Chapter 184: Junior Brother or Male Consort?
"Maybe it’s because I’ve read a few books? And I had some guidance later on. I don’t think I have any particular kind of air about me."
Tang Wen rubbed his nose and joked, "Or maybe it’s just my face? Maybe I was born looking this distinguished?"
But Shui Yun didn’t laugh. She studied him seriously for a moment before nodding.
"Before my father brought you in, if I hadn’t heard someone call you Seventh Young Master and seen your plain clothes, I might have thought you were a boy toy he’d carefully selected just for me."
Tang Wen was completely dumbfounded.
’What a scandalous thing to say.’
Shui Yun smiled, her eyes shimmering like waves.
There even seemed to be a hint of regret in her expression.
After a few more steps, Tang Wen finally recovered his wits, occasionally glancing at Shui Yun’s profile.
"Senior Sister, you have... many boy toys?"
Shui Yun shook her head. "Not a single one."
After she spoke, she looked at Tang Wen.
He volunteered, "I have two Maids."
"Serve you during the day and warm your bed at night?"
’This Senior Sister is so forward.’
"Mhm," he answered sheepishly, a strange feeling bubbling up inside him.
’How should I put this feeling...’
’It was like a man telling a beautiful woman a dirty joke.’
’He’d expect a reaction like a shy, flirtatious eye-roll afterward.’
’But instead, the beauty wasn’t shy at all. She just gave him a disdainful look that screamed, *’You’re just a kid,’* and then proceeded to tell him three even racier jokes in a row!’
Shui Yun’s pace faltered, an inexplicable irritation rising in her heart.
Of course, this didn’t mean she had developed feelings for Tang Wen.
It was more the possessiveness a dominant woman feels for a man she finds attractive acting up.
It was like when Tang Wen scrolled through short-form videos in his past life. Whenever he saw a gorgeous woman’s boyfriend, he’d scrutinize the guy from every angle and find him completely unappealing, just plain annoying to look at.
Shui Yun was feeling something quite similar:
"Are they Martial Disciples or Martial Artists?"
The mention of this made Tang Wen want to sigh.
"Just ordinary people."
’Huh?’
’There’s a hidden meaning in her question.’
Seeing the slightly distressed look in Tang Wen’s eyes, Shui Yun began to laugh.
"It seems you really did come from an ordinary camp."
Tang Wen’s eyes filled with curiosity. "What do you mean?"
’Is there some sort of special consideration for this?’
’This concerned the great matter of his future bliss, so he couldn’t help but be concerned.’
"Generally speaking, an ordinary woman can only handle a Martial Disciple," Shui Yun said with a faint, knowing smile.
Tang Wen was speechless.
He had understood the principle for a long time.
The better one’s martial arts and the stronger one’s Constitution, the harder it was to find satisfaction.
"Indulging your desires too early will affect your chances of becoming an Extraordinary."
Tang Wen immediately put on an act. He stopped in his tracks, his expression freezing.
His lips parted with difficulty. "I... no longer have any use for those ’chances’ now." ’That’s right, I’m already an Extraordinary, so I don’t need them.’
"Hahahahaha!"
Shui Yun burst out laughing. "Junior Brother, you’re so amusing when you try to act tough!"
As they spoke, the two of them had already skirted the training grounds and arrived at a pavilion, where they sat down for tea.
Tang Wen argued back, "I’m not, I didn’t! Senior Sister, you can’t just make baseless accusations against me."
"Heh, is that so?" The smile never left Shui Yun’s face. "Just now, in the room, you stole three glances at Aunt Lian. Two of them were at her exquisite feet."
Instantly, Tang Wen’s cheeks flushed crimson. "What do you mean, stole glances? What exquisite feet? It was a coincidence, a coincidence! Do you understand? My gaze just happened to land there, and coincidentally, her feet were there too. Besides, I don’t even like feet..."
Shui Yun picked up her teacup. Watching him scramble to explain, she found that the tea she’d long since grown tired of now tasted wonderfully sweet.
’This Junior Brother isn’t a boy toy, but he’s far more interesting than one.’
With a flicker in her eyes, she crossed her long, slender legs.
They were dazzlingly fair in the sunlight.
Tang Wen’s words died in his throat. He smoothly picked up his teacup.
’This tea is so... fair.’
Shui Yun chuckled inwardly and asked, "Are they nice to look at?"
Tang Wen sat bolt upright, lowering his head to sip his tea.
He put on an expression that said he had no idea what his Senior Sister was talking about.
"Hah!"
Shui Yun let out a soft chuckle.
Sitting beside her, Tang Wen made a silent vow. ’Have some damn pride! So what if I’ve never been fully satisfied in bed? If I can’t eat my fill, what’s the point of just looking?’
’Hold it together!’
’Can’t let a woman look down on me!’
Shui Yun arched the toes of her left foot, and with a gentle flick of her right, she kicked off her shoe.
The black training shoe slipped off.
Tang Wen turned his head for a peek, only to meet a pair of teasing eyes.
