The Dead Fang was completely dead. A pool of dark blood formed around it. The runes were not glowing anymore; they had become dull. Its death had caused the power to dissipate.

Even if someone touched the corpse, they wouldn’t be affected by the dark energy.

Uproar!

I heard a huge uproar the next second. The vertical space crack was healing. Seeing that, the warriors were celebrating.

I looked around. I found many of them looking at me, but I also saw the dead bodies as well. All of them were mutilated, their body parts missing.

Seeing such a result, I didn’t feel happy. The foreign creature was new to me. If I had known about its power, I would have acted faster and saved them.

They didn’t have to lose their lives in vain. I recalled the name uttered by Senior Stella earlier. She had called it a "Dead Fang."

What a strange name. The next second, someone appeared next to me. I turned sideways and saw the person was none other than Stella.

"You saved us," she said in a serious tone.

I shook my head.

"Warriors have died as well," I replied.

Stella heard that and understood it must be new for Zack Lockwood to face a Dead Fang for the first time.

"It’s not your fault. No one expected a Dead Fang to appear. I guess even Dean Jerome would be surprised," she said.

"If not for you, everyone would have died. Then the Dead Fang would have returned through the space crack," she added.

Observing their conversation, the veterans approached them as well.

"Zack Lockwood, you have truly saved our lives."

"The Dead Fang can wipe out everyone in under five minutes. It’s a deadly killer."

"We ignored you before, but you saved our lives."

"We apologize for past mistakes."

One after another, the veteran warriors stated their opinions. They were all strong Purple Mark Warriors.

Everywhere they went, they would command respect, but here, everyone was thanking Zack Lockwood for saving their lives.

At the same time, I didn’t expect this sudden turn of events, the warriors speaking to me. I didn’t ignore them and accepted their thanks.

The injured warriors were taken to the medical center.

I thanked Stella and the others before heading back toward the tent room. I shut the door and went back to the sofa.

Next, I lay on the sofa and closed my eyes. The battle was too tiring for me. The inheritance force in my dantian was completely gone.

Many warriors shifted to other Boundaries. No Dead Fang appearance was reported in any other Boundary.

Now that he knew Zack Lockwood saved everyone in Boundary No. 5, he thought the foreign creatures had sent the Dead Fang to target Zack Lockwood.

The news of Zack Lockwood staying in the boundary could not be hidden. Now everyone on the campus knew about it, including the faction leaders and the main elders.

He thought the news might have reached the ears of spies. Jerome’s expression became serious. He wanted to save Zack Lockwood. At the same time, he needed to protect others and the boundary as well.

The higher-ups had not responded to his call. He didn’t have many choices other than to hide Zack Lockwood away, but that would do more damage to Zack Lockwood.

A single Dead Fang was enough to annihilate a Boundary or Battlefield. They were hoping to hear news that the target, Zack Lockwood, had been killed by the Dead Fang.

Now that the closure of the fissure confirmed the fact that the Dead Fang was actually dead, it caused shock and panic among the foreign creatures.

They knew it was not easy to kill a Dead Fang. It took extraordinary power to kill one. They knew it was impossible for a Red Mark Warrior to appear in the Boundary.

If anyone had dared to make an appearance, they would have known. On the other hand, the numbers of Dead Fang Elites were low on the foreign creatures’ side.

They rarely deployed them to the battlefield unless the situation was serious. This time, it had demanded the use of a Dead Fang.

Yet they had lost the chance again. First, they needed to verify the cause of death. They wanted to know who killed the Dead Fang first.

They doubted Zack Lockwood killed the Dead Fang alone; they thought there must be more to it. The higher-ups dispersed from the place.

The death of the Dead Fang could not be hidden. The news spread across the different foreign creatures. The news reached the ears of the elites as well.

It reached the ears of the horned humanoids and the dead fangs. The horned humanoids were in disbelief and shock.

The dead fangs were angry. They took the matter seriously and demanded information from the higher-ups.
