Chapter 160: Unidentifiable
The Body Building Aloe Vera didn’t have a fixed price. Moira Lynch had only said she wanted items, but not what kind.
Everyone assumed that whoever offered the rarest item would be the one to get the Body Building Aloe Vera.
But that was just what everyone else thought. In Moira Lynch’s eyes, practicality was what mattered most.
After opening her inbox, she was met with a dense wall of messages. Moira Lynch was already used to this sight.
Unlike before, however, this time everyone had sent information about various items. Some had even sent more than one.
Everyone knew that since SoySauceDrunkard was able to offer up Body Building Aloe Vera, she must have plenty more.
Redlight was even more extravagant, sending over twenty different items.
The item descriptions made it clear that there was no half-heartedness involved; each one had been carefully selected.
’How on earth did they get all of these?’ Moira Lynch wondered, looking at the dazzling array of items.
Among all the items Redlight sent, a pair of white wings caught Moira Lynch’s eye.
[Name: White Wings
Level: Cannot be Identified
Effect: Cannot be Identified
Quality: Cannot be Identified]
The three "Cannot be Identified" entries immediately drew Moira Lynch’s attention.
’When would an item be unidentifiable?’
First, the item’s quality is too high for the Identification.
Second, the appraiser’s level is too low.
Third, the item isn’t complete.
Fourth, the item hasn’t been activated.
Whatever the reason, it meant this pair of White Wings was something special.
Moira Lynch chose the wings without hesitation.
Next, her attention was caught by a clod of earth. Just like the White Wings, its stats were also "Cannot be Identified."
This time, however, Moira Lynch found information about the clod of earth from Patience.
[Name: Earth Soil
Level: Unknown
Effect: Improves soil quality and the environment
Quality: Unknown]
Moira Lynch’s eyes widened when she saw the information from Patience. ’Isn’t this exactly what I need?’
’This is just what the doctor ordered! With this Earth Soil, my Garbage Star can be saved!’
[Name: Egg of a Cloudsea Whale
A massive whale species capable of living in both the sky and on land. It can grow to a colossal size in adulthood.
Do not attempt to hatch unless you possess a planet covered entirely in water.]
Reading the last sentence, it was no wonder the Egg of a Cloudsea Whale was being offered up for trade.
After all, Caelus currently lacked the necessary conditions to hatch a Cloudsea Whale.
’But that’s fine. They might not have one, but I do.’
’What a coincidence. I just so happen to have a planet covered entirely in water.’
She had originally planned to use that planet as a farming base for Azure Shrimp and their sea grass.
’Now, it seemed that using it as a mere farming base would be a great waste of its potential.’
After settling on these three items, Moira Lynch selected a few other promising-looking ones.
Realistically, with her current stock of Body Building Aloe Vera, Moira Lynch couldn’t afford to take everything. However, acquiring most of them wouldn’t be a problem.
But considering how much Body Building Aloe Vera she had been using herself lately, Moira Lynch decided against it.
After the trades were complete, Redlight, as expected, contacted Moira Lynch to arrange a private trade for more Body Building Aloe Vera, but she refused.
...
Over the next few days, the temperature dropped again after a brief rise, eventually stabilizing between twenty-two and thirty-two degrees.
Moira Lynch looked it up; this was the ideal temperature range for most insects to thrive.
’The temperature is right. All that’s missing is the humidity.’
Moira Lynch looked up at the gloomy sky as the voice of Patience sounded in her ear.
[The humidity in the air is rising rapidly. Rain is expected in ten minutes.]
Ten minutes later, the heavy rain arrived right on schedule.
Moira Lynch watched the waterfall-like downpour outside. There was no joy on her face, only the grim resignation of seeing her worst fears confirmed.
’Whatever. I’ll just have to take it one step at a time.’
Shane Rhodes and the other two emerged from a room, covered in dust and grime.
Though they had chosen a spot in the backyard for the basement itself, the entrance was located inside the house.
Hearing the rain outside, Kai York couldn’t help but remark, "Good thing we listened to Hugh Finch and waterproofed the basement first. Otherwise, the last few days of work would’ve been for nothing."
A hot meal was already laid out on the table.
For the past few days, while the three of them dug the basement, Moira Lynch had been in charge of their three daily meals, occasionally using her Space Button to haul away the excavated dirt.
After quickly finishing their lunch, the three of them got back to work. Time was of the essence; with no telling when the insect plague would break out, they had to move fast.
Meanwhile, Moira Lynch cleaned up the table, checked the house for any leaks, and then returned to her room.
After locking the door, she took out the Talent Quality Enhancement Stone she had obtained from the game.
She hadn’t used it immediately because her second Talent hadn’t fully stabilized yet.
A milky-white stone appeared in her hand.
With a mere thought, the milky-white stone transformed into a streak of light and entered her body.
The next moment, Moira Lynch felt a warm energy enter her body through her limbs, then gather in her heart.
Feeling as if she were soaking in a hot spring, she couldn’t help but let out a contented sigh.
The sensation lasted for about half an hour before it faded.
Moira Lynch slowly opened her eyes. Without a moment to waste, she immediately began to inspect her two Talents.
She could clearly feel that her spiritual power had become more solid.
Moira Lynch gently clenched her fist, and a dagger formed from spiritual power materialized in her empty hand.
It only lasted for three seconds before vanishing, however.
Though it was only three seconds, for Moira Lynch, this was a quantum leap.
She knew from her prior research on spiritual power that materializing it was an ability only those with a Spiritual Talent could master, and even then, only after reaching level five.
In addition to her spiritual power, her spatial attribute had also been significantly enhanced.
With a thought, the space a meter away from her flickered with a faint distortion before quickly returning to normal.
The changes to her first Talent were a wonderful surprise, and she eagerly turned her attention to her second.
The once-intertwined flames had now completely separated, appearing almost like two distinct Talents.
The energy waves emanating from the white flame felt purer, while the black flame was precisely the opposite.
Even Moira Lynch, its master, felt a sense of threat from the black flame.
As if to thoroughly cool down the planet after the recent extreme heat, the heavy rain continued intermittently for ten days.
Over those ten days, the public mood shifted from initial excitement and joy to growing panic and impatience, until people were praying for the rain to stop.
