Chapter 1318 - 338: Glory II
The desolate Black Tower on the highland, a wandering scholar in the wilderness, and the melodious wind song are the impressions of the world on Karasu. The Black Tower Wizards originated from the heritage of the Silver People. When the first generation of grey-robed wizards began building towers in the north of Danier, Erune had not yet been established.
To this day, there are still famous Black Tower ruins near Silver Horse City. However, the wizards have gradually migrated north, building great libraries and cities in the regions of Nale and Qia’en. The Black Tower Wizards are also closely related to the Highland Knights of Dalinjie, both jointly adhering to an ancient treaty, the terms of which are written on black goatskin documents and are still preserved in the Great Library of Qia’en.
William’s expression turned stormy when he saw these troublemakers appear.
He looked up and saw several gold-ranked grey-robed mages atop the four giant square towers. For these Tower Wizards, the painstakingly built Black Tower was a complete array. On their respective towers, their spells could receive the maximum enhancement, rivaling elemental powers without losing out.
"Tower Wizards, do you dare to violate the Taftaka Accord—!"
But the Grey Wizards ignored him. As the Black Tower appeared, the sound of spell chanting rose high amidst the rain: "King of the Blue Calamity, grant me the authority of the elements, Deep Ice Spear—"
A slanted white light array appeared on each tower top, where secret runes and spell characters spun and converged at a single point, then each shot out a cyan translucent light beam aimed directly at the Flame Temple’s fleet. Sharp alarm sounds immediately rang out on the three Flame Temple floating battleships as commanders screamed. The Perran and Taylor immediately began carrying out evasive maneuvers defying logic, with the Floating Magic Core emitting an unbearable buzzing sound, and azure arcs of electricity bursting from the hull.
William gritted his teeth and slashed a sword towards that side; the golden-red sword light resembled a fiery whip in the night sky, swinging out to a hundred meters away.
But it was actually an irregular derivation line of the law, progressing in a zigzag, where the scorching gold line instantly severed three blue light beams, while the remaining one still grazed the Taylor Escort Ship’s keel, followed by a crisp cracking sound where a layer of ice one arm thick immediately formed on the mithril hull. The rainwater flowed along the ice and froze into long icicles in an instant.
The immense weight caused the Taylor Escort Ship to sink slightly.
William’s figure instantly vanished from the sky, reappearing in front of the four giant square towers. This was not teleportation—his move was so fast that the naked eye couldn’t catch it.
"Tower Wizards, you better have a good explanation."
"Haha, the Cruz people are indeed arrogant. We’ve long severed ties with the Silver Alliance, so please refer to us as Black Tower Wizards, Your Excellency William."
William coldly stared at the wizards on the towers.
"As for why we’re here, this is Erune’s civil war. We chose to support the Kerkova Royal Family, which seems to have nothing to do with you Cruz people."
Princess Griffine in the woodland below couldn’t help but press her chest lightly, her slender fingers clenching into a fist; but she obviously knew these aloof wizards could not be supporting her without reason. The only connection they had on the scene was the former genius of the Palosh family—Char. And, linked to that, the descendants under Earth Sword Saint Darius’s name.
Her gaze shifted to Brand.
"The Kerkova Royal Family’s association with pagans makes them unfit to inherit the throne in the eyes of the Flame Temple. Tower Wizards, with the Holy War imminent, I suggest you do not get involved in this conflict."
William raised his hand, causing the entire battlefield to pause. The monk soldiers of the Flame Temple and two hundred Pegasus Knights immediately stood silently in mid-air, while the Northern Alliance retreated like a tide, distancing from the knights of Lantoniyan.
The Tower Wizards are a huge problem, and he didn’t really want them entangled in this ever-growing whirlpool.
"Ridiculous—" a shout of anger.
Brand grasped a golden card in his hand but halted his action. He looked up, coldly interrupting William: "The Kerkova Royal Family’s involvement with pagans, is that based solely on your word?"
