Chapter 1492: Then War It Is
Central Region...
After careful deliberation, the leaders of the top races unanimously decided to seek peace with the Beast Sovereign.
It would cost them some pride, but going to war now offered them no benefits.
The appearance of the humans had put every top race on edge.
Those few humans might be no more than ants to them, but no one knew whether a vast human population stood behind them.
They all remembered how powerful humanity had once been. If an entire human population had survived, it would be a nightmare for them.
The hatred between them and humanity could never be resolved. Either they died, or humanity did.
That meant the humans had to remain their priority. This was no time to start a war with the Outland Beasts.
They all shared the same world, after all. A few dead Stage SS Outland Beasts were hardly an irreparable loss. Some compensation should be enough to settle the matter.
Just as the leaders were discussing who should negotiate with the Beast Sovereign, a Celestials elder entered with a grave expression.
"Patriarch, something’s happened!"
"What is it?" the Celestials Patriarch asked with a frown.
"The Eastern Region has descended into chaos. Fighters from over a hundred races suddenly stormed the mountain ranges and began slaughtering the Outland Beasts inside!"
"What?!"
Every top fighter in the hall shot to their feet, glaring at the Celestials elder in fury.
"We never gave the order to terminate the agreement! Who gave them the nerve to attack?"
"We don’t know. According to our reports, the Galeborn started it. Apparently, they attacked as soon as they heard that the Emberborn Patriarch had fallen."
"..."
"Is Galeborn trying to get itself wiped out?"
The leaders felt the world spinning around them.
They had spent all this time negotiating among themselves. They had even agreed on what compensation to offer and were only missing someone to deliver the proposal. Then the races beneath them went and took a massive dump on the whole plan.
It was infuriating.
In fact, they were almost relieved that no one had left yet. If their representative had already reached the Veilmist Range and the Beast Sovereign learned of this in the middle of negotiations, they could guarantee that the negotiator would never return alive.
"I swear, I want to go to the Eastern Region and wipe out every last one of those damned races!" an old man snarled. "All they know how to do is create trouble for us!"
"Enough. Destroying them now won’t change what happened," another elder said grimly. "We need to decide what to do next."
"What else can we do? Send someone to stop them immediately!"
"It’s already too late. If the news has reached us, it must have reached the Beast Sovereign as well. It’s probably raging by now."
"Then what do we do?"
"Notify every race and tell them to prepare for battle," the Celestials Patriarch said helplessly, rubbing his forehead.
"Are we really going to war?" The others looked worried.
"What choice do we have? Given the Beast Sovereign’s temperament, it has probably started mobilizing its forces already. All we can do is meet them in battle."
"Fine..."
"What the hell is all this?"
Even the most powerful figures on the Eldoria Continent couldn’t stop cursing.
"Warn every race that they may fight back, but no one is to deploy a Stage SSS. Once fighters at that level join the war, there will be no turning back."
"Understood."
Meanwhile, in the Veilmist Range...
Just as the Celestials Patriarch had predicted, the Beast Sovereign’s fury shot through the roof when it learned what was happening in the Eastern Region.
"Fine! You want war? Then war it is!"
"Send orders to every mountain range. All forces are to descend and wipe out those races!"
"Deploy every Stage SS!"
"As for the Stage SSS..."
The Beast Sovereign paused.
"No. The Stage SSS will wait and observe for now."
"Yes!"
Flying Outland Beasts soon departed the Veilmist Range in every direction, carrying the Beast Sovereign’s orders to the other mountain ranges.
It wasn’t long before Outland Beasts throughout the regions began assembling. Once gathered, they charged down the mountains.
At the same time, the various races received orders from the top races to prepare for battle.
They were confused at first. Then they saw the countless Outland Beasts pouring down from the mountains and snapped into action, hurriedly organizing their people to resist.
Across all five Regions of the Eldoria Continent, Outland Beasts descended from nearly every mountain range.
Every race was forced to take up arms.
The entire continent fell into chaos as battles between the Outland Beasts and the various races broke out everywhere.
No one was spared, from the top races to the lowest. Every race was dragged into the fighting.
Many had no idea what was going on. They couldn’t understand why the Outland Beasts had suddenly gone mad and charged down from the mountains.
Before this, plenty of races had resented the agreement. They believed it restricted their development for the sake of protecting the Outland Beasts.
But when the vast hordes came pouring down and one terrifying Outland Beast after another revealed itself, those races were horrified.
Only then did they realize how powerful the Outland Beasts had become.
At last, they understood why the agreement mattered.
Unfortunately, that realization had come too late. War had already erupted, and no one could avoid it.
This might become the largest conflict the Eldoria Continent had seen in tens of thousands of years.
Meanwhile, in the Suncrest Range...
The Outland Beasts here had no need to descend from the mountains. They were already fighting inside them.
As one of the Eastern Region’s ten great races, Galeborn’s strength was beyond question.
The Suncrest Range wasn’t considered particularly powerful by the Eastern Region’s standards, so its Outland Beasts struggled to resist the Galeborn assault.
Fortunately, Stage SS Outland Beasts from other mountain ranges had arrived to reinforce them. Without that help, the situation would have been even worse.
High above the battlefield, the white unicorn Beast Lord and Galeborn Patriarch Vaelor fought with everything they had.
Both were at the peak of Tier 41, and the difference between their strength was minimal. Neither could defeat the other anytime soon.
Vaelor wanted the unicorn’s crystal core.
The unicorn wanted Vaelor’s corpse.
Their battle was vicious.
Below them, Galeborn’s other Stage SS elders had also been intercepted by several Stage SS Outland Beasts.
With so many Stage SS elders leading the charge, Galeborn’s advance had originally been unstoppable. It wasn’t until the Stage SS Outland Beasts arrived that their momentum was finally halted.
The area had become a massive battlefield.
Nearly every Outland Beast in the Suncrest Range had gathered there, locked in a brutal fight against the Galeborn forces.
Yet deep within the Suncrest Range, another group of Outland Beasts remained behind.
The unicorn Beast Lord had ordered them to guard this place and wait for the outsiders in hiding to reappear.
Among them was a Tier 39 Outland Beast.
It was another winged unicorn, the same species as the Beast Lord.
This was obviously the subordinate the Beast Lord had summoned. Its job was to guard the area and prevent Ethan’s group from escaping.
Clearly, the unicorn Beast Lord had taken their escape personally.
Inside Deadlock Dimension...
More than ten minutes passed without another attack from outside.
After thinking it over, Ethan had everyone gather close. Then he decisively deactivated Deadlock Dimension.
The group reappeared in the outside world.
The instant they emerged, Ethan saw the white unicorn waiting for them. His heart tightened, and he immediately activated Absolute Stasis, preparing to drag everyone back into Deadlock Dimension.
"Wait. That’s not the same one!"
Ethan quickly noticed the difference and activated True Sight.
"Tier 39?"
His eyes lit up.
Without hesitation, he pulled the unicorn into Deadlock Dimension with them.
The surrounding Outland Beasts only saw the group appear for an instant before vanishing again. They hadn’t even had time to react.
The beasts stared blankly at the empty space.
After a while, they finally realized something was wrong.
Something seemed to be missing.
"Roar!"
The unicorn lord is gone!
The other Outland Beasts finally caught on and immediately grew anxious.
"Roar..."
Don’t panic. The unicorn lord must have followed those outsiders inside. It should finish them off soon.
"Roar..."
Oh, right. You’re smart.
