"A brilliant move, Coach."

Mahomes muttered, taking out his mouthguard.

In the broadcast booth, Troy Aikman finally found his opening, shaking his head repeatedly at the halftime stats.

"This is insane, Joe. Li Wei’s first half was nothing short of miraculous, but no one has the stamina to keep that up," he declared. "I predict the Kansas City Chiefs will mount a full-scale comeback in the third quarter."

Joe Buck was also at a loss for words, but his logical side told him that after playing such a high-intensity game for so long, anyone’s stamina should be hitting rock bottom.

"But so far, Li Wei hasn’t shown any signs of fatigue," he said. "And Li Wei is just an 18-year-old kid. We can’t compare him to players who are, on average, nearly ten years older."

"Well, we’ll just have to wait and see, Joe," Troy said confidently. "The third quarter is about to start. We’ll be right back after a commercial break..."

「The fifteen-minute halftime flew by in an instant.」

「The third quarter officially began.」

The Kansas City Chiefs received the ball to start the second half.

Mahomes put on his helmet, his steps light as he stepped onto the green field.

After the halftime break and adjustments, he felt like he had regained his peak form as the best player in the game.

He led the offense to the line of scrimmage and instinctively looked up, scanning the Giants’ defensive side of the field.

He was looking for the Giants’ backup safety. He planned to use the time Li Wei was off the field to shred the Giants’ secondary with his proudest passes, paying back the humiliation from the first half a hundredfold.

’I, Patrick Mahomes, have endured this humiliation. Now I have returned, and I will take back everything I have lost!’

However, the moment Mahomes’s gaze passed over the defensive line and settled on the deep secondary, the confident smile on his face instantly froze.

A light breeze blew through MetLife Stadium.

’Fuck!’

Fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage, the figure in the dark blue No. 1 jersey stood there quietly.

His chest rose and fell slightly, but still, he stood there.

HE! WAS! STILL! THERE!

He even gave a little wave to the frozen Mahomes.

"MY GOD!" It was Joe Buck’s turn. He jumped out of his chair, laughing so hard he almost threw his headset off. "He’s not off the field! Li Wei is not off the field! It’s the third quarter, the Kansas City Chiefs’ possession, and Li Wei has put his defensive helmet back on!!"

On the field, the Kansas City Chiefs’ center turned his head, glanced at his Quarterback, and said nothing.

Mahomes glanced at his center and the other players who seemed to be shrinking back slightly, then suddenly shouted:

"Eyes on me!" He clapped his hands sharply, roaring at the whole team. "Who are we?"

"We are the Kansas City Chiefs!" He looked around at the players protecting him. "Execute the plays! Protect the pocket! Run your routes! Even if we lose, we do it with pride for the jerseys on our backs!"

The third and fourth quarters turned into a brutal battle of offense versus defense.

Mahomes used every trick he knew. He felt like he was about to burn out completely; he hadn’t even felt this tired during his last Super Bowl.

All sorts of short passes, screens, and even attempts to run the ball himself like Li Wei—but in the face of Li Wei, it was all futile and useless.

With two minutes left in the fourth quarter, the score gap had widened, and the Kansas City Chiefs were in a truly desperate situation.

"Fourth and long! The Chiefs have no other choice! They have to go for it!"

Joe Buck roared in the broadcast booth, relaying the details of the game in real time to over 20 million viewers.

Mahomes knew this as well. He saw his moment. Just as the Giants’ defensive lineman, Dexter Lawrence, lunged at him, he whipped his right arm forward like a lash!

A long bomb of over 50 yards spiraled toward the Giants’ end zone.

It should have been a miraculous, divine throw, but at the landing spot, a figure in a No. 1 jersey had long been waiting.

Li Wei had another successful interception.

With almost no time left on the clock, all Li Wei had to do was go down and run out the clock to end the game.

But he didn’t!

He glanced at the roaring crowd, as if infected by the atmosphere, and fixed his eyes on the Chiefs’ end zone 100 yards away.

"He’s not going down! He’s going to kill the game like a hero!" Joe Buck’s voice shot up. "He’s going for the pick-six!"

At least half of the 20 million viewers watching on TV leaped up from their sofas, chairs, and beds, as did the Metropolis fans in the stadium.

The desperate Kansas City offensive players came at him like madmen, but by the end of the fourth quarter, their stamina was depleted. One by one, they were easily dodged or knocked over by Li Wei.

As if no one was there, Li Wei crushed the Kansas City Chiefs’ last line of defense. 50 yards, 30 yards, 10 yards...

At the 10-yard red line, with the end zone just ahead, only one person remained in front of Li Wei.

