Chapter 72: Thoughts on Going Premium
This book is going premium tomorrow at 12 PM. To be honest, even I feel like it came out of nowhere.
This is the first book from a total newbie, Latiao. I used to read other authors’ premium announcements, but until August, I never imagined I’d be writing one of these things myself one day.
I’ve been thinking about this since the day I first published the book, but even now, I’m still not sure what to write.
No matter what, the first people I have to thank—sincerely thank—are all of you amazing readers who have stuck with the story until this point.
Each and every one of your monthly passes, recommendation tickets, donations, and interesting comments are the reason Latiao can happily continue writing this story.
Latiao would like to offer a super-duper, out-of-this-world thank you to all you amazing readers for your support!

...
Just like every kid who grew up loving novels.
My dream was to become a manga artist.
The talent for becoming a manga artist is six parts artistic skill, four parts storytelling, and the remaining ninety parts are all in the grind.
It’s an art form that balances illustration and story, and it requires you to be a true champion among the master grinders.
Though I haven’t awakened a status panel, given my drawing skills—which are, as we all know, widely acclaimed and plain for all to see—I’m afraid that apart from grinding, all of Latiao’s skill points must have been dumped into storytelling.
After all, a storyteller who doesn’t want to be a manga artist can’t write a good novel.
Ever since I started writing and joined various online groups, I’d always hear people say things like, "You have to tough it out until you go premium," "Just make it to premium," "Persevere until you go premium..."
But honestly, when I saw the premium notice yesterday, my first reaction was, "Huh?"
’I’ve barely even started the story I have in my head!’
’It’s already going premium?’
I guess that’s because my skill points are all in storytelling; I didn’t even feel like it was a grind.
Ever since I hastily published this book, I’ve actually had a lot of fun writing every day, aside from the fact that I write slowly and can’t build up a Chapter stockpile.
I was hoping it would go premium a bit later so I could build up a stockpile. Every day I see comments urging me to post more, and man, does it make me anxious.
But every day, I lean back in my chair and start typing.
I’m building the world, brainstorming plot points, tweaking sentences, communicating with Lin Fan, thinking through the logic of every single event in that world, and having dialogues with all the characters in this novel.
Before I know it, hours have gone by.
I’ll sit down at ten at night, and before I realize it, the sun is coming up.
Sometimes I’ll be answering questions in the comments, and some of you dear readers will even tell me to go to bed...
But the time spent has been worth it.
I don’t know if I’m just biased, but I feel this novel is a unique one.
She feels a bit out of place among almost all the other works on the ranking charts.
But there will always be a group of you, my dear readers, who can tell that this is a book written with seriousness and sincerity, even if she has some rough edges and shortcomings.
And who then go on to support, vote for, and leave encouraging comments for Latiao.
Thanks to the support and engagement from all you dear readers, our book, with the strength of just a few dozen fans, managed to overpower a book with six thousand fans to claim the #1 spot on the New Author Chart!
(Though I’m not sure what happened, something else made a huge push later and we dropped back down...)
Once again, Latiao sincerely thanks all of you dear readers for your support and encouragement!

So, regarding updates: starting the moment I finish this announcement, I’m going to write without sleeping, right up until the premium release tomorrow. I’ll write as many Chapters as I possibly can. My life as an author will be free of regrets!
Of course, after that, I’ll return to my usual 4,000-character daily updates.
As a complete novice, ensuring quality will always be my top priority.
But Latiao will still work hard to increase the speed to an average of 6,000 characters per day. Once we get to one or two million characters, maybe 10,000 a day won’t be impossible. If a person has no dreams, what’s the difference between them and Chu Zhaozhao!
Now that it’s come to this, all I can do is give it my all.
As for the future of the book, I can promise that every question you, my dear readers, have will be answered. I will also make sure to seriously reply to any threads in the discussion forums where you’re earnestly discussing the story.
As a fan who’s grown up reading countless post-apocalyptic novels, my approach to the genre is all about one thing: taking it seriously.
I’m not going to pull any tricks like ending on a cliffhanger right as we go premium. In the final free Chapter, the tension in Lin Fan and Su Qing’s relationship was released. Just like the Chapter title says, the holiday is over. As Lin Fan awakens from his dream, a new arc is about to unfold.
I promise, this book will only get more exciting and more in-depth. I will follow in Lin Fan’s footsteps to narrate every story that unfolds in that world for all of you!
A more realistic and more thrilling world!
I couldn’t become a manga artist, but I’m going to be a great storyteller!
