Outside the arena of Guanyin Bodhisattva, Duomu Arhat was employing his Divine Power, using his multitude of eyes to fixate unyieldingly on Guanyin Bodhisattva.

The Medicine King Buddha had commanded him to keep a close watch on Guanyin Bodhisattva, and if Guanyin Bodhisattva managed to escape, he would be held accountable.

This time, all the followers were gathered to raid the Silent Sea, and the Medicine King Buddha had specifically ordered that he need not go.

"It’s good to have specialties!"

"While you all risk your lives, I’m here enjoying myself!" muttered Duomu Arhat as he kept surveillance over Guanyin Bodhisattva.

At this time, Guanyin Bodhisattva naturally heard the bell summoning the congregation too.

However, as a secondary Peak level, Guanyin Bodhisattva had no need to respond to it.

Duomu Vajra blinked, and in the next moment upon reopening his eyes, he suddenly found that Guanyin Bodhisattva had vanished from his sight.

"Ah!"

"Where’s Guanyin?" Duomu Arhat shivered in fear, ready to expand his search area.

If Guanyin managed to escape, he’d be in deep trouble.

When that time comes, the Medicine King Buddha would certainly throw him into Buddha Prison, and he’d face anal punishment.

As for what this anal punishment entails, those who know, know.

While Duomu Arhat was feeling tense, he suddenly felt someone patting his shoulder.

He turned abruptly to see that it was none other than Guanyin Bodhisattva doing the patting.

"Whew!" Duomu Arhat couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

As long as Guanyin Bodhisattva hadn’t fled, he could still deliver his duties.

Actually, just now, while Duomu Arhat was momentarily distracted, Guanyin Bodhisattva had the chance to escape.

But after reconsidering repeatedly, Guanyin Bodhisattva had chosen not to flee.

Guanyin Bodhisattva knew that if he fled, Duomu Arhat would undoubtedly utilize his Divine Abilities to seek him immediately.

Though Guanyin Bodhisattva’s strength and realm exceeded that of Duomu Arhat substantially.

However, searching and surveillance were Duomu Arhat’s expertise, and Guanyin Bodhisattva wasn’t sure he could evade his tracking.

Even if Guanyin Bodhisattva luckily evaded Duomu Arhat’s search, Duomu Arhat would definitely alert Medicine King Buddha of his disappearance immediately.

Once Medicine King Buddha learned of his disappearance, Guanyin Bodhisattva’s plans would still be thwarted.

It should be known that Guanyin Bodhisattva not only intends to leave himself, but also aims to rescue Manjushri Bodhisattva and Manjushri Bodhisattva from Buddha Prison.

If Guanyin Bodhisattva wanted to leave by himself, he could depart at any time; the difficulty lies in rescuing Manjushri Bodhisattva and Manjushri Bodhisattva from the heavily guarded Buddha Prison.

This task was something Guanyin Bodhisattva couldn’t accomplish alone; he needed to seek the aid of his friend, Peacock Great Ming King.

"Duomu, didn’t you hear the bell calling the followers?"

"Why haven’t you left?" Guanyin Bodhisattva asked knowingly.

Upon hearing Guanyin Bodhisattva’s question, Duomu Arhat scratched his head and answered awkwardly: "I..."

"I have other tasks."

"Hmph!" Guanyin Bodhisattva snorted coldly and asked irritably: "Other tasks, what tasks?"

This question truly puzzled Duomu Arhat.

Though Duomu Arhat was a man of the Medicine King Buddha, given the stark disparity between his status and Guanyin Bodhisattva, he also didn’t want to completely offend Guanyin Bodhisattva.

If he told Guanyin Bodhisattva his task was to monitor him, wouldn’t that be confronting him?

Some things can be done but shouldn’t be revealed openly.

Duomu Arhat smiled awkwardly: "Secret tasks, Medicine King Buddha forbids us from speaking."

"Bodhisattva, please don’t trouble us. We minor folks have no other choice, right?"

Duomu Arhat’s words were like requesting leniency from Guanyin Bodhisattva.

His words implied that while the big shots clash, minor people can only act as puppets.

"Even if you don’t say it, I already know your secret task."

"The Medicine King Buddha instructed you to watch over me, right?"

"Hmph, suspecting us as traitors, the Medicine King Buddha also doesn’t consider, if we were traitors, would we return here?" Guanyin Bodhisattva snorted coldly.

Upon hearing Guanyin Bodhisattva’s words, Duomu Arhat unexpectedly found some empathy with him.

Duomu Arhat thought, that’s true!

If Guanyin Bodhisattva and his group were traitors, wouldn’t they simply not come back at all?

What sense was there in being a traitor and then walking into a trap?

Just as Duomu Arhat pondered this, Guanyin Bodhisattva’s voice rang out: "Since Medicine King Buddha instructed you to watch over me, I won’t make things difficult for you!"

"Come with me then!"

Duomu Arhat: "???"

Duomu Arhat was stunned, then asked: "Bodhisattva, what do you mean by this?"

"It’s dull to be alone, inviting you over for discussions on scriptures to dispel boredom," Guanyin Bodhisattva said.

With these words, Duomu Arhat looked shocked.

Discuss scriptures?

Discussing scriptures was something usually done between fellow daoists.

Was Duomu Arhat worthy to be Guanyin Bodhisattva’s fellow daoist?

To put it simply, a few words from Guanyin Bodhisattva about the scriptures could bring him tremendous benefits.

"Bodhisattva! Are you serious?" Duomu Arhat cautiously inquired.

Guanyin Bodhisattva glanced at him and said: "I am serious, upright and fearless, not worried about being watched."

"Come in!"

This great chance was right before him; Duomu Arhat couldn’t refuse.

Besides, discussing scriptures wouldn’t affect his surveillance on Guanyin Bodhisattva!

Now with benefits and no delays, why not do it?

Duomu Arhat followed Guanyin Bodhisattva into the arena, and truly, Guanyin Bodhisattva wasn’t stingy at all.

This discourse and discussion on scriptures were full of substance, immensely benefiting Duomu Arhat.

Gradually, Duomu Arhat relaxed his vigilance around Guanyin Bodhisattva, considering him a good person.

Guanyin Bodhisattva preached as Duomu Arhat listened attentively.

Initially, it was a plain lecture.

As the lecture progressed, Guanyin Bodhisattva had a child servant deliver fruits, inviting Duomu Arhat to partake.

Duomu Arhat ate without much thought.

Continuing the lecture, Guanyin Bodhisattva instructed the child servant to prepare wine and food, discussing while eating during the banquet.

Duomu Arhat, having been lulled into complete trust with Guanyin Bodhisattva, naturally didn’t refuse.

Soon, Duomu Arhat drank too much, collapsed onto the table, and snored blissfully.

Looking at Duomu Arhat sleeping soundly on the table, Guanyin Bodhisattva softly said: "It’s said Duomu Arhat is fond of wine, indeed deserving the reputation."

After confirming Duomu Arhat was completely inebriated, Guanyin Bodhisattva summoned the child servant and instructed: "I need to leave for some matters and will return promptly."

"During the time I’m away, every incense-burning interval, make sure to pour a jug of wine into Duomu Arhat’s mouth."

This was Guanyin Bodhisattva’s strategy; he would intoxicate Duomu Arhat and seize this opportunity to consult with Peacock Great Ming King on a plan.

As long as he returns before Duomu Arhat wakes, it would create the illusion he has been there all along.
