"I’m, uh... I’m outside the main entrance of the Sterling Memorial Library?"

Li Wei said into the phone, watching the zombies hurry past.

"Stay there, don’t move. I’ll be right there!"

In less than five minutes, a pink, diamond-encrusted Bentley Continental GT shattered the peace of New Heaven’s first snow, pulling up in front of Li Wei.

The window rolled down. Anya was wearing a pink beanie, and her exquisite, defined features paired with her black, ear-length bob inexplicably made Li Wei think of Snow White from the fairy tales.

She waved at Li Wei, her excitement obvious, and motioned for him to hurry and get in.

"Hang on, a kiss first." Li Wei suddenly kissed Anya.

"Mmph..." After the kiss, Anya gave Li Wei a playful thump. "Let’s get this straight. Not tonight. My legs are still sore."

"What?" Li Wei looked aghast. "Didn’t I give you the whole night to rest?"

"You call that a night of rest? The sun was almost up when I fell asleep!" Growing angrier as she spoke, Anya pinched Li Wei’s arm hard.

Last night, Li Wei had been helping Anya study. After about half an hour, he suddenly noticed the shorts she was wearing.

Maybe it was because of the many massages from Li Wei, or perhaps due to Anya’s recent diligence with yoga and glute workouts at the gym, but her butt looked even rounder. The fabric of her shorts was wedged tightly between her cheeks.

’That must be really uncomfortable,’ Li Wei thought.

Very thoughtfully, he put down his book, crawled across the bed on his knees, and moved behind Anya, who was lying on her stomach typing. Then, he gave the fabric a little tug for her.

Normally, given Anya’s serious commitment to her studies—the type who wouldn’t relax until her homework was done—she would have turned around, given Li Wei a quick kiss, and pushed him away when he got handsy. Or she might have just kicked him.

But last night, Anya had simply kept typing, not saying a word.

Li Wei glanced over at Anya, his hand lightly stroking her calf.

Anya shuddered but remained silent.

Li Wei glanced at Anya again, his palm continuing upward until it slipped inside her shorts and began to gently tease her.

A few minutes later, Anya couldn’t help but cry out, snapping her laptop shut...

Anya didn’t fall asleep until after 6 in the morning.

"Tonight, you can go take care of yourself. Or go find another woman, for all I care. Just do it behind my back so I don’t know about it," Anya said irritably. "Now, buckle your seatbelt. We’re going to see Yale’s most spectacular December tradition."

"As you command, Princess." Li Wei compliantly buckled his seatbelt.

The Bentley Continental GT glided smoothly over streets lightly dusted with snow. Inside, the warm air, mingled with the familiar scent of Anya’s perfume, stood in sharp contrast to the biting wind and first snow of New Heaven outside.

"So, what is this spectacular tradition, exactly?" Li Wei asked, watching the zombie-like students who flashed past the window. "They look like they’re about to turn into actual zombies."

"Ugh," Anya couldn’t help but sigh. "Suka—I’m about to turn into a zombie myself. But I have a question for you."

She glanced away from the road to stare at Li Wei, mystified. "How on earth do you manage to play sports, keep up with your own studies, *and* teach me?"

"It’s simple," Li Wei shrugged. "You just need one hand to grab your studies, one hand to grab your fitness, one hand to grab your homework, one hand to grab your business..."

"Stop, stop, stop," Anya said, exasperated. "Are you the Thousand-armed Guanyin or something? All this grabbing."

’Sometimes, she really thought Li Wei was a monster.’

’His stamina was monstrous, his hardness was monstrous, his endurance was monstrous, and even his brain was monstrous.’

’Outside of class, it seemed she had never once seen Li Wei study or do his homework.’

’But she couldn’t bring herself to suspect him of hiring a ghostwriter.’

’After all, if Li Wei were to hire a ghostwriter for his own assignments, he would surely get one for hers as well.’

’Of course, there was an even more important reason: every time Li Wei tutored her, he genuinely made her wonder if she was a bit of an idiot.’

"This concept is on page 147 of your textbook."

"For this history section, I’ll send you a journal article in a bit. It’s in Chapter 5, Methodology, subsection 3—around 5.3. Page number is 26. You can just copy and paste that whole paragraph."

’It was just that terrifying.’

’Is he even human?’ Anya glanced at Li Wei as she drove.

Sunlight filtered through the window, playing across the sharp lines of his profile. His high-bridged nose, deep-set eyes, and the curve of his jaw—stark and alluring in the shifting shadows—were as perfect as a sculpture from Ancient Greece.

As Anya gazed at him, the resentment that had built up from her sleepless night and the soreness in her thighs seemed to dissipate into the car’s warm air, vanishing without a trace.

She couldn’t help but start to reflect. ’Was my attitude toward him just now a little too harsh?’

’Li Wei was a top athlete, after all. His physical conditioning, stamina, and hormone levels were naturally far beyond those of an ordinary person.’

’As his girlfriend, not only could she not keep up with him physically, but she couldn’t even satisfy his normal needs. And now here she was, getting angry at him. Wasn’t that a little unreasonable?’

Anya bit her lower lip, a pang of guilt rising within her. ’Maybe I really should be more considerate of his feelings. After all, it must be pretty miserable for a top athlete in his prime to be so pent up.’
