Chapter 1346 - 345: Beneath the Abyss IV_3
The two were suddenly frozen.
At least a D rank, that’s the only thought in Brand’s mind at that moment.
"Turn around." Nemesia said coldly.
Brand quickly rubbed his nose and turned around, feeling a bit dry-mouthed.
"Let go of your hand."
"Give me your cloak." Nemesia said calmly. She did not turn around, because there were quite a few others over there, although the noble private soldiers under Count Oting and the officer cadets from the Royal Knight Academy hadn’t yet noticed the change over here.
Brand complied, pulling off his cloak and handing it over with his eyes closed. Nemesia calmly wrapped herself with the cloak and then looked at Brand, asking: "Mr. Brand, are you really Lord Darius’ offspring?"
"Well..." Brand was puzzled why this knight lady suddenly asked about this. But it was better that she didn’t pursue further, "I’m not very sure, but I don’t think Char would lie to me."
"Did your grandfather teach you swordsmanship?"
"No, of course not. That was learned from other players," but Brand certainly wouldn’t answer that way, or it would really be unclear. He thought for a moment and nodded.
Nemesia glanced at him, nodded, then picked up her sword from the ground and turned around to leave.
Leaving Brand standing alone in the rain, completely relieved.
"Mr. Brand, you’re quite lecherous," Otarais said with curiosity from the side, "By the way, did you do the same thing to Lord Wind Queen, is that why she’s so angry with you?"
Brand then remembered there was a nosy person beside him, but the question was insightful. If he dared to do such a thing to the Elf Sister, he would have already been dead and buried. So he glared at her fiercely: "Kids should stay aside."
"I’m over a thousand years old," the Elf Girl immediately became proud, "In comparison, Mr. Brand is the child."
Damn, you remember this now, huh. Brand immediately felt this person was somewhat unbeatable, so he lazily ignored her and went to inspect William’s corpse.
He thought he couldn’t be more of a Black Hand than Nemesia, yet he still found two pieces of equipment that hadn’t yet dissolved their magic power. One was a cloak, the Flame Patterned Cloak, +15 bloodline, +3 defense. He dared to bet William wouldn’t know this cloak also had a bonus to bloodline; the opponent definitely valued its defensive capability.
Actually, this point is common in the Vorn World, because NPCs ’can’t see’ the attributes on equipment, so they tend to judge based on the surface abilities of magic equipment. Only a few, like the scholar Turaman, can analyze the full function of a piece of equipment.
This process is called identification in the game. However, the average equipment for players doesn’t need identification, except for a few special items. That might also be considered as a benefit for players.
The other piece of equipment is also a wizard’s item, a staff with +32 constitution, capable of summoning two Stone Statue Ghosts, amplifying mana, it’s a Golden Rank staff. This staff is restricted to the wizard profession of Golden Domain Law, but unfortunately, only Char under Brand can equip it, yet Char is a card creature and can’t equip items from the real world.
Brand didn’t know why William would carry this item, he could only guess it might be spoils of war.
Sorting out two wizard items was not surprising to Brand. In the game, he often couldn’t find what he wanted and was known as a friend of wizards, and Senior Sister often jokingly claims to outsiders:
’Sophie is her best friend’
But such praise should be spared.
Recalling the tragic past, Brand felt it was unbearable.
After finally sorting through the spoils, there were eleven Blazing Flame Longswords, the Wind Queen’s Ring (Otarais version), Flowing Firefly, Flame Patterned Cloak plus a Golden staff, and one item that was both within and beyond Brand’s expectations:
He recognized it as a fragment of the Flame Blade Odefis.
It should be the middle part of the broken sword blade, the fragment was bright like a mirror, but there were dark red flame patterns on it. When Brand found this fragment on William’s corpse, the sword soul bound to him with the Flame Blade immediately began to vibrate.
Getting a fragment of this Divine Artifact didn’t excite Brand at all; he only felt it was a big trouble. The Cruz people couldn’t possibly leave the Flame Blade in Erune, if this matter isn’t handled well, it could result in a never-ending conflict.
Just as he furrowed his brow, he saw Frey running over from the rain not far away.
"Brand!"
"What’s up?" Brand put away the fragment of the Flame Blade and looked up to ask. He saw Frey’s face looking a bit anxious, which made him a little curious. Erune Royal Fleet shouldn’t finish off the Cruz people so soon at this time, could there be new enemies?
Impossible, Brand didn’t think Cruz would dare to reinforce, just like he didn’t think the Northern Alliance could regroup so quickly.
"Someone’s here." Frey ran to his side, panting and said, not knowing how far she had come running from.
"Someone?"
"Yes." The girl from Buqi hurriedly nodded.
"Who?"
"It’s Chief Priest Wood. He wants to see you."
"Huh?" Brand was slightly stunned. He had just thought of trouble, didn’t expect it to come so quickly. But what does Wood want to see him for at this time, because of the Flame Blade? They should know there’s no room for compromise with the Princess’s side.
