The banquet was halfway over when Han Yuxin, arm in arm with Lin Feng, left the ground-floor banquet hall under the watchful gaze of the crowd. They made their way up to the presidential suite on the top floor.

The suite's balcony had been converted into a semi-open-air swimming pool. Left untended for a long time, it had become covered in dust, with algae and moss growing inside.

In preparation for this moment, Han Yuxin had arranged for a team of cleaners the day before to scrub the suite and pool until they were spotless.

She then pulled Lin Feng to the edge of the pool, slipped off her high heels, and walked barefoot on the smooth black stone tiles. Turning back, she asked:

"Want to wash up first?"

Lin Feng had been busy all day. Although his sweat had dried, the smell lingered, along with an accumulation of dead skin cells.

In the height of the August summer, going even one day without bathing was unbearable.

So he nodded and stripped off his clothes.

He revealed a well-built, slender physique.

Having undergone two deep Awakenings to reach Tier Two Peak, Lin Feng's body had been sculpted to near perfection. Like a classical statue, the curve of every muscle was sharply defined.

His height had also increased to 1.95 meters.

In fact, if Lin Feng wanted to, he could continue growing even larger, perhaps even surpassing two meters in height.

But he had to consider agility, especially in the confined spaces of Underground combat. Being too large would be a liability, hindering his movement.

His current height of 1.95 meters was just right, not creating too great a disparity between him and other humans.

This was especially true for his female companions, who were generally between 1.6 and 1.7 meters tall. If he grew to over two meters—or even taller and more powerfully built—there would be an indescribable sense of awkwardness when they walked together.

Just like Han Yuxin now. Having slipped out of her long gown and wearing nothing but scant lingerie, her figure was voluptuous yet graceful, like a fine work of art.

There wasn't a trace of excess fat on her body; every inch of her was perfectly proportioned.

As Lin Feng sank into the pool, savoring the coolness against the sweltering summer heat, Han Yuxin extended her long, jade-smooth legs and dipped her toes into the water.

She slowly swam over to his side.

Their eyes met, and no words were needed.

In the dead of night, a freshly cleaned Lin Feng carried Han Yuxin out of the pool. After another quick rinse in the bathroom, they ended up lying on the large, soft sofa, admiring the river view outside the window.

The waves of the Great River surged, rolling on endlessly.

Han Yuxin nestled in Lin Feng's embrace, her expression still flushed with passion. She looked at his calm eyes and began to speak slowly.

"Before we officially establish our base and form a proper faction, there's something else we need to consider."

Lin Feng nodded slowly, his gaze falling to the woman in his arms, a blush still gracing her cheeks.

"What is it?"

Han Yuxin's slender, nimble fingers gently caressed his chest, her fingertip tapping lightly.

"As the leader of our faction... the matter of your heir."

Lin Feng's eyes narrowed slightly.

"I'm only twenty-six. Once I advance to a Tier Three Awakener, my lifespan will stretch for a millennium. There's no rush."

Han Yuxin shook her head.

"No. You may not be in a hurry, but the people under you are."

"Right now, the entire team revolves around you. If something were to happen to you—and I know the chance is low—but if it did, are we few women supposed to keep the base running on our own?"

"People need an anchor for their hopes."

"Those members of the Tier Two Corps... they revere you, they are loyal to you, not to us administrators."

Lin Feng sighed softly.

"I'm aware of that. But Yanyan and I... we've been together hundreds, if not a thousand times, and there's still been no sign of anything."

"I suspect it's difficult for Awakeners to have children."

"Perhaps the price for our accelerated evolution is fertility."

"Nature seeks to maintain a relative balance."

A small smile played on Han Yuxin's lips as she continued.

"I asked Director Ling about this. According to the research data from the main institute, she believes it's very difficult for Awakeners to conceive naturally."

"An Awakener's immune system is just too powerful. It eliminates any foreign bodies without exception, so there's no chance for... combination."

"So, there's only one way..."

"...artificial conception. In vitro fertilization."

Lin Feng raised an eyebrow.

After learning what it took to become a Tier Four Cosmic Life, he had become extremely protective of his own genetic material, constantly vigilant against the possibility of it being compromised.

Looking at the expectant expression in the woman's eyes, he spoke in a low voice.

"No problem. It's not exactly rare technology. Many large hospitals can do it."

"We'll just need to supervise the entire process."

Lin Feng grunted his assent.

"We'll discuss this in detail with Yanyan after the Wu City campaign is over and the temporary base is officially established."

Han Yuxin nodded, having no objection.

Chen Yanyan was extremely important to Lin Feng, and her place in his heart was unshakeable.

Han Yuxin was keenly aware of this. Her goal was to add another layer of insurance for herself before Betty could seize control of the base.

As long as she bore Lin Feng's child, Han Yuxin's power and influence within the base would be secure.
