Chapter 1413 - 367: Requiem XVII_2

Destroying two teleportation gates and destroying one teleportation gate felt vastly different. If only one teleportation gate remained, people might still have the confidence to fight, but with two, only despair remained.

Gallock recited each spell powerfully and sonorously as the knights surrounded him. In the distance, scattered little demons were being driven back by the barbarian demons flying from afar; each of the three teleportation gates was actually stationed with a large number of demons. Especially near Ampezel Port, many barbarian demons were flapping their wings to ascend, and Brand knew there must be many high-level demons commanding them.

The first teleportation gate was destroyed; the demons seemed to be dumbstruck before they reacted. They probably didn’t anticipate that dozens of humans could defeat their kind, not to mention that even the knights of Lantoniyan hadn’t considered it.

But the demons also reacted swiftly.

Countless Hellhounds and barbarian demons swept in from the south; each of the three teleportation gates was spaced roughly two thousand meters apart. Between them lay flat grassland where everyone could clearly see the scene of their attack.

This was far superior to the previous rabble of little demons. The key was that neither Hellhounds nor barbarian demons could be outmatched in individual strength by the knights or witches of Lantoniyan, not to mention their numbers being thousands of times greater.

It was simply a scene of impending doom.

"We’ll be teleporting to about twenty or thirty meters to the left of the teleportation gate, but no closer; I’m afraid of causing an abnormal reaction from the teleportation gate!" Gallock suddenly shouted, a circle of white light spreading from his magic wand.

Brand immediately felt the spatial disturbance.

This was the feeling before the descent of the Supreme Law, an oppressive sensation he had experienced many times before. It was fundamentally different from ordinary teleportation gates and his Flash Sword’s effects; it felt like Martha herself was present, opening a door for them with her own hands.

"The teleportation power will crush the demons at that location. But don’t expect too much—they’re not fools!" Gallock continued to remind, "Be aware of enemies suddenly appearing around you."

The knights were experiencing such a scene for the first time, and couldn’t help but feel a chill. But before they could react, the surroundings began to distort, and in the next moment, as if the distance had suddenly closed in, the massive, golden-red teleportation gate appeared right before them.

The immense visual impact froze everyone.

But they soon paid for this moment of hesitation; almost all high-level long-horned demons and evil mages were gathered near the teleportation gate. They had long noticed the spatial disturbances on the battlefield’s other side, but with thousands of meters of distance, the evil mages couldn’t use Dimension Anchors to lock the battlefield; however, as soon as the knights of Lantoniyan appeared, the prepared demons immediately launched an attack.

Compared to humans, these demons were more familiar with space magic; only one long-horned demon faced the vibrating space law and was instantly pulverized. But the remaining long-horned demons successfully passed through the array and seized a knight, dragging them out directly.

In an instant, three knights and one witch were dragged out and killed. If Nicholas and the old knight Reid of the White Lion Legion hadn’t reacted swiftly, the casualties would have been even greater.

Only then did the knights react with shock and anger—not that they could be blamed, since Brand couldn’t let them practice beforehand. The knights who regained their senses immediately realized they were surrounded, with various demons closing in from all directions, most of them Hellhounds and long-horned demons, along with some existences even Brand couldn’t name.

But only the long-horned demons and evil mages posed a real threat.

Fortunately, this time the situation was slightly different from before. At least Brand wasn’t fighting alone; with the Flame-haired Great Sword Master, the old knight Reid of the White Lion Legion, and a Templar from the Flame Temple dealing with the long-horned demons, Brand directly focused his attacks on the evil mages.

Although he was still somewhat weak and powerless right now, he was the only one in the field who could spare a hand and had the ability to handle the demon wizards, so Brand had no choice. Moreover, he didn’t consider the evil mages to be much of a threat; he directly entrusted Antitina’s protection to the Princess, then charged towards the rear of the demon army.
