conditions now. The Demon Lord’s sword-like claws struck his head, and Brand quickly reacted by leaping backward, narrowly avoiding three blades grazing past him like plows.
The grass was torn apart, leaving three deep claw marks. Chaotic Power swept closely behind, igniting a layer of dim grey flame upon the claw marks.
Only then did Brand stabilize himself with a backflip. His blood accelerated through his veins, fully waking him, and narrowly avoiding that claw made cold sweat bead densely on his forehead.
Thankfully, the Elf Sister warned him at the last moment, otherwise, the consequences would be unimaginable. Unlike ordinary upper demons who possess the law power of fire elements, true Lord-level demons are not recognized by the power of the law; instead, they wield the chaotic power and the violent dark magic of the Sea of Magic.
These two powers lack creative strength in the hands of demons but are far more than sufficient for destruction. They even surpass most elements of the same level, as Chaotic Power can assimilate everything, and the burning flame stands as evidence.
That grey flame actually has nothing to do with the Fire Element of the Vorn World but is known as Ember’s Existence. Everything incinerated by it returns to chaos, and legend has it that when the Land of Order transforms into a wilderness, such flames will fill the world.
Brand had just steadied himself when the Wind Queen’s voice came: "Brand, when this demon attacks, its right hind foot exerts force slightly slower than the other three, it seems there’s some hidden ailment there. Can you seize this opportunity?"
Brand nodded, in popular folklore, King of Chaos, Messika is often depicted as a three-headed, winged, bloated giant, with an oil-dripping belly hanging in layers to the ground. Although it looks quite peculiar, it essentially maintains a humanoid figure with two feet and two claws. The place Wind Queen pointed out was actually on Messika’s right ankle.
That spot was wounded by the Demon Snake of Lord of Pain during Messika’s campaign in the Torture Purgatory, leaving an enduring dark ailment. Back then, TRS guild prepared well for this First Down and naturally wouldn’t overlook this obvious weak point.
Indeed, Messika has a blind spot when turning to the right.
Unfortunately, this information wasn’t much meaningful to him, for near peak strength of the Extreme Realm isn’t something a minor weak point can remedy. Still, seeking solace, Brand instinctively edged slightly to the right.
Messika swiped its claw into empty air, instantly enraged at failing to instantly kill such an elemental manifested pest. It roared furiously, its left claw swept horizontally once more toward Brand.
The air rang with an explosion-like screech.
But just then, Char’s spell finally arrived, "I make it impossible to pass through, the law of walls!" The young wizard finished chanting his spell and pointed his magic wand forward, instantly creating a wall composed of large and small transparent force-field squares between Brand and Messika.
With a crack, Messika’s claw struck the wall, and spiderweb-like cracks appeared on the transparent wall, and in an instant, it shattered, with the force-field squares breaking like glass.
If Brand were really a player from the gaming era of the first act, he’d probably be scared to death on the spot. The Law Mage’s position wall was then known as an invincible spell, the only drawback was the inability for both sides to pass through, thus it was purely a protective spell.
But the force-field wall was actually shattered with brute force—which sounds more like something from several versions later.
This was only 376, Brand felt his scalp tingling, but Char’s spell had ultimately bought him some time; he hurriedly pushed aside all distractions and seized the slim chance, desperately rolling aside to barely dodge the King of Chaos’s monstrous assault.
"Detestable vermin!"
