Chapter 1475 - 13: Siblings II_2
Yesterday, the Princess took him to meet Wood, the acting Great Priest, but unexpectedly the latter was coincidentally out of town to appease the people of the diocese. It wasn’t until the next morning that the invitation from the Lord of Priest was delivered to them by a servant.
This time, Brand took Antitina along; however, the Merchant Lady clamored to join the trip too, for certain reasons—the last battle showcased her eye-catching performance, along with a series of discussions about the Titan’s remains and her vital identity as the actual manipulator of affairs. Hence, it wasn’t an extraordinary decision for Brand to bring her along. Most importantly, Brand realized he couldn’t possibly win against the Merchant Lady’s tricks.
Meanwhile, Princess Griffithine brought her younger brother. The carriages of the four quickly met at the central square, and at the invitation of the Princess, Brand and the Staff Lady switched carriages. All three squeezed into the Princess’s carriage, adorned with lilies and new moon emblems, where Brand immediately noticed Prince Haruz sitting beside the Princess.
Throughout history, Prince Haruz quietly sat beside his sister, just as Brand had remembered from a few years later. He was still a quiet and gentle young man or rather a child. His hands rested uneasily on his knees, head lowered, with his soft hair almost touching the collar flower on his chest. If it weren’t for the white shirt embellished with Royal Family emblems and the Lion Pattern Sword, you could hardly believe at first glance that this would be Erune’s future King.
Seeing her brother like this, Princess Griffithine couldn’t help but sigh. She envisioned that Brand would undoubtedly hold an important position in this Kingdom; therefore, she hoped Brand could build a good rapport with her brother. In fact, she wished Brand could become Haruz’s mentor—this wasn’t a fanciful notion as Brand had the competence and eligibility to take on this role. If there was any need for humility, then apart from an old monster like Turaman from the Restoration Age, probably no one in All Erune would dare claim the qualification to teach this Prince.
But the Princess also understood that given her brother’s demeanor, it might be hard to catch the eye of this ’Knight.’ After all, the relationship between teacher and student should be mutually beneficial. From her perspective, Brand didn’t need a Royal Family pupil to validate his status, nor would he likely be keen to teach an unworthy student, lest he tarnish his reputation.
Of course, some might covet this position to curry favor with the Royal Family; Princess Griffithine was familiar with such situations. Back in the day, Ou Fuwei’er taught her swordsmanship partly for these reasons, as the world knew of Oberg the Seventh’s affection for his daughter.
But not everyone is like Sir Wolf, nor are they Brand. Reflecting on this, Princess Griffithine could only sigh quietly.

What she didn’t expect was that when she was feeling somewhat hopeless, Brand, seated quietly beside the Staff Lady, showed great interest in the Little Prince. Sitting in the carriage with the Princess yet silent, the Merchant Lady was curiously searching for snacks in the carriage drawer—she was evidently not new to riding the Princess’s carriage. In short, no one spoke in the carriage, and during this brief silence, Brand carefully scrutinized across at Erune’s future King, His Majesty.
Truth be told.
This was his first time seeing the Little Prince in this life, and even adding the previous lifetime, he had only encountered this Prince on a handful of occasions. Although during the last phase of Erune’s revival era, he had interacted with the Kingdom’s upper echelons, he never became familiar with the Prince.
Of course.
In name, Haruz should have been Erune’s King at that time.
But due to well-known reasons like Duke Anliek’s obstruction, this future King might never have had a day of autonomous life. Moreover, he inherently lacked the ability, as Brand remembered Prince Haruz was inward and timid, traits deadly to both Royal Family and nobles.
