Chapter 1588: Trap Again?
Tier-3 Sub-Post
After exiting the essence chamber, I immediately went to take a bath. The bathroom was wide and spacious. The residential accommodation was good.
I spent 20 minutes in the bath before coming out. I realized it was midnight. I had a rest day tomorrow.
I took the new uniform from the storage ring and put it on. It was a simple black shirt and pants.
It was for daily wear. After checking myself in the mirror, I changed clothes again, since it was going to be a rest day.
I decided to spend the night in the room. I took a few minutes to change into comfortable clothes, then I walked into the living area.
My gaze fell on the big screen. My eyes gleamed with a twinkle.
"How did I miss it?" I asked myself.
Then I found the remote on the table and turned on the big screen. Next, I sat down on the sofa. The first thing that started playing was the news.
The female news anchor was talking about important events that happened in both the Sub-Post and the Main Post.
I didn’t know why, but I felt a wave of relaxation wash over me. The Sub-Post and the Main Post were not that closed off; information from there was still shared in the Sub-Post.
[Elite Race Humanoids have started making their appearance in the Secret Land Battlefield. The Veteran Red Mark Teams have managed to withstand them.]
Hearing that, I raised my eyebrows.
"Secret Land Battlefield," I uttered in shock.
I couldn’t help but recall the memory of when I first got the Shock Force Integration Method. The memory from that Ancient Inheritance had played out in my mind during that time.
It was an old memory of an earth-shattering battle that took place inside the secret land.
I gained some clarity and realized it was entirely possible, because the regular warrior camp battlefield and the boundary battlefield wouldn’t be able to withstand the power of a Red Mark Warrior.
Now, I understood why Dean Jerome was alarmed when the Thorn Reaper appeared back at the Boundary.
That Thorn Reaper with Red Mark strength did possess the power to shatter the boundary and bring harm to the Tier-4 region.
No wonder Dean Jerome said that foreign creatures broke the rules. I shook my head and pushed the unnecessary thoughts to the back of my mind.
I was able to get more information thanks to the news channel.
A few minutes later,
Knock!
Someone knocked on the door. Hearing that, I was confused. It had been only a day since I arrived here, and I had met only two people so far.
I stood up and went to the door. There was a device next to the door to see visitors outside. I pressed the button and saw four warriors standing outside.
Everyone was wearing the same black uniform. All four of them were strangers.
A hint of confusion appeared in my eyes. Who would come to see me?
"Are you sure?"
"Is this the room?" the warriors asked each other.
"I think it’s the room. Why would Silas lie?"
"He saw the target being escorted by Warrior Marie," another warrior said.
Hearing that, the faces of the warriors changed. All four of them were there to check on the target. They wanted to know whether the target, Zack Lockwood, was staying in the room or not.
They all knew he had come to the residential area, but they didn’t know the exact room number. They had made a guess.
Every new warrior was given an allocated room first, and then they could make a request to change. This last room was empty on the 15th floor.
They assumed Zack Lockwood might be allocated here.
But no matter how many times they pressed the bell, the door did not open. If not for the strict rules, they would have already broken into the room to check.
"Let’s go back. He cannot escape the training camp. He will be there the day after tomorrow," one of them said.
The other three agreed. They had come here on a whim to check, and since their attempt had failed, they decided to go back.
But they didn’t know that everything was heard by someone.
Inside the room, my heart turned cold. Dean Jerome was right. These people were after me right away. All four of them were Red Mark Warriors.
It was an eye-opener for me. Just as I turned around to go back, I heard another set of footsteps.
This time I was stunned, because two beautiful female warriors arrived in front of my door.
"Is this the room?" a blonde-haired warrior asked her friend.
Her black-haired friend nodded.
"Those guys from Dark Shadow University went to the 15th Building. It’s the only available room on all the floors," she said.
"Would he join our team?" the blonde-haired warrior asked.
"He will. He doesn’t have any other choice. If he fights alone, the elite races will kill him with ease," her friend said.
"Let’s talk to him." After saying that, the blonde-haired woman pressed the bell.
On the other side, I heard the whole conversation while standing beside the door. I understood that these two had come with different intentions.
They were not like the previous group. These two females were not hostile, and they didn’t seem to be from Dark Shadow University.
I started to feel some goodwill, but my instincts told me to wait a little longer. These people could turn out like Silas. When this thought occurred to me, I became serious.
I decided to wait and watch a little longer.
Buzz!
The buzzer continued to ring, but I didn’t open the door.
Outside,
The blonde-haired woman lost her composure.
"No one is here. We should end this act and find another opportunity," the blonde-haired woman said in a cold tone.
"If the target were here, he would have definitely fallen for your beauty," the black-haired woman said.
"We will see him in the training camp," the blonde-haired woman uttered.
Then, both of them left.
Inside, my heart turned cold again. It appeared I should completely avoid interacting with people until I figured out what was going on.
