Owen suddenly turned back, his eyes bloodshot as he glared at his companion: "Are you crazy!" he shouted through gritted teeth, "We absolutely cannot retreat, our teammates are still ahead!"

Charlotte smiled slightly.

"Then remember to buy that book for me, the one with the golden-edged cover, the collector’s edition from the Lunar Year, you know it."

"What are you talking about?"

"Go pick up the flag, Owen."

A few minutes later, the South Gate of Bunoan Guard City swung open.

The remaining soldiers of the White Lion Legion inside the city began to retreat. The Commander of the Demons—the Long-Horned Demon immediately noticed this, and it certainly couldn’t tolerate these humans, who had caused it immense trouble, to walk away.

It let out a long horn, and the Demon Army rushed towards the South Gate, personally leading the charge, intent on crushing those pests.

But as it rushed down from the city wall, through several alleys, it arrived beneath the only square within the city. There, it saw the humans in full battle array—not just the guards of the White Lion Legion but also ragged men and even children.

The Long-Horned Demon suddenly realized something was wrong.

Sherlock stood amongst the crowd, contemptuously raising the longsword in his hand:

"I know you are listening—fire at me, Victory!"

...

"Fire at me, Victory!"

The voice from the Magic Crystal sounded somewhat distorted, yet it still unreservedly conveyed the firmness within it. The Mage who transmitted the order paused slightly before turning to look at the Earl behind him.

Wearing a long coat, his face somewhat pale and exhaustion written all over his expression, Count Yanilasu had his eyes closed. He rubbed his forehead, as if making a great decision before responding:

"The Commander’s there with the demons, fire at him."

"But my Lord."

"I will take full responsibility." The Earl replied calmly.

If someone dared to give up his life, then what would he not dare give up his honor for?

The ground trembled as a blinding golden light spread through Bunoan Guard City, like a sea of fire. Owen watched this scene helplessly, watching Lower Demons lose guidance and scatter in the flames, watching his colleagues turn to ashes in the explosion, with tears streaming down his face.

He straightened Marquis Balta’s corpse, then lifted the already battered flag of Erune high into the air.

That action seemed sacred beyond compare.

...

Two flags reappeared on the battlefield.

They were the sliver of hope exchanged for with the blood of countless people, radiating a brilliant belief that made everyone’s blood boil with excitement. Even on the Victory, Erune navy officers could not help but close their eyes.

Wood, the Chief Priest, watched this scene silently.

Yura, though unable to see, heard the cheers like a mountain roar and a tsunami reached her ears. She was not an Eruein, but a smile still appeared on her face.

’Go, Erune.’

But on the frontline battlefield of Medao Village, Caglis, who was attacking, suddenly halted his steps.

What was happening?

He and all the young people from Tonyger felt a strange sensation, not just them, the entire White Lion Legion’s soldiers also felt this tremor from the soul.

In front of them stood the unstoppable Minotaurs. The White Lion Legion was continually retreating, losing most of the previous gains under the dual onslaught of Medusa and Cave Lizardman Shooters.

It seemed everything was about to turn into nothing.

But a flag came into their view, a flag that seemed not woven from fabric, but forged from gold. The flag unfurled in the pouring rain, and the White Lion on it came alive.

That was Freya.

The Female Knight held the flag in one hand and the Holy Sword of Lionheart in the other, rushing past everyone to face those terrifying monsters from Jogen Digan.

At that moment Qian was by her side, the White Lion Legion was behind her.

On his left were the mountain people, on his right was the White Lion.

As he moved forward, he was unstoppable.

At that moment history seemed to rewrite itself.

The scene from seven centuries ago was re-enacted seven centuries later.

Only their enemies had changed from Cruz people to Demons. The subtle coincidence of history seemed to make the air tremble slightly, and everyone felt this tremor from destiny.

Freya raised the longsword.

"White Lion Legion, heed my order, advance in attack."

"Even if we die, we must die on the path of attack."
