The kingdom’s elite warriors—

’Whish—’

The arrow rain was already upon them, all the knights on horseback leaned slightly back, with arrows clinking and clanking off their bodies. In fact, those arrows began to deform even before reaching them—a barely noticeable golden light extended in the direction of the arrows’ advance, and by the time the arrows broke through this aura and hit everyone, they had already lost most of their force.

"It’s magic!"

"It’s the Conflict Aura... there are Holy Temple Knights among the enemy!" The direction of the White Lion Legion erupted in cries.

Camer felt his mind go blank the moment an arrow hit him, but as he shook his head and looked up, he saw amidst the torrent of arrows, the infantry regiment clad in white heavy armor at the front of the formation was breaking away from the main force.

Facing countless flying arrows.

They’re attracting fire...

Camer swallowed dryly, suddenly feeling his throat become a bit dry.

Brand held his longsword aloft, his gaze steadfastly fixed on the northern nobles’ side of the battlefield, waiting for a moment that was now imminent.

He finally raised his sword, as if using every ounce of his strength to roar:

"White Lion Guards, heed my command, crush all your enemies!"

"Born in glory, spread your incorporeal wings to embrace your triumph—"

"No matter the foe, the legion will triumph over all!"

The Earth Sword pointed to the sky, like a banner flying high. The White Lion Guards released a collective roar that shook the heavens and the earth, turning their enemies’ faces pale.

Within mere ten seconds, the longbowmen of the White Lion Legion had unleashed four volleys of feathered arrows. The flying arrows swept every inch of the short distance of less than one hundred meters like a storm; though the White Lion Legion wasn’t adept at remote strikes, that was only relative.

Just meaningless.

Sir Franz watched in shock as the Holy White army stood unyielding, the White Lion Battle Banner advancing through the rain of arrows, forging ahead.

All firepower converged on them, but to no avail; the sharpest arrows couldn’t come within less than a foot of their bodies, a faint cyan light naturally deflecting the feathered arrows.

The archers repeatedly switched among hunting arrows and conical armor-piercing arrowheads, but none had any success.

Conversely, the enemy was gradually accelerating.

Faster than galloping horses.

Sir Franz felt a cold chill through his body; he once saw the Kruz people’s Broken Sword battle group on the highland, and witnessed the Stag Guards of Saint Ausor during the November War, yet this army before him made him feel as if he had returned to that nightmarish era.

One in ten survived.

The blood spilled in that war seemed to have already stained his vision red.

"Send in the Mage Corps!" Sir Franz gritted his teeth as he shouted; sweat was spotting his forehead.

"Lord, the Mage Corps is still behind us!"

Sir Franz led the Kingdom White Lion Legion Jude Battle Group First Swordsmen Group; the purpose of this light infantry group was to flank to the Princess Faction’s rear at the fastest speed, and sever the retreat route.

He led an archer column and a light infantry column, reaching the destination foremost, setting up the formation without even taking time to rest. Originally thinking five hundred men against two hundred was more than enough.

But now he felt nothing but regret, feeling he had underestimated the enemy. Sir Franz closed his eyes: "Quick, have Sir Nicolom come for support, have the Holy Temple come for support!"

"Damn it, how could there be Holy Temple Knights among the enemy?! Those damn Cruz people, they’re utterly treacherous..."

He turned around.

But they must hold the enemy, even to delay; even if it comes at a cost.

"Archers fall back, switch to longswords! White Lion Infantry, advance—"

Behind the archers, the long spears emerged like a forest.

But it was too late; the White Lion Guards had already reached the frontline.

This army, as if walking out from legend, now truly spread their incorporeal wings to embrace their victory; the cyan lines wrapping their armor seemed to come alive, intertwining and spreading to both sides.

In an instant, all the warriors of the White Lion Guards extended a pair of cyan green wings nearly ten meters wide behind them.

Ah!

The infantry of the Kingdom White Lion Legion, who had just raised their long spears, stood dumbfounded watching their enemy suddenly rise from the ground; it wasn’t flight, but more terrifying than flight—they leapt high, spanning nearly twenty meters instantly to the sky above the Kingdom White Lion Legion’s position.
