"Demon King, now what?

"So if you don't need it. Fine, now you don't have to pay."

Another mayor who came out next couldn't believe Merle's words either, and he had heard them back again and again.

"Can I take it as meaning as it is that you don't have to pay?

"Fine. I mean, not quite? Not until the town's alive."

The mayor of a town ruling along the mountain had many avalanches and disasters this year, losing many of the fields and private houses he had created and even in a tough situation to pay taxes.

After informing him of this, he decided directly whether he could make less taxes.

Merle then ran out of money saying he wouldn't need any taxes until the town was rebuilt.

"It will take a while for us to get back to town vibrant. It's hard for me to predict exactly how many years ahead."

"Is it going to take that long?

"Due to the avalanche, my town lost not only things, but people as well. Some of them were young people with a future. It was originally a neglected town, but because of the disaster that struck it in the middle of it, the status quo, our town, is one step ahead of the devastation."

"That's tough. Then we'll send in Slime and the castle soldiers, so we can bribe them. Anything else you need to rebuild, anything in the castle, you can have it."

"Yes?"

The mayor doubted my ears on too many offers.

Not only do we not have to fix taxes, but we need to send soldiers and even use the equipment in the castle.

This is something no previous king could have thought of.

Even if the town was bitter, it was always demanded a certain crop and there were no troop dispatches, etc.

Merle gave the mayor an unexpected answer. But the mayor guided the future that a lot of bills would come later for doing that.

"I appreciate the sentiment, but you don't have much money to pay for sending out soldiers. If you throw in my personal belongings, it doesn't seem like a huge amount."

"What? What are you talking about? I'm not charging you any money. It's okay for free. For free."

"Huh?... is that... is it really there"

Ask to be sure. Merle was checked many times for words and distorted his face as a little irritated.

"We're all persistent. Fine. Fix the town faster than that. I'll instruct you to open the castle's vault, so take what you need from there. Do you also need a carriage? Lucille, come on, soldier."

"Yes, sir."

Lucille, who had refrained, summoned the soldiers, and let them assemble before the throne.

The king was gone, but Merle had left the soldiers that remained in the castle intact. It was the initially bewildered soldiers, but they were also made an outrageous demand in the same good sense as the mayor of the town today, serving as soldiers of the Demon King.

"This mayor's town can't get around with reconstruction. Let me give you a hand. And get him a carriage."

"Jesus, Demon King!

"That reply is so creepy"

A reply to the Demon King that was fashionable before you knew it.

Merle had ordered the soldiers who had previously replied "Your Will" to stop because they were tough. The resulting reply was this.

However, the soldier and the demon king had been able to narrow the distance with only a few exchanges of replies.

"Now, Lord Mayor, I will lead you to the reserve. Come here."

The mayor left the throne room as the soldiers guided him. The mayor had the same face as the first mayor to leave, rebelling his current interaction over and over again in his head.
