Chapter 84: Exoskeleton Mecha
Shane Rhodes agreed to all of Moira Lynch’s conditions and asked, "So, what do you want?"
Hearing this, Moira Lynch thought for a moment. What did she want? That was actually a little hard to say because she didn’t lack anything.
But thinking about all the things she had bought since the extreme heat began, if she looked at it from that perspective, then the list of things she lacked was as vast as the sea.
Moira Lynch took out a piece of paper and started writing.
She covered all aspects of life—food, clothing, housing, and transportation—especially food and clothing.
Her public persona, after all, was someone who had stockpiled a lot of pet food because she couldn’t buy regular grains. So, asking for food wasn’t too much, right? She noted that it needed to have a long shelf life, and also added a Water-cooling Stone.
Seeing Moira Lynch’s request, it was clear they also knew about her pet food situation.
Looking at the cats and dogs all around, Shane Rhodes said, "The villa behind yours can be cleaned out for you today."
Moira Lynch nodded, then handed over the list. "Oh, and don’t contact the military just yet."
"Why?"
Kai York didn’t understand, but Shane Rhodes immediately did. "Because of SoySauceDrunkard."
Kai York was still confused. "What does our deal with the military have to do with SoySauceDrunkard? We’re not making a deal with him."
"After the last few games ended, SoySauceDrunkard listed a batch of new products every time. The first time, it was all kinds of interstellar machines. The second time, it was machines too, but the types were clearly different. The third time, it was the Water-cooling Stone and those animal organs. Poultry from Caelus wouldn’t have organs that big."
Hearing Shane Rhodes’ explanation, Kai York had a sudden realization. "You’re right. In that case, we’ll contact the military a bit later. We’ll just... AAH! Boss, quick, look at SoySauceDrunkard’s shop!"
Kai York, who had been in the middle of speaking, suddenly screamed.
Shane Rhodes jumped in surprise and frowned. "What is it? Why are you so jumpy? What happened with SoySauceDrunkard’s shop?"
Kai York looked up, his eyes wide with shock that hadn’t yet faded. He stammered, "Me-Mecha! And Flying Devices!"
Hearing this, Shane Rhodes also hurriedly opened the shop’s marketplace. To his astonishment, he saw Exoskeleton Mechas, Flying Devices, Anti-gravity Shoes, Gliding Cloaks, and even Space Buttons and temperature-regulating clothes listed for sale.
There weren’t many of each type, just a few, but they were undeniably real.
Moira Lynch had listed all these items while she was taking a shower. She hadn’t expected them to still be unsold. ’Did I set the price too high?’
However, Moira Lynch had no intention of lowering the price. This was just to stimulate the market.
Besides, she didn’t plan on selling everything she had brought back from the game this time. Some things weren’t meant to be used yet, like the dung from the Giant Lapine Beastmen.
Right now, people either didn’t cook, or if they did, they just had to put a pot out in the sun, which had the same effect as putting it over a fire.
After the initial shock, Shane Rhodes looked at the prices and instantly calmed down. "These things aren’t targeted at us. This is clearly bait thrown out by SoySauceDrunkard. I bet plenty of countries are already contacting him."
Standing to the side, Moira Lynch thought, ’You’re not wrong. My private messages in the backend are about to explode.’
’The previous lack of activity must have been because they were gathering resources.’
Moira Lynch glanced at her backend messages. Redlight was persistently messaging her, sending one message per minute.
People from other countries had also caught the scent and come looking. They claimed price was no issue and asked how many she had, saying they would take them all—especially the Exoskeleton Mechas.
What man’s heart wouldn’t be stirred by Mechas? Shane Rhodes and Kai York were no exception.
They definitely wouldn’t be able to snag the Mechas this time, but their superiors certainly could. They could trade for them.
In that case, their plans would have to change.
"Moira, do you want one?" Kai York asked.
Moira Lynch nodded decisively. "Yes." ’If I don’t get one now, how can I openly use an Exoskeleton Mecha in the future?’
After getting their answer, Shane Rhodes and Kai York got up to leave. As for the items she requested, they would leave them with Moira Lynch for now. After all, the weather was too hot; what if they took them back and they spoiled?
Shane Rhodes asked, "By the way, when can we start learning the interstellar language with you?"
"Let’s start tomorrow. I want to get a good rest today."
"Okay."
After the two left, Moira Lynch opened her shop’s one hundred item slots. Only a third of them were used for items like the Exoskeleton Mecha; the vast majority were filled with various vegetable essence tablets, Energy Bars, and Chimefin scales.
Moira Lynch herself didn’t lack vegetables, so these vegetable essence tablets weren’t of much use to her.
And besides, while a portion of these vegetable essence tablets were made sweet to cater to children’s tastes, the rest were for adults. The nutrition was concentrated, but so was the flavor. One bite felt like it would make your taste buds explode.
Among them were even a large number of tablets that tasted like cilantro and Fish Mint. For Moira Lynch, who ate neither, these weren’t vegetable essence tablets; they were practically poison.
Then there were the Energy Bars. From Patience, Moira Lynch had also learned why they were piled up in a warehouse despite having such a long shelf life.
It wasn’t because they were put there by mistake, but because their flavor was unpopular, leaving them unsold.
After taking a bite of an Energy Bar, Moira Lynch understood why they were unsold. Who in their right mind would make a perfectly good Energy Bar with the texture of soap? It would be a miracle if they sold at all.
Considering that the upper echelons of society didn’t actually lack vegetables or food, the people who needed these things the most were the ones at the bottom.
Moira Lynch unwrapped the vegetable essence tablets and listed them one by one, adding descriptions for the flavors: "Cilantro flavor. Fish Mint flavor. Caution to those who can’t stand them. Potent. Overconsumption is not advised."
She even thoughtfully noted how long until they expired.
This was to prevent people from buying them and being too reluctant to eat them, only to consume them after they expired and then come demanding compensation from her when something went wrong.
As for the Energy Bars, because they were too large, Moira Lynch cut them into slices to sell.
Each slice was the size of a palm and a finger thick. If eaten sparingly, one slice was enough to feed a person for several days.
The vegetable essence tablets, Energy Bar slices, and Chimefin scales were almost instantly snatched up the moment they were listed.
The remaining items, due to their higher prices, didn’t sell immediately, but it was only a matter of a few more minutes.
Because Shane Rhodes and Kai York were preparing to make a deal with their superiors, Moira Lynch didn’t list items like the Water Storage Mushrooms. After all, scarcity creates value.
Moira Lynch was still relentlessly listing vegetable essence tablets and Energy Bar slices. These people were just too fast.
She only had two hands, and she also had to control her spiritual power to slice the Energy Bars. She couldn’t keep up, she just couldn’t keep up at all.