Number 15, Patrick Mahomes.

"Mahomes isn’t getting out of the way!" Troy Aikman screamed. "The best active Quarterback, the highest-paid player in the entire league, the golden arm with a 500 million USD contract, is going to use his own body to block Li Wei’s path!"

"Get out of the way! Patrick! Get out of the way!" Joe Buck, next to Troy, roared instinctively.

No one thought Mahomes could stop Li Wei. At that speed, and based on Li Wei’s track record, there was a high probability Mahomes would have his career ended right there!

Mahomes watched Li Wei charge toward the end zone. At this moment, all his tactics and his price tag were meaningless. His mind had only one instinct left—stop him!

He bit down on his custom mouthguard and, like a linebacker, charged straight at the dark blue figure, refusing to back down.

He closed his eyes, bracing himself for broken bones.

However, the crushing impact he expected never came.

The second before their cataclysmic collision, Li Wei’s body suddenly spun in a gorgeous pirouette, like a ballet on ice.

He didn’t choose to crush Mahomes’s body with brute force and destroy his future. Like a blue hurricane, he brushed past his shoulder and then stepped steadily into the end zone.

Touchdown!

Having lost his balance, Mahomes fell heavily onto the turf, looking dazedly at Li Wei in the end zone.

"He held back," Troy said, his eyes wide. "He could have run right through Patrick, but he chose to go around!"

"Unbelievable body control! What magnificent character!" Joe Buck announced. "The young King has shown the world his mercy, proving with his actions that he is not a tyrant."

With that pick-six touchdown that sealed the game, the final whistle blew.

MetLife Stadium erupted into a boiling ocean of celebration. More than eighty thousand fans descended into absolute madness.

Countless streamers and sprays of beer foam were thrown into the air. The entire steel dome seemed to tremble from the deafening cheers.

In the broadcast booth, Joe Buck was no longer jumping up and down like before.

He seemed to have entered a state of Zen-like calm. After taking a deep breath, he spoke to the camera:

"It’s over, ladies and gentlemen. The game is over. The Giants have absolutely destroyed the Kansas City Chiefs at home, with a final score of 41 to 25!"

The broadcast showed the scoreboard, the red and blue numbers displaying the stark contrast in scores.

Red is more eye-catching, which made the 25-point score seem all the more ironic.

The director, clearly loving the drama, even cut to a shot of Mahomes on the field. The once-high-spirited number one Quarterback in the league, praised for his historic-level vision and ability to read the game, now silently picked himself up from the turf, covered his head with a white towel, and walked dejectedly toward the players’ tunnel.

This scene even moved Joe Buck, who had always been Li Wei’s biggest supporter. He said with emotion:

"I don’t know how to describe the feeling right now, or how to describe the fans here at Metropolitan Stadium..."

His voice was clear and resonant.

"For them, today must feel as unbelievable as the Second Coming of Jesus. They have witnessed the King they champion, the new monarch they worship, mercilessly take the crown from Mahomes’s head and place it upon his own."

"And for all of you, the viewers sitting in front of your televisions,"

Joe Buck’s profound gaze pierced through the camera lens, looking directly at the more than 20 million viewers across North America.

"No matter which team you’re a die-hard fan of, no matter whether you previously detested Li Wei for his arrogance and brutality, in this moment, you should all feel deeply honored."

"Tonight, right now, we have all witnessed a great game worthy of the NFL history books. We are witnessing the birth of a new era of absolute domination. We don’t know how long he will reign, but we have witnessed his meteoric rise, like the sun itself. All we can do is worship him as we would a god."

"As one person takes the stage, another must exit. Patrick Mahomes, the NFL’s current number one, was struck down by the young challenger just as he tried to raise his sword against him. But he did not back down. He contributed to what was also a deeply moving and great game."

...

The final whistle didn’t just echo within Metropolitan Stadium; it swept across the social networks of North America like a hurricane.

If before the game, the internet had been unanimously hoping to see Mahomes teach Li Wei a lesson, or perhaps anticipating a bloody slaughter, now, because of a single spin move from Li Wei, the entire online world experienced an extremely rare, complete reversal.

Twitter, Reddit, TikTok—millions of people were discussing Li Wei’s spin.

First, countless sports bloggers, fitness gurus, athletes, and influencers were trying to recreate or edit clips of this classic moment.

Meanwhile, in the NFL subreddit on Reddit, the hot thread that had thousands of comments before the game—the one that frantically smeared Li Wei as a "brainless murderer" and a "thug who only knows how to hit hard"—was once again bumped to the front page.

But this time, the tone inside had completely collapsed and reversed.
