Chapter 1389 - 358: Requiem VIII
In the lengthy epic chronicles of Vorn, there are undoubtedly several great events destined to shine like brilliant stars in the night sky, but among them, the most radiant is surely the legend within the Poem of the Blue about the Sky Blue Knight wielding a spear to forge the age of mortals.
On the creation epic of the Cruz people, it is written thus—
In Tai Chu, a world was born from a thought.
In the beginning, the world was in chaos, with water and wind, fire and lightning surrounding it. Then life was born in the water, proliferating upon the earth, sheltered by the wind and bestowed with wisdom by the flames.
Martha spoke a name—Nayinta. (1) Light, dark, wind, water, fire, earth—the six great elements surrounded this world, and within the primordial rules, fourteen thousand deities formed, governing all.
Thus it was accomplished.
In the first epoch before the Radiance, (2) the Divine People built kingdoms on earth shrouded in clouds, with towers connecting the realm of mortals and the realm of gods.
But soon, all was destroyed by the flames of war.
This is recorded in the Poem of the Blue above, where players have speculated more than once that this war was the grand conflict amongst the Divine People, the Golden Race, and the Dragon of Dusk.
It was a history of Vorn long lost and untraceable, a conflict between all wise life and the Dragon of Dusk seemingly existing since before the epoch began. After the collapse of the first epoch, the record of the Sky Blue Knight appeared in history for the first time.
Thus the epic writes:
The green knight shouted to the mountains: Mountains, I challenge you—
The mountains responded to him. They laid ice and snow upon his shoulders, made the Frostwind halt his advance, shrouded his vision in mist, and took away his right hand and eye in coldness.
But the green knight, ah, was destined to be the master of that spear.
The hero stood firm atop Chongshan, unwavering; so a year passed, and another year passed.
The mountains whispered: Look, this is the master of that spear—
They bowed down and hailed him as king.
That spear was the one that shattered the sky dome, pierced the heart of the Dragon of Dusk, brought the stars crashing to the ground, and opened the Second Epoch of mortals with the Holy Spear.
Holy Spear, Sky Dome. (3)
Every person present was well acquainted with this record, whether they were human or elf, knight or princess, or even witch, as if from birth they had been told all about this; it was a segment of history known to every inhabitant of this continent, whether the farmer from remote lands or knowledgeable nobles, everyone knew, everyone understood.
That piece of history was so distant from people, as far off as a legend. Yet it was real and convincing, with all the stars in the sky bearing witness.
The legendary Holy Gun Sky, nine feet long, with a spear cone like a shuttle, its whole body resembling jade, hence also called the Sky Blue Spear. After the Sky Blue Knight and the Dragon of Dusk fell together, the Miner people retrieved this weapon from the eastern Great Plain of today’s Cruz and Saint Ausor, inscribing the words ’The spear slashes the sky dome, stars fall upon here—’ as a maxim, to commemorate the hero who saved all of Vorn.
And that spear was exactly the same as the one Brand and his companions were seeing now, no different.
"This... What is this?" The knights couldn’t help but be stunned.
No one wanted to believe that the legendary weapon would appear before their eyes, without any warning, catching them off guard. There was a widely circulated legend that said, when the Dark Dragon died, the Miner people who followed him buried the Sky Blue Spear deep within a glacier forever.
But what was this scene before them?
Brand only felt his mind buzzing; the most famous weapon in Amber Sword was undoubtedly the Amber Sword itself, a weapon said to oppose the destiny of all things and the world, but the Holy Spear Sky Dome belonged to the Sky Blue Knight and had also left behind a formidable reputation in history.
And in fact, speaking of the extent of the legend’s spread, the name of the Sky Blue Spear actually far exceeded that of the Amber Sword. Even in Erune, or so to say, Cruz, only very few knew about the existence of the Amber Sword, these being either nobles with family heritage or scholars with extensive knowledge.
But the crucial point is.
It’s actually here.
Brand knew that in the history of Vorn, there had been numerous forgeries of the Holy Spear Sky Dome, and even several major scams had revolved around this famous spear. The reason was simple: it never appeared in history, from the fall of the Sky Blue Knight to the collapse of Dark Dragon Odin’s dark rule; it seemed to vanish from history entirely, and never appeared again.
