Chapter 1303 - 333: Holy White Battle XVII_3
"The one who convinced me of this was Mr. Brand." Count Oting laughed, "Someone can bring light in the darkness, I have witnessed it with my own eyes."
Princess Griffine remembered his experiences, nodding slightly in relief, but couldn’t help casting a curious glance at Brand.
Yet, what everyone didn’t know was that further away, in the forest atop Angerk Mountain, an old voice was softly reciting the same words:
"The Dark Monarch herds wolves and walks; before doomsday, disaster follows. In his eyes, the world has no secrets."
"The prophecy is being fulfilled one by one."
"My king, you have indeed returned once more..."
Brand’s long howl resonated through the mountains, even causing the black wolves beside him to pause. The next moment, everyone felt the ground tremble slightly, not a shake caused by heavy cavalry charging, but a true shudder coursing through the entire valley.
Large swathes of soldiers lost their balance and fell to the ground, while the heavy cavalry of the Field Formation fared even worse; as they started to accelerate, line after line fell forward, numerous knights breaking their necks before even reaching the battlefield.
By then, no one cared about what was happening on the battlefield.
Because a terrifying rumble was emanating from underground, forcing everyone to glance downward. The ground was quaking subtly, seemingly nurturing some dreadful energy beneath, the distant roar like a giant beast bellowing.
And it was approaching.
The massive sound source rapidly neared the surface, then everyone lifted their heads. Suddenly, amidst the already gloomy sky, a flash exploded, like lightning illuminating the battlefield in blinding white. But the lightning wasn’t descending from the rolling clouds but from underground.
From Machinko Mountain’s direction, the mountaintop seemed to open wide, from which burst forth dazzling white light.
"Viscount Finn is finished..." Count Vitokin observed this scene, having only one thought in his mind. Suddenly realizing something, he turned back in horror, mouth agape, shouting at his subordinates.
Yet, within the brilliant white light, the massive sound seemed to drown everything. Following a sharp, overwhelming noise, silence enveloped everything. Everyone saw those around them screaming in terror, but could only see their mouths moving, not hearing any sound.
The high-pitched sound waves engulfed all noise, yet peculiarly rendered the world silent, leaving people unable to hear a single sound.
Then a terrifying, explosive sound swept through, as if a howling storm. Instinctively, everyone leaned back, the horrifying shockwave surged like a bright ring through the battlefield sky, lifting the light infantry, heavy infantry, and knights on earth dragons, flinging them backward several meters before they collapsed back onto the meadow.
In that instant, the whole valley shuddered, as if the northern branch of the Anlek Mountain Range was about to collapse into ruins.
The white light instantly severed the connection between Machinko Mountain and Vileco Mountain.
For a long time.
When Vitokin finally managed to stand up from the ground and gather his wits, he gazed at the battlefield ahead, unable to prevent his mind from going blank. The heavy cavalry of the Field Formation had entirely vanished, half of the heavy infantry missing, and nearly a third of the Stevenson Column gone.
Machinko Mountain had nearly vanished, Vileco Mountain almost cut in half.
Between the two mountaintops, only a deep rift remained, an abyss shrouded in white mist. But Count Vitokin hadn’t managed to extract any command suitable for the current situation from his befuddled mind when the swirling white mist seemingly came alive, rising continually, assembling into a massive, rotating tornado.
All those still alive couldn’t help but lift their heads, staring at the increasingly enormous storm towering tens of meters above the ground—it evidently wasn’t merely wind, as everyone felt a tremendous pressure descending upon the battlefield.
And a dignified voice concurrently reverberated across the battlefield.
"Pitiful mortals, thank you for unsealing me," a thunderous voice boomed echoing through the storm—above it, dark clouds converged, rain seemed to intensify suddenly on the battlefield, while lightning streaked through the clouds, converging upon the whirlwind, "but I despise having the serene elegance of wind disturbed."
Amidst the pouring rain.
Everyone beside Brand was shocked by the sudden developments, but only he gazed up at the all-too-familiar scene, feeling oddly wondrous.
The entrance lines hadn’t changed at all.
So, this guy’s temperament should not have shifted much, haha.
At the other end of the battlefield, Curiosity Seeker Gallock’s expression suddenly transformed. The Great Wizard, in the midst of casting, abruptly turned back, anxiously shouting at Count Vitokin, "Quickly prepare your troops for battle, hurry, else it’ll be too late!"
In fact, it was already too late.
The storm abruptly emitted a sound of deep dissatisfaction, "What is this..." A silver law thread struck from the clouds into the air, then exploded into a bright electric arc, "Spell deconstruction?"
"You dare use deconstruction spells to attack me?"
"You are seeking your own dead end, insects."
Gallock lifted his head, face pale, witnessing countless lightning vortices suddenly appear above, with innumerable bolts stretching out from within the vortex.
In that moment.
The battlefield witnessed a dazzling display of lightning storms interweaving.
