Chapter 445 - 455: Complaining First
The scene unfolding before them was somewhat unexpected.
They had assumed that once their boss arrived, this mysterious masked woman was as good as dead and wouldn’t be able to stir up any more trouble.
But not only did the two not fight, they actually started chatting. And from the sound of it, they were quite familiar with each other.
Moreover, their boss’s attitude was completely foreign to them.

Selene Larkin had still been in a state of shock, but upon seeing River Larkin’s reaction, she frowned.

At this, Selene Larkin let out a cold laugh.
She glanced over at Stella Sterling. ’I have to admit, I underestimated her. She seemed to be spouting nonsense this whole time, but I didn’t expect there to be a basis for her claims.’

After a brief pause, she continued, "I dropped your name just now, but these subordinates of yours didn’t believe me. They even tried to blow me up with artillery shells. This trip has been truly unpleasant!"
Hearing Stella Sterling’s words, Selene Larkin’s expression changed. ’This is bad. I’m afraid this woman plans to play the victim and blame us first.’

They all knew Boss Saint was displeased. And his displeasure wasn’t just because of this woman, Stella Sterling, but also because their previous actions had made him feel as if his authority had been challenged.
Thinking of this, Selene Larkin quickly spoke up to explain, "Big Brother, please forgive us. It’s mainly because this Miss Sterling was spouting utter nonsense before, so we didn’t trust anything she said. When she finally claimed that you... you... were her suitor, we naturally didn’t believe her."
