American Fortune Life
Chapter 10: How to Fast Circle Money
Dinner ended in a delightful atmosphere, because of overexcitement, Carl was drunk on Andy's sofa, and after sending Nielsen away, he saw Carl lying on the sofa in the living room like a dead pig, saying to Nanny Liu Yan: “Aunt Liu, give him the blanket and let him sleep on the sofa. You go get some rest too.
“Yes, sir.” After Liu Yan took a blanket out of the room on the ground floor and gave it to Karl, he turned off the main lights in the living room to rest.
Andy walks into the bathroom, closes the door, takes off his clothes and puts his legs in the tub.
He increasingly likes the feeling of bathing, especially watching his body get stronger and stronger. It should be post-traversal welfare, the great pores of the Westerners disappear, without the chest hair that makes the Orientals look unfamiliar, and the rough skin becomes much finer.
To sell a good price, there was a lot of work to be done. Of course, Nelson and Carl were in touch early on. Nelson didn't ask too much about firing the previous accountant, just told Andy that he would soon find a new financial advisor with a lot of experience to join the negotiating team.
The comfortable hot bath relaxed Andy thoroughly, wiped him clean with a bath towel, put a bathrobe on him and walked outside, taking a cigarette light out of the cigarette box on the desk in the bedroom, looking out the window at night sky, very tangled.
The moody heart of the party animal collided with the idea of a quiet death home every day as the body grew stronger.
Suppress that impulse, Andy, put out the smoke, turn off the light and go to sleep.
The next day, at dawn, Karl left in a blaze and started calling in the car, almost searching all the TV sources he knew in the phone book.
Andy got in the car after breakfast and wandered around Hollywood for two months. He didn't really look around, some of it was just memories.
Rodeo Avenue is the finest and most exquisite clothing mall in Los Angeles, with designs from some of the world's most popular international masters. Rodeo Avenue is boldly decorated with plenty of gorgeous decor to suit its status as "the world's busiest and most expensive shopping avenue”.
Beverly Hills and Beverly Four Seasons are two of Los Angeles' finest hotels on both ends of Rodeo Avenue. There are more than 100 famous branded stores and high-end bespoke branded stores at the top of the ivory tower in fashion.
Immediately next to Rodeo Avenue include Rodeo 2nd Avenue and some European model shops, as well as pebble streets, fountains and taverns.
Andy looked at everything so fresh and curious, he left virtually no store with any distinctive features except the women's clothing store, and he found a lot of favorites, constantly swiping cards from a wide variety of merchandise, and the mess added up to eight or nine bags.
The feeling of being rich is really happy, seeing what you like buy without having to negotiate the price, and this economic freedom makes Andy very comfortable.
Think of yourself, the mortgage, the car loan, he can barely breathe, he can't even marry, he thinks of marriage, he thinks of his girlfriend.
Hey...
With a sigh of relief, Andy didn't go on and get involved with the past, and now he thinks those are just futile troubles.
After a few days of wandering around, Nelson and Carl led the team in early communication and negotiations with several television stations interested in buying ideas, leaving the NBC (the National Broadcasting Corporation of America) and CBS (the Colombian Broadcasting Corporation) with the most sincerity.
Andy looked at the file in his hand, threw it at his desk, looked at Nelson and Carl sitting opposite him, gently turned the pen in his hand and frowned.
“NBC is only willing to bid $8 million to buy out copyright across the United States, reject ad revenue sharing, and CBS is only willing to bid $5 million, equally rejecting ad sharing.” Nelson looked at frowned Andy and explained.
“Humph.” Andy laughed in his heart, and they looked at their inability to make, so they pressed the price desperately.
“Carl, how's the British connection going?” Andy looked at Karl, who had been stunned, and asked.
“UK Independent TV is willing to bid £30 million plus 10% ad revenue to buy out our global copyright!” Karl hasn't woken up from the call he just received, he's just recapitulating it.
Nelson and Andy looked at each other with some surprise, and they said, "What's going on? ”
“Ahhh! Rich, Andy, we're rich...” Karl, awake from his dementia, jumped from the sky, and his fat trembled, very funny.
“Okay, just take it easy. Tell us what's going on.” Andy turned a white eye and asked out loud.
“Hahaha, I heard it seems like someone on their TV recently came up with an idea for a show, somewhat similar to our idea for a show, just not as perfect and novel as we are, they haven't heard back from me since I faxed them over, I called them on the way here today to tell me they were buying!” Carl still laughs with excitement and looks like a little man.