He quickly looked away and lowered his head to refill his teacup.
’I won’t look. What’s so interesting about a sock, anyway?’
But as he lowered his head, his gaze caught what looked like an invisible hand slowly and steadily rolling down the white sock.
It revealed a foot as perfect as White Jade.
’Who could possibly resist looking at that?!’
"Entrapment! Senior Sister, this is entrapment!"
Although she didn’t understand the word, Tang Wen’s flustered and exasperated expression was amusing enough.
She laughed so hard her body shook.
At this, Tang Wen didn’t know whether to look up or down.
’Senior Sister is really well-endowed!’
’She’s got good points from top to bottom.’
’Truly worthy of a transformed Veteran Extraordinary.’
"Staring like a fool! How about it? Want to consider being your Senior Sister’s boy toy?" Shui Yun teased.
’Why is it always ’boy toy’ this, ’boy toy’ that with her?’
’Serene, domineering, and... flirtatious.’
’We only just met.’
’And yet she’s already shown three completely different sides of herself.’
’You could almost call her capricious.’
Shui Yun was the master of the Seven Kills Hall; she could order the slaughter of an entire family as easily as she could laugh and chat.
Teasing Tang Wen was just a whim, a passing fancy sparked by his good looks.
If it weren’t for the fact that Shui Yun, who lacked certain experiences, was worried that a "mere Young Martial Artist" like Tang Wen wouldn’t be able to handle the strain, her teasing might not have been limited to just words.
Tang Wen rolled his eyes. "Thank you for the generous offer, Senior Sister, but I’ve dedicated my life to saving all the unhappy, beautiful young wives of the world. I’ll have to pass on being a boy toy."
"Tsk, tsk. Such lofty ambitions. So, it turns out you like older women, Junior Brother."
"Er, Senior Sister, please don’t jump to conclusions."
’This woman is so annoying. How is she so accurate about my preferences?’
’Was I really that obvious?’
"In that case, you’d better train your body well, Junior Brother! As a mere Martial Artist, forget about all the beautiful young wives in the world—I doubt you could even handle a single women’s squad from the Seven Kills Hall!"
Tang Wen was speechless.
Once Shui Yun had her laugh, she added, "In that case, how about I assign a women’s squad to be your Close Guards, Junior Brother."
"That would be a huge waste of their talent."
Tang Wen shook his head like a rattle. He had just gone through the trouble of refusing the Extraordinary Guard the Hall had arranged for him. He certainly didn’t want a team of women following him around.
But Shui Yun paid his protests no mind. Taking advantage of her taller stature, she slipped her shoe back on, slung an arm around Tang Wen’s shoulders, and started walking back the way they came.
On the training field, everyone’s Cultivation session was coming to a close.
Shui Yun pulled Tang Wen behind the side of a stone house and pointed to a female captain with an oval face and a curvaceous figure.
"Liang Yu. Peak Martial Artist. I just introduced you. How about her as your Guard Captain?"
’What do I need a Guard Captain for?’
Tang Wen shook his head firmly. "Senior Sister, I really don’t think it’s necessary. I’ll come to you for people when I need to leave the city."
"Don’t be so hasty. I’ve seen her feet. They’re fair-skinned, perfectly proportioned, not too big or small."
Tang Wen shook his head gently. "Thank you for your kind intentions, Senior Sister."
Shui Yun breathed into his ear, "She’s a married woman. In other words, one of those beautiful young wives you like."
"You’ve misunderstood me, Senior Sister! I’m not that kind of person."
"Her husband’s dead, and she doesn’t have any children. Don’t worry."
’She’s a demon!’
’This is absolutely the temptation of a demon.’
Tang Wen struggled internally before shaking his head. "Senior Sister, I can’t force a subordinate."
Sensing his resolve weakening with each protest...
Shui Yun was nearly bursting with laughter inside.
’Junior Brother is handsome and so amusing.’
’Father was absolutely right to bring him to the Seven Kills Hall.’
Suppressing a laugh, Shui Yun said, "I know Liang Yu. When she’s had a few drinks, she boasts about how experienced she is, about her countless lovers. But in reality, she spends nine out of ten days living in the Hall’s lounge. On her one day off, she just drinks and goes shopping."
Tang Wen remained silent.
Shui Yun continued, "All the women in this field are looking at you, but she’s been the sneakiest about it, and she’s been staring the longest. Once she’s your Close Guard, all you’d have to do is beckon with your little finger, and I’m afraid..."
’Her observations are so detailed,’ Tang Wen thought.
Something primal stirred within him.
But he really didn’t want to be led around by the nose by a woman.
So, he placed both hands on Shui Yun’s shoulders, looked her straight in the eye, and said with deep affection, "Senior Sister, stop testing me! Everything I like... you already have."
Shui Yun froze.
Tang Wen turned and slipped away.
"Hah!" Watching his retreating figure, Shui Yun lightly bit her red lip with her pearly teeth and chuckled. "Junior Brother, you’re the one who made the first move."
