Chapter 103: Sea Competition 10
Having found a weakness, the group moved with great speed.
Before the Gigas Hornstars could awaken, they finally managed to gather one hundred of their tentacles.
After submitting all one hundred tentacles, the three stars on Shane Rhodes’s Task Card all lit up.
It was only the second day of the game, and two of them had already completed their tasks.
No, that wasn’t right. It was actually three. Moira Lynch had just glanced at her own Task Card, and all three stars on it had lit up as well.
Now, all they had to do was help Hugh Finch find the Isle Turtle.
Moira was really looking forward to this natural treasure trove. ’There must be a lot of good stuff on it,’ she thought.
The group had been busy at the bottom of the sea for so long that even though it wasn’t mealtime yet, their stomachs were already growling.
People are made of iron, and food is made of steel; miss one meal and you’ll be starving.
Before searching for the Isle Turtle, the group decided to eat first. After all, you need a full stomach to have strength.
Besides, they had more than enough food with them, so there was no need to skimp.
After they had eaten and drunk their fill, Moira Lynch summoned the Cetabeast.
As agreed, the Cetabeast took them to the last known location of the Isle Turtle.
Staring out at the boundless expanse of sea around them, the group could only feel lost.
"Are you sure this is where the Isle Turtle was last seen?"
Moira Lynch nodded. "The Cetabeast said it was here."
"But there’s nothing around here except for water." There wasn’t even any cover, making it impossible to hide anything.
Moira Lynch’s spiritual power didn’t detect anything either.
"If it’s not on the surface, maybe it’s underwater. Let’s go down and have a look," Hugh Finch suggested.
Moira and the other two agreed. This was Hugh Finch’s task, after all; they couldn’t always follow their own ideas.
Besides, Hugh Finch himself was a fortune teller.
And although the Divination Talent was considered the most useless talent in the galaxy, that didn’t mean the ability wasn’t powerful.
At the very least, no one could rival a fortune teller’s ability to pursue fortune and avoid disaster.
Just then, the sound of splashing water came from the distance.
Moira Lynch immediately looked toward the sound and saw a boat paddling toward them from far away.
At the sight, a bad feeling welled up inside Moira. It seemed those people were coming for them.
Through her binoculars, she could clearly see the hostile expressions on the faces of the people on the boat, and they were looking directly in their direction.
The boat was one of the largest ones from the dock. There were seven people on board: six men and one woman.
Moira didn’t recognize the men, but she could tell from their faces that they were trouble. The woman, however, she knew. It was Alice, whom she had encountered in the instance before.
Moira’s first thought was that she was done for. ’Could they have recognized me?’
But then she thought it was impossible. During the game, she had been completely covered up, with only her eyes showing.
Once they confirmed the newcomers’ hostile intentions, the group jumped into the sea without hesitation. Moira even flipped their own boat over and stuffed it into her Space Button on the way down.
The game only lasted for three days; they didn’t want to waste any time on these people here.
Meanwhile, the people on the approaching boat realized they’d been spotted when they saw Moira’s group not only suddenly jump into the sea but even flip their own boat over.
One of the men, who had a scar on his face, cursed viciously before looking at Alice beside him. "Boss, they jumped into the sea. Should we still chase them?"
Alice glared viciously at the now-calm surface of the sea. "They only jumped into the water. I don’t believe they can hold their breath forever. You take some men and patrol this area. The moment you see anyone surface..."
Alice made a throat-slitting gesture with her hand.
Having swum near the boat, Moira heard Alice’s words and couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
’Waiting to ambush us when we come up for air? Look at you, thinking you’re so clever.’
Moira had no intention of just waiting to be killed. The last time they were in a game, this Alice had tried to make a move on her, and now she was trying it again.
Did she really think Moira was just a piece of clay she could mold however she pleased, without any temper at all?
Moira took out a few plastic bags, filled them with water and a Water Bomb each, then poked a few small holes in the bottom. Using her spiritual power, she sent them floating toward the back of the enemy boat.
Alice and her crew were focused entirely on the area in front of them, so naturally, they didn’t notice what was happening behind them.
After deploying several of these timed water bombs, Moira figured that was enough and went to rejoin Shane Rhodes and the others.
This area of the sea wasn’t infested with Sea Thorn Balls or Gigas Hornstars; the seafloor was a thriving scene.
As Moira used her spiritual power to collect various shellfish, Salt Stones, and Water Bombs, she also looked for other resources she could take with her.
Suddenly, something emitting a green fluorescent glow in the distance caught Moira’s attention.
Parting the thick seaweed, she found a mountain-like green crystal before her.
[Isle Turtle’s Excrement: Possesses extremely high medicinal value. Can also be burned as incense; its elegant fragrance can induce sleep, soothe nerves, and restore spiritual power. It is also of great help to the growth of a Spiritual Body and is very popular throughout the galaxy.]
After reading the description, Moira fell silent.
Although this Isle Turtle excrement sounded incredibly impressive, she... suddenly felt a sense of hesitation.
But she quickly convinced herself. ’So what if it’s Isle Turtle poop? Ambergris is just Sperm Whale poop, and it still sells for more than Gold.’
’Silkworm Sand, Human Yellow, White Spirit Incense, Coiled Dragon, Night Bright Sand, Moon Gazing Sand—those are all poop, too, and aren’t they all used for medicine?’
Thinking of this, Moira felt much better about it.
Moreover, in Patience’s description, Moira had encountered an unfamiliar term for the first time: Spiritual Body. ’What is that? I’ll have to look it up after the game is over.’
She stored the pile of Isle Turtle excrement in her space.
The stuff had extremely high medicinal value, but the description didn’t say how to use it. Moira’s original plan was to sell it directly to the government; professional matters were best left to professionals.
However, after seeing that it was beneficial for the growth of a Spiritual Body, she decided to keep a portion for herself for future needs, even though she didn’t know what a Spiritual Body was.
"Patience, is there any more Isle Turtle excrement around here?"
[Yes. The Isle Turtle excretes in a fixed location. This entire area is covered in it.]
Hearing this, Moira didn’t look happy at all. Instead, her expression twisted for a moment.
Excretes in a fixed location.
This entire area is covered in it!!
"Don’t tell me this whole section of the sea is the Isle Turtle’s toilet?"
This time, Patience said nothing, which seemed to be a tacit admission.
