Although curious about why Cave Dwellers would appear in the underground ruins, Brand calmly buried his curiosity. He silently glanced in the direction where the Cave Dwellers had left, inevitably maliciously speculating whether they would be torn apart by the furious Mother Spider, but he stopped there. Then, he calmed the nerves that had been agitated and turned back to signal to the others, letting the team continue forward.

Considering they might encounter enemies again, no one spoke, instead, they softened their footsteps, the rustling sound echoed in the dark underground, leading the surroundings into a sense of peaceful tranquility. But this was merely an appearance, everyone understood the danger lurking beneath this superficial peace. Although the knights were not familiar with the creatures from the dark underground, at least they had heard of their generally unconventional hearing.

No one wanted to stir trouble at this time—

The cracks in the rock wall began to narrow, but gradually segments of artificial tunnels appeared intermittently during the journey. Ancient ruins frequently appeared in this segment, feeling as if these broken walls and ruins were intertwined with the natural rock walls. Fault subsidence caused by earthquakes often resulted in such a scene, but in a world of Magic, powerful Magic Power could also create similar scenarios—Brand carefully observed the surroundings, quietly immersed in the dark scenery—he did not need to speculate about all this because past players had already discussed it.

In fact, there were such players everywhere who were keen on exploring the game’s history and background. They tirelessly excavated the cold rules of the game to find the other side, seeking those details where the planners had a sudden flash of insight.

They indeed achieved many accomplishments, Amber Sword was undoubtedly an excellent game. It possessed countless histories and details, so complex and vast that one could hardly believe it was just a game. These histories strictly adhered to historical rules, suddenly achieving perfect coherence, and players rarely found loopholes, as if it were a real world.

Brand himself had read many such documents, though he wasn’t a so-called narrative enthusiast nor a background aficionado. He simply felt that certain tasks and backgrounds related to the Ancient Era in the game were closely related, and understanding them better would help him achieve his gaming goals better.

He considered himself a middle ground player, and perhaps because of this, he never ranked among the top-tier players, even though he invested far more time than others.

But since he crossed to this world, these experiences and knowledge, whether game-related or background-related, provided him with an incredible advantage. He led his team through the fragmented tunnels for more than ten minutes, then Barbara stopped at a place.

Earlier Brand felt that they walked into a smaller hall, the entire hall was completely constructed of green granite. This character was very distinct in the game, which is why he managed to retrieve such a name from his vague memory—Losom Meditation Hall.

It was deemed vague because in the game this place wouldn’t occupy an obvious position in the instance. Here should have originally been a side hall in the underground ruins, a place provided for its residents for meditation and prayer. In fact, there is a wall-adjacent fountain on one side of the granite hall, a fountain with a god statue, unfortunately, it has collapsed and it’s unclear which god it was.

Brand instinctively looked in that direction, indeed seeing the fountain from his memory, though the fountain had dried up, leaving only tiered trough-like layers. Here in Amber Sword, it was supposed to provide players with a temporary resting spot because in the game, large instances like this are generally expansive Underground Cities. Players might have to stay in the Underground City for several days or even longer, hence the designers must design places for them to log off and rest.

The underground ruins of Ambeser are divided into two parts, the upper layer being the Ancient Temple, and the lower layer being the Mother Spider’s lair. This instance wasn’t considered the largest one Brand had encountered; therefore, it only has two resting spots, one leading deeper north into the Anleke Mountains, and this one.
