Chapter 225: Julian Lynch
Outside the RV, a large dining table appeared, covered with ingredients and a dual-sided hot pot, sending waves of fragrant aroma into the air.
The scent drifted into the two men’s nostrils. Even the one who had been half-dead perked up, exclaiming excitedly, "It’s food! It’s food!"
And so, the two men, each with their own ulterior motives, began to eat the hot pot.
Lily Hart: ...
’If they’d just agreed to split it from the start, they could’ve been eating ages ago.’
’Every single day, they just have to pull this crap!’
With food in front of them, the men were suddenly a hundred times more energetic. They both started shoveling food down, terrified of eating one less piece of meat or one less lettuce leaf than the other. In short, they absolutely refused to lose out!
Lily Hart was ready to close up for the night, but she could still hear their bickering.
"Hey, hey, hey! There were eight potato slices in total, and you ate five! You’ve gone too far!"
"What bullshit are you talking about? What about the beef rolls? You ate one more than me!"
Lily Hart didn’t want to listen anymore. With a CLICK, she turned off the lights.
The result was an even louder shout. "Boss Hart, don’t turn off the lights! We can’t see! Hey, hey, hey, don’t you dare sneak food while I’m not looking!"
Lily Hart: ... She quickly closed up the RV’s body, completely shutting out the noise from outside, and went upstairs to sleep!
It was a new day! Lily Hart pulled open the curtains to greet the sun, full of positive energy!
Looking down from the second floor, she saw people already lining up in front of the machine. They all looked sleepy-eyed, but their movements were remarkably practiced.
"Huh?" Lily Hart scanned the crowd and noticed a rather handsome guy in the line. She figured he could give Roman Rowe a run for his money, though they had different styles.
The reason she spotted him at a glance was that he was very tall, standing head and shoulders above the rest. He had a buzz cut and a pair of black-framed glasses, looking like a student who was both well-behaved and a little rebellious.
But if one’s gaze drifted down a little, they would see he was wearing a sleeveless black tank top. His skin was a healthy tan, with smooth muscle lines and faintly visible veins.
’Damn, his body is way better than the guys who are still asleep!’
’His biceps and pecs were perfectly proportioned—not overly exaggerated, but they would definitely feel firm and springy to the touch.’
’Especially the blue veins running along his arms...’
Lily Hart watched him while brushing her teeth, nodding in satisfaction. ’This guy’s face is so innocent, but his body is so tough. The combination is just perfect.’
After she finished washing up and went downstairs, she opened up the side of the RV. A huge portion of the people queuing for the machine instantly swarmed in her direction, while the tough guy only moved forward in his line, not over to her side.
She didn’t pay it much mind. ’He’s a handsome guy, which just means he’s nice to look at.’
Her main task now was to set out the scratch-off tickets! There were too many customers! They surged forward like a tide!
After setting out the scratch-off tickets, the first rush was finally over. Lily Hart was just about to take a break and catch her breath when suddenly, a tanned hand with well-defined knuckles, holding a small card, appeared before her.
Lily Hart’s gaze traveled up from the hand, along an arm with winding blue veins that all screamed immense power, as if he could kill her with a single punch.
She met his calm eyes behind the lenses, able to vaguely make out a current churning deep within them.
"Redeeming a prize?" Lily Hart asked.
Julian Lynch nodded and pushed the small card forward a bit more, gesturing for her to look at it.
Lily Hart instinctively took it and flipped it over. A sausage griller? ’What the heck? In this day and age, where am I supposed to find sausages to grill with this thing?’
A closer look at the small text below revealed: "Flip the switch, and fifteen sausages will appear in the machine, slowly rotating and roasting until fully cooked."
"Can supply seventy-five sausages per day."
In other words, this was a fully automatic sausage griller. All you had to do was flick a switch.
After the fifteen were grilled and eaten, another fifteen would appear. A total of seventy-five a day, in five batches.
’Hmm, not bad at all. Sausages to eat every day!’
Soon, a brand-new sausage griller appeared on the counter.
The people around them cast envious glances, but some also made snide remarks.
"What era is this? How’s a sausage griller supposed to work without electricity?"
"Yeah! Besides, what are you going to grill without any sausages? Air?"
These two comments managed to suppress the crowd’s envy. They could comfort themselves with the thought that he had just won a useless decoration—no power, no sausages.
What’s it going to grill? His loneliness?
Julian Lynch heard the waves of ridicule from all around, but he paid them no mind. Instead, he unhurriedly twisted the switch on the bottom.
With a CLICK, sausages appeared between the rollers, perfectly spaced and neatly arranged.
Then, the rollers began to rotate and heat up.
Everyone saw the sausages appear out of thin air and couldn’t help but gasp. "Are those real sausages? Where did they come from? Don’t tell me they came with the machine?"
"Having sausages is one thing, but it doesn’t even need to be plugged in? Good heavens, what kind of magical sausage griller is this?!"
As the sausages slowly changed color and the outer skins began to char, the meaty aroma wafted out in waves, and of course, everyone smelled it.
It was early in the morning, and their stomachs were completely empty. They had all been hoping to win something to eat from the scratch-offs, and now, tempted by the aroma, they were truly famished!
Ten minutes later, the first batch of sausages was cooked. They split open one by one, revealing the tender, juicy meat inside, all with a nice char. The sight alone made Lily Hart’s mouth water.
Not only were the sausages included, but so were the wooden skewers, which were in a small bucket hanging on the side of the griller.
Julian Lynch took out a skewer, picked up the tongs, and selected the sausage he considered to be the most perfectly cooked. He skewered it and handed it to Lily Hart.
Lily Hart’s eyebrow twitched. She accepted it happily and took a bite. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, fresh and juicy, full of meaty flavor—she could even see the fine strands of real meat.
’It was a good sausage.’
Seeing Lily Hart’s satisfied expression, a flicker of a smile passed through Julian Lynch’s eyes. He then skewered a sausage for himself and began to eat with relish.
Diana Sharp and Tina Jacobs arrived, staring with longing eyes. Lily Hart couldn’t bear it. She reached out and poked Julian Lynch’s arm—it really did feel good to the touch.
Julian Lynch turned around, a wooden skewer still dangling from his mouth, its end bobbing up and down, giving him a bit of a roguish air.
He raised an eyebrow in confusion, only to hear her say, "Are these sausages for sale? I’ll take two."
Without a word, Julian Lynch skewered three more and handed them to Lily Hart.
Lily Hart smiled in satisfaction. ’Good kid, very perceptive.’ She gave one sausage each to Diana Sharp and Tina Jacobs, then joyfully prepared to enjoy her own.
"AARGH—" Roman Rowe suddenly shot out and took a huge bite, devouring more than half of it.
Lily Hart was so angry she immediately let loose with a stream of curses. "You motherfucker! Roman Rowe! You owe me a sausage!" She lashed out with a slap, landing a direct hit on his arm.
"OWW! Pain, pain, pain!" Roman Rowe cried out in exaggerated agony, but his feet seemed rooted to the spot, letting Lily Hart hit him without moving an inch.
Suddenly, a perfectly intact sausage was held out between the two of them.
Roman Rowe followed it with his eyes, and alarm bells went off in his head. It was the same feeling he got when he first saw Stan Sterling. This guy was... a little too handsome.
At least, from a man’s perspective, he was very handsome! Very much a tough guy!