Nelson and Andy met face-to-face, and at the same time, they were fortunate enough to hold the copyright in their hands early on.
“Congratulations, boss, you've become a billionaire, perhaps soon you'll be a young billionaire!” Nelson's eyes sparkled with envy and stood up to congratulate him.
“Oh, thank you, it's all luck, who would have thought the by-product of writing a novel was so valuable! However, I will not sell global copyright and tell them that I will only sell copyright to their UK region and that I can give up the share of advertising proceeds.” Andy's heartbreak ecstatic, but not out of his mind, holds global copyright only in his own hands.
“Nelson, I give you authorization, you and Carl are responsible for negotiating with them. ”
“No problem, boss. Don't worry.” Nelson was equally interested in negotiating the business, and after all, he could get a good reward.
“Also, Carl, the contract with Scholar Press has been signed. When will my book be published?” Andy asked the agent beside him.
“I've already asked, they said they'll see the paper in the next few days, and the advance publicity will be in place.” Carl was still very excited.
Andy nodded softly, clapped his hands off the table, stood up, smiled and said to Carl: "Give me the place. You're the manager here. I'm leaving. I'll leave the rest to you. ”
Andy waved his hand so Cole and Nelson, standing at the door, didn't have to walk themselves out of the building.
This three-story small building is the office space of the Mockingjay Copyright Company, located in West Hollywood, and the walls are slightly flaky, the company's signature has been hung up, and a flaming Mockingjay badge shines in the sun.
The Scholar Press did move very quickly, and in two days, more than a dozen newspapers across the United States reported on Andy's new book.
Walking into the company, there are a few new faces in the company today, especially the two front desk ladies, they are about 1 meter and 7 meters tall, the body is hot, the five officials can get by, but the makeup on the face is really a bit thick, Andy looked at it a few times and didn't have much interest.
“Nima, Karl, this fat son of a bitch is going to enjoy it. He's not a fantastic girl, but he's also going to be a beauty. He's not fucking playing with the diving rules again!” Andy complained in a dark way.
“Hello, Mr. Smith, Manager Carl and Attorney Nelson are waiting for you in the manager's office.” One of the receptionists smiled like a flower and said.
Andy nodded with a smile and looked at the white shirt that was almost going to burst and couldn't help but admire "Janima Dae! ”
I pushed the door open and saw Carl and Nelson all dressed up in leather suits, chatting without a word.
“How's it going? Can you decide today? Thank you for your hard work these days.” Andy sat on the couch and watched the two men who had been working for him run off and said.
“Oh, my God, Andy, you're finally here.” Karl complained in disgruntlement.
“Hey, Carl, why don't you stop complaining, and since I'm here, we're not leaving right now.” Andy was not angry to interrupt Carl's nagging, looking at Nelson.
“Oh, time's almost up, there's something we're talking about on the way.” Nelson picked up the briefcase and slowly started talking about the two days of negotiations behind Andy.
By the time the Four Seasons Hotel arrived, Andy saw five or six people sitting on the couch in the lounge and walked into the lobby, quickly starting to tidy up and walking towards them.
Andy still had some impressions of a couple of people, and this was his negotiating team, and when the two parties got round, he went to the elevator.
“Ding."
As soon as the elevator door opened, Andy saw Steve Fry, the head of the distribution department representing the British Independent Television (BITV) negotiations, who had already met once before.
“Hello, Mr. Smith. Nice to see you again.” Steve Fry smiled, reaching out and holding Andy's hand in everything.
“Hello, Mr. Fry, thank you for waiting.” Andy had a bright smile on his handsome face.
“This way, please. The vice president of Zongyi, who runs our television station, has been waiting inside for a long time. ”
Andy looked back at Nelson and nodded his head slightly, giving him a reassuring look, and he couldn't help but speed up his feet a bit.
Pushing through the conference room door, a 50-year-old Mediterranean hairstyle, some slightly fat middle-aged man, stood up from his seat with a smile on his face and walked in front of Andy in a crowd of people.
“This is our vice president, Ed. Mr. Charles, Mr. Charles, this is Mr. Andy Smith.” Introduced by Steve Fry.
Charles shook Andy's hand with a smile when he heard it: "It's good to see you, Mr. Smith, you're so young. ”
Andy also shook his hand with a smile on his face and said, "It's an honor to meet you. ”
After they let go, after a few chills, the two groups sat down, but the leader was no longer Andy. Nelson and Carl, along with Andy's financial advisor, formed a senior negotiator, and Andy knew he was a mascot and could only stand by and watch them serve their interests.
