Meanwhile, after some research, Kai York and Shane Rhodes discovered that the possibility of them undergoing a second awakening was very small. This wasn’t an issue of their talent, but of their age.

Both of them were past the prime age.

It wasn’t by much, but they were still over the limit.

It wasn’t that being over the age limit made a second awakening impossible, just that the difficulty was significantly higher.

For example, Moira Lynch had only needed a single Awakening Stone for her awakening, but Kai York and Shane Rhodes might require ten or even more.

And the older they were, the harder it would become.

Moira Lynch’s awakening took a full two days and two nights. She finally woke up in the early hours of the morning.

Slowly opening her eyes, Moira Lynch’s first thought was how heavy everything pressing down on her felt.

She sat up and saw that her clothes and the blanket covering her were soaked through. No wonder they felt so heavy. On top of that, the mattress beneath her hadn’t been spared either.

Moira Lynch got out of bed, went to the bathroom for a shower, and changed into a clean set of clothes.

Her mind was still a bit groggy, but she felt much better. Her second awakening had been a success.

It was worth noting that since her first awakened talent had been a mutation, her second one was also highly likely to be mutated.

She held out her hand, and a small flame flickered to life in her palm.

Unlike an ordinary flame, the one in Moira Lynch’s hand was black and white, the two colors interwoven.

’It looks just like the symbol on Moon Wheel.’

The instant she saw the flame, Moira Lynch thought of Moon Wheel.

’It must be a coincidence.’

Looking at the flame in her hand, Moira Lynch murmured to herself, "It really is a mutation."

Although the talent looked like fire, its actual ability had nothing to do with it.

Moira Lynch’s first talent possessed two Attributes: Spirit Attribute as the primary, and spatial attribute as the secondary.

This second talent also had two Attributes—light and dark—but its mutation seemed even more radical.

The two Attributes were perfectly balanced, so there was no question of one being primary and the other secondary.

The white flame, representing the light attribute, possessed the ability to heal. The black flame, representing the Dark Attribute, possessed the ability to destroy.

Two of the most extreme and opposite Attributes had manifested in a single talent.

"Patience, has a situation like this ever happened in the galaxy before?"

[It has. Someone once awakened a ’fire in water’ talent.]

’The image Patience pulled up showed a flame burning in water. It was actually quite beautiful.’

"And what happened to him?"

[He is now the most capable adjutant to Interstellar Marshal Day.]

"So, in other words, having two mutually exclusive elements together won’t cause any problems."

[Correct. However, every mutated talent is unique. Even seemingly identical mutations will have slight differences. Therefore, the Awakener must explore and develop it on their own through training.]

Moira Lynch was lost in thought after hearing this. ’Explore it on my own?’

After resting for a moment, Moira Lynch opened the curtains and was instantly shocked by the scene outside.

She rubbed her eyes in disbelief. ’Did I transmigrate again?’

The yard, which had been completely bare just two days ago, was now overgrown with weeds and all sorts of lush, green plants.

It was only then that Moira Lynch noticed the heat-insulating pads in her room had been removed at some unknown time.

The temperature in the room had dropped as well; it no longer felt hot even without wearing a Chimefin scale.

’What in the world is going on?’

"Patience, was I asleep for two days or two months?" ’Why has so much changed?’

After confirming multiple times that she had indeed been unconscious for two days, not two months, Moira Lynch was certain: the problem wasn’t with her, but with the world.

Moira Lynch may have been unconscious, but Patience wasn’t.

After Patience filled her in on the changes that had occurred over the past two days, she felt as if she’d woken up in a fantasy world.

As if remembering something, Moira Lynch opened her online shop. Just as she’d expected, she had received many order cancellations for Water-cooling Stones.

Since the weather had returned to normal, people naturally no longer needed Water-cooling Stones. She could sell them all to SoySauceDrunkard to at least make some money back.

Moira Lynch didn’t have much of a reaction to this; she had long anticipated this day would come.

’Besides, the money those people got back from the Water-cooling Stones would eventually be spent in my shop anyway. It all comes back to me in the end, just through a different method.’

Then, she delisted the items related to the Extremely Hot Mushroom. She had originally thought she could collect them for a few more days, but the temperature had dropped far faster than she had imagined.

In the morning, Shane Rhodes and Kai York watched Moira Lynch walk down the stairs, their faces showing clear surprise. ’It’s only been two days, and she’s already successfully awakened?’

"Good morning, Moira! How did the second awakening go?" Kai York asked.

Moira plopped down in her seat. "Not bad," she said. "My head’s still a little dizzy, but the awakening was a success."

She knew the two of them were already aware of second awakenings, so she didn’t hide it.

"Really? So what talent did you awaken?" Kai York asked excitedly.

At his words, even Shane Rhodes stopped what he was doing, waiting for Moira’s answer.

In response, Moira opened her palm, and a wisp of white flame appeared in her hand.

She had already decided to hide the black flame and only show the white one to others.

"A Fire Talent! That’s great! They have powerful attacks," Kai York chortled, so happy one might think he was the one who’d awakened the talent.

Moira looked at him, her expression deadpan. "It’s not a Fire Talent. It’s a Healing Talent. It’s just a mutation."

Kai York’s laughter died in his throat. He stared, wide-eyed, at the white flame flickering in her hand. "This... is a Healing Talent?" ’You’ve got to be kidding me. It looks exactly like a ball of fire.’

Just then, Kai York suddenly grabbed Shane Rhodes, who was standing nearby, and pried open his hand. There was a noticeable cut on one of his fingers, likely from accidentally nicking himself while chopping vegetables.

"If it’s a Healing Talent, then let’s see if it can heal this cut."

Moira moved the flame in her hand directly over to it.

The moment the flame touched his skin, Shane Rhodes felt no burning sensation at all. Instead, the cut on his hand began to heal at a rate visible to the naked eye.

"How does it feel?"

Shane Rhodes looked at his completely healed wound and remarked, "It’s definitely not a Fire Talent. There was no burning sensation during the healing process. In fact, it felt very warm."

"Then again, my cut wasn’t very deep. I wonder what the limits of your talent’s healing are."

Moira picked up her breakfast from the table and began to eat, saying casually, "We’ll find out eventually."

Compared to this still-developing second talent, she placed more importance on her first one.
